(Redirected) Windows 10 certified systems

I have an Inspiron (mid 2011) 620 - on your support site, it says:

Dell has not confirmed that this product can upgrade to Windows 10. Some drivers, firmware, applications and devices may not work as you would expect.

For systems that fall into this category, does that mean that Dell will never confirm that this system can go to 10 Windows, or simply that you have not had the chance to test this particular model, but you'll eventually?

  • What is a Windows 8 certified USB flash drive?

I just bought my 3rd USB flash drive in the hope of being able to copy my recovery image. My computer would not use the first two I tried all ports USB 4 - port 2.0 and 3.0. This time, I bought a HP flash drive who said that she supports Windows 8. I understand that I should not use a Windows 8 certified USB flash drive. Before I open this disc, I want to know if it's a. If so, I will return it not open - unlike the first two I tried.

The States of package under requirements that Windows 8 is one of the necessary systems. For me, this does not mean that it is certified for Windows 8. Am I wrong?

    Hello

Your question has not been answered by Erico on one of your other posts?

If a piece of equipment is certified MS then it should be presented to MS for certification.  Some USB flash drives are marked on the package compatible with Windows 8, but this does not mean that the particular flash drive is "certified."

There is to many, many USB flash drives that work with Windows 8. Some have argued that, if the USB flash drive as a 'removable' device, so it should work with the HP Recovery Media Creator.  However, I recently discovered that one of flash USB 2 (team F108 64 G) drives that I is not set up as a 'removable device' when you open my ThisPc (myPC) and it works perfectly for me.

  • Satellite A100-207 - \windows\system32\config\system is corrupt

    Hello

Can someone help me with the following problem. With regard to a Toshiba Satellite A100-207 with windows XP media edition

When starting the laptop hangs with error * \windows\system32\config\system is corrupt *.

This article is the closest to the problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545. but the warning in the article on the point is not to use with circumspect OEM on more facilities of he made me.

I have lost the disc of recovery (recently).
But were able to boot the laptop from USB using a cutter (lite) version of windows.

The scene in the article copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system fails because the file does not exist (the other files do however).

In this folder there is a system.bak, this would solve the problems like the laptop boots windows logo screen then after 5 minutes restarts and just go around and around a certain extent.

There is also a file system.sav in the folder windows\system32\config using this all goes someway to to solve the problem, the laptop restarts and resumes product set-up with off course fails has so I don't have the recovery disk.

I would be grateful if someone could help with the problem

    Regards Garry

    > but the warning in the article on the point is not to use with circumspect OEM on more facilities of he made me.

You can ignore this warning, you have no other choice than to try to fix this system following the article in the Microsoft Knowledge base.

But to be honest, I doubt that the system would run smoothly after this work around.

I would recommend the new installation of the OS.
If you don t have a Toshiba Recovery disk, you can use a Microsoft Disk to reinstall the system. Essential drivers are available Toshiba driver Web site.

  • Desktop HP HPE h9-1150 Phoenix: can you do a update the BIOS of Windows 8 while on a Windows 10 operating system?

As indicated in the title, you can do a BIOS in Windows 8 update while on a Windows 10 operating system?

I have a Phoenix desktop h9-1150 and am trying to install a new GPU GTX970. There is no updated BIOS for Windows 10 at this time, but there is an update of my current BIOS 7.07 for Windows 8 OS. Can I do that Windows 8 updated safely?

Normally the flasher will check to verify the operating system, but I can't on this one.  It does not separate out ROM file, even if it does not check if the operating system you can always extract the file BIOS and flash BACK.  I would try it first in windows.  It will tell you if there is a control in place.

  • Startup error - file is missing or corrupt: windows\system32\config\system

When I turn on my computer, I get the following error message:

Windows could not start because the following gile is missing or damaged:
    Windows\System32\Config\System
You can try to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD.
Select the rat the first screen to start repair.

I can't solve this problem because I do not understand what to do.
First of all, I put in the recovery CD Toshiba to installation and then I turned on the computer.
When the Toshiba screen came on I pressed r
Nothing happened and I was returned to the original error message

Secondly, I tried holding down c when I turned on the computer because that's what cd said to
The CD loaded and brought me to a screen that asked me if I had backed up all my files
I've supported them all upward, only some, because previously there was no problem with the computer and I don't think I have it will re-start.
I hit not and so I do not know what to do next.

I can lose everything on my computer, otherwise I'd just re - load windows. What should I do?

Is anyway for me to back up my documents and then reload everything, or is there a way for me to fix the entire system without erasing it?

    Thanks for your help

I agree with kody. You can try to fix it using windows advanced option menu. Maybe you can also try to repair Windows by using the recovery console. Problem is that this option can be used with Microsoft WXP CD facilities and not with supplied recovery media.

  • Windows\System32\Config\System is missing or damage on Satellite 5200

    Hello

After a system crash I have on my 5200 always the next message after startup:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    -WINDOWS-System32-CONFIG-SYSTEM
You can try to repair this file...

As I wrote in various support forums, it seems that the Windows XP registry is corrupted. There is an adviser to Microsoft to fix this, but that's why I have to boot from the CD.

I tried to change the sequence of booting (from HDD to CD) access the BIOS at startup but all the possible key (and combination) did not work, I found: F12 (which should be the right one for the 5200 series), F1, F2, DEL, C,...
If I hold down ESC at startup I get a minimal installation but only to change the time and date.

Are there any experience available regarding this issue? Toshiba support responded to my support request.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this will help but check this thread m:

  • Re: Serial number down would work with the other Windows Vista operating system

First of all sorry for my English.
    I have one question.

My hard drive is broken with my recovery partition.
If I download windows vista and install the system with my original serial number on the laptop, this will work or should I activate it after installation.

I hope it's the same number that the front is installed on my first installation.

    Hello Marcin

I doubt that the serial number that is placed at the bottom of the device works with another Windows Vista operating system. But it s worth a try
You could test it I heard it's very rare cases it was possible

In any case, if your HARD disk is damaged and it of not possible to create a recovery DVD using recovery software Toshiba disc creator, then you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

If the warranty is valid the HARD drive should be replaced just for free. If you need only the recovery DVDs, then you can order it here:

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you in advance.

This error means that the registry is damaged.

The registry consists of the following files:

    c:\windows\system32\config\system
    c:\windows\system32\config\software
    c:\windows\system32\config\sam
    c:\windows\system32\config\security
    c:\windows\system32\config\default

You can restore these registry files in the restore folder of the system hidden on the C: drive.

  • \Windows\system32\config\system MISSING file of repair

I have a T400 who HAD an XP Pro operating system... Google chrome has frozen the system and I did a hard reboot and the computer had lost the configuration of the registry file. Microsoft recommends that the oem disc should be used, instead of a commercial version of the operating system. It's my DISLIKE for the purchase of a laptop computer with the OEM software, without a backup disk. If there is a problem, the manufacturer generally is going to drag you dry. I thought that this stratagem of Toshiba, but not of Lenovo. Hell, you can't even ask 'em to a disk if you are out of warranty. Stone wall. Why is it not possible to ask even an OEM Lenovo restore disk? Unless you have the security privileges, there is no way to even ask a repair disc: repair file \windows\system32\config\system MISSING this thread has addressed the topic of config file missing and from the looks of it nothing of this worked when even though the guy has abandoned and performed a clean installation and lost three days : http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-prior-T-series-ThinkPad/How-to-repair-corrupt-windows-system32-c... This is not the problem of problems it's despair. I have a lot of files on that drive the need for recovery. I just want to get some tips on how to record what I have and do not go the trouble to reinstall my entire library of software and then having to reinvent my lost files. Ridiculous. Where there is an article on what works?

You may need to contact HP in your region or Microsoft by phone.

If he please go through these papers & try the above first steps:

Activation of Windows Vista operating system

You may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer on which Windows Vista has already been activated by a license in Volume or OEM installation

  • Is there a practice of the Windows Server operating system environment?

I'm looking to get some practice with the Windows Server operating system (2008 or other).  I came across the downloadable 180 trial period, but I don't mean to create a true server temporarily.  I'm looking to be able to have a completely 'virtual world' where I can actually add devices and simulate connect with different computers, etc.  I want to create an environment of virtual server completely, not the 180-day trial period where I create an environment that can have real computers to connect to it.  Such a thing exists?

For example, I used a program called Packet Tracer that allows me to simulate the addition of routers, switches and high-end devices to create a whole network of Physics in a virtual environment.  I can configure devices with IP address and all that I can learn how to build a physical network.  I would like to do with the operating system Windows Server if possible.

    Thank you.
