  You can try to remove the old files of backup from 2008 to 2010 and check.

  Note: When you delete these files and later if you perform a restore, you will not be able to get previous data. If you need one of these files, you can transfer the files to an external drive before you delete the system files.

  You can also use Disk Cleanup to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run more quickly.

I don't want to get rid of the wrong account, but I suspect that the "right" should be listed under my email address, not covered by 'Local Folders'.   [14/04/14 Edition #1] This is a major update of the problem I described earlier (see below). I disabled the part Mail shield of my antivirus software Avast free and discovered that TB was again able to recover my email. Then I re-enabled Avast to see if it blocked again TB. He did not. So, apparently simply light shield mail out of Avast and back again seems to have solved the problem. However, there's now the consequences of my having tried to "reset" TB which is described below, namely the loss of a very large number of emails that have been stored in my Inbox. So the problem is I would like to get help is how to recover these apparently lost emails. If they stay on my hard drive, should TB to store and what specific files I look for? I do not have a backup of some of my drive hard (but), but I need to know how to identify them, where to look and how to get back to my Inbox without deleting its current content.   TB suddenly stopped downloading my mail today. When I click Get Mail, I can see the screen very fast succession of messages; first the message "connected...". «, then «check...» ", then"download 1 of 10... ". ", and finally,"No message to download"after downloading absolutely none of them. I also noticed that my list of mailboxes not the entry of first showed my e-mail address as account name. Find that something important must have been changed in the setup of my account, I went through all the settings but didn't see any problem. Finally, I decided to try to restore my account even. Who did place my email address again back at the top of the list of mailboxes mailbox as my work account name, but he also created an even more serious problem.   I managed to recreate the same question.

  It's what, in my view, has occurred.

  The account that puts e-mails in local folders is set up as a global Inbox account.

  The account which has its own mail, mailbox is a classic e-mail account.

  When you created the global account to the Inbox, you have not restarted Thunderbird before you download, so the same e-mail is downloaded in the two accounts.

  E-mails currently in the global Inbox - Local folders Inbox is not deleted if you delete the account. but do not immediately.

  Please look under "Tools" > "account settings".

  You can do this if the Server SMTP allows you to send from a location that you are not connected via their internet service.  So if you have this permission, go to tools | Accounts | Add mail.  Then under the account of property | You want to set the server for incoming mail to the POP3 account, and then the SMTP protocol for the other account that you use to send servers.  And then indicate whether or not the server requires authentication, and if yes, then you will need to put in the user name and password for the SMTP server it.  Under properties. Advanced to define appropriate ports that may be different from the default value according to e-mail accounts.  You can also check the "leave a copy of messages on the server" for accounts POP3, if you access messages from multiple computers.

  Once you have an account set up, then you can set others upward in the same way, but change the POP3 properties for each while leaving the SMTP ones the same.

  The full error message is always useful, but I'm sure you have damaged dbx files.

  Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  General precautions for Outlook Express:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  I have a 08310 which has worked fine since O obtained (~ 2 months ago).   Yesterday I selected messages and a lot of messages was gone - nothing as simple as all messages before a date missing speciifc - many since that day and a lot of old, some were SMS, some were emails - from several hundred, I found myself with about 30!  Also the call log was gone and the phone seems to be running slower than before (lots of hourglass).  Today she again lost several messages and deleted call log.

  Turned off/on power no joy. Remove and don't replace the battery no joy changed the themes once again no joy.  The slow running seems to have improved, but I have no idea where my messages go and have no idea if this happen. Don't know about you but I lose confidence when such things happen.

  No one knows what could be causing this and how to prevent it.

  Your iCloud and any IMAP will be synchronized. You can connect with one another on the MacBook Apple ID, or you can turn off sync iCloud and IMAP account.
