  Hi all

  I just bought a new copy of Windows 7 Home 64 bit. I'm trying to install it on a drive hard new, unformatted. I went into my BIOS and change the boot order of the old (now unplugged during the installation process) hard drive to a CD first.

  With the disc of windows 7 in my DVD player, I restart, it attempts to boot from the disk, and I get the message "echec failed startup disk, insert system disk and press on enter." No matter what I try to change I get this message.

  A few details:

  -The DVD is new and works fine. I plugged my old HD and kicked upward to test to make sure.

  -The system I is; motherboard: EVGA Nforce 680i LT, 4 GB of RAM, Intel Duo core 2.66 MHz.

  -The new HD is recognized in the system. He appears in the area of Standard CMOS of my BIOS and Hard disk boot priority devices.

  -The new HD is not formatted.

  -Start with my old IDE HD with windows XP very well.

  I've just set up a new unit.  8 core processor, 32 RAM, 1 TB HD.  I'm stuck trying to install VMware ESXi 5.  using motherboard Gigabyte GA - a 970 - UD3.

  Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and press ENTER, is the message he said after loading OS...

  I threw in an old dell windows reinstall the cd to see if it bypassed this error, and he did.

  I tried another file .iso of another copy of windows, and he gave me the same error as the esxi disk 5.

  Any ideas?  Is it possible that my motherboard does not recognize the iso files as bootable files?

  P.S. I have to keep my HD unplugged, b/c when its im plugged by getting "NTLDR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart" error message.  Im hoping once I have esxi installed, I can update all drivers and get rid of this error, so that I can load it from the hard drive.

  When you burn a CD, do not burn the ISO as a file on this CD, but use the "Burn Image" of the CD burning application.

  I have a hp Pavilion p6 2000 ukm. Recently I started getting on my HARD drive error messages, saying it was a failure. I recently bought a new HDD in my pc. I connected it correctly and it says that I need recovery disk / boot disk.

  To my knowledge when I bought this pc there was no disk Windows 7. Now I know on workstations, you create your own.

  My question is... How to get windows 7 installed on my new hard drive when I plug it in? I'm looking for the iso of windows 7, I think that his name, but I can't find any .iso file.  I'm trying to install windows 7 on my new drive HARD I need not my other files like music... etc. I'm looking to get my HARD drive installed with windows 7, where it has IE and I can go back to the installation of everything I had previously. Should u use "create a system image"? Its a big file and requires 7 + dvd discs is my only option? I have my 25 key windows 7 as well.
