Reduce the size of the Photo file

How can I reduce the size of TIFF picture files below 20 MB

Export to JPEG

Or of cultures

or export with smaller dimensions in pixels

The reason why you use a TR TIFF not compressed, so there is no loss of data - so it is very broad - must either compressed (JPEG format for example) where there are some (very minor I you use low compression - high quality) or delete some data in order to reduce its size

  • I lost all the photos, files and programs, can someone help me please?

    I did a system restore (I think) and lost all the photos, files and programs.  Can someone tell me please how do I get back them?

    Lillie

    Looks like your user profile has been corrupted in some way and XP connected to a new profile.  This means that when you connect, you see one of your stuff and can be also lack all the other programs you may have installed previously.

    Note that the system restore do not know or care about the personal files on your system.

    Unless there's a disaster or instead of a system restore you done a system recovery files would be still on your system somewhere - you just find them... and when you find them, you can correct what happened.  If you have made a recovery of the system instead of a system restore, then all is lost and you need to recover from a backup.

    Have you performed a search of Windows to see if you can find some of these photos and files?    For example, you could search for something like "Resume.doc" or a file name that you remember exactly to see if it is anywhere on your system and where it is.

    Why don't you get in Windows Explorer and (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive), navigate to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings

    Below, you will see that each user on your system has their own folder for their personal belongings.  You will see also some folders listed user that you do not recognize, but that's normal.

    Under the folder of each user, there is another folder, as "Documents of Jose" and under this 'Jose music' and «De Jose Pictures»  Dig a little and check them all to see if you can find your missing stuff.

    Just take a look in the Control Panel, add/remove programs to see if "missing" programs are still installed, but all not available when you are logged in (you don't have to 'do' something - just look at).

    Assuming that you can find your missing stuff, determine where we (which will make feel you better knowing that it is not really gone), then report back and someone can help you straighten things.

  • computer, not to open the photo files

    I just installed Microsoft Security and uninstalled Norton 360. Now I can't open/print image/jpeg/png files. Windows/Vista. Error message says "file not supported". Any help much appreciated.

    Hi Hilaryglanville,

    I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will certainly help the question of fixing.

    To help you suggest several steps to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
    1. you receive an error code or message?
    2. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?

    I suggest you to associate the photo files to open with the image viewer Windows or other applications which allows you to view the images.

    Please follow the methods and mark the question below:

    Method 1:
    You need perform a clean boot to prevent any third party app contradictory to interfere with your computer and check the issue.
    To put the computer in a clean boot state, you must follow the steps in the article mentioned below and check with the question.
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: You must follow the step 3 of the article mentioned above to recover your computer to a Normal startup after you complete all the steps.
    Method 2:

  • How can I get the tags on the Windows Photo Gallery to attach the photo file?

    In the past, I had problems with the tags disappear as if by magic of my photos after many hours of their entry.  A few years ago I tried, as a measure of precaution, to make the files read-only and eliminate a bunch of change permissions, thinking that might prevent data disappear.  (FYI: it didn't.)  Anyway, recently I have been seized all the tags through the Windows Photo Gallery (mistake #1).  Only problem was, I don't remember I had changed permissions (error #2).  I have since reset the permissions, but now I have a bunch of pictures with labels WPG, but not in the files themselves, and I know from experience that it will be a mistake to keep it like that.

    So the question is this: How can I transfer the WPG tags only to the photo files themselves?  (Please tell me that there is an easy way...)

    Hi mysteryg45,

    You can try to re - mark photos & check if the problem persists.

  • How to associate the photo files to the Windows or Windows Live Photo Gallery Photo Viewer viewer?

    I want to be able to associate the photo files to the Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery Photo Viewer viewer.  In both cases, I can't find the executable files.  I would like to know the file name and location.

    Hey healee.

    There is no executable file to the Windows Photo Viewer. It is not a stand-alone application. So you can't run it as an application rather it runs with dllhost.exe.

    Same information applies to Windows Live Photo Gallery.

    The dll for the photo viewer file is located here:C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll

    Coming to your point about the picture of opening attached files in Mozilla, you should be able to open the file with using Windows Photo Viewer open with which gives the possibility to choose the helper application.

    Kind regards

    I want only to scan slides and old pictures restoration and archiving using a recently bought Epson v-600 (always in the box). However I want specifically to integrate the text (metadata) such as captions or descriptions of each of the photo file. What software LR or PS would be more appropriate and easier to use? Running Win 8.1 on a desktop computer.

    Both will work, but Lightroom would be better to enter metadata in the image. and keep track of them. You get both with the Photoshop Lightroom bundle for $10 per month.

  • ImageIO reduced the size of my photo file?

    Hello

    I used the code below in an attempt to write an image file in the DB
    BufferedImage originalImage = ImageIO.read (new File("c:\\test.jpg"));)
    ByteArrayOutputStream Baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    ImageIO.write (originalImage, "jpg", baos);
    Baos.Flush ();
    Byte [] fileBytes = baos.toByteArray ();

    Save fileBytes DB if the column accepts the value of type BLOB.

    I used the code below in an attempt to read from the database and write to the file system.
    Bais ByteArrayInputStream = getFileBytesFromDB();
    The BufferedImage = ImageIO.read (bais);
    ImageIO.write (consulterles, "jpg", new File("c:\\test1.jpg"));)

    I noticed that the resulting file size has been reduced by almost half after writing to the file system. Anyone know why?
    :)

    As he says, do not use ImageIO. It's re-encoding JPEG format which is morphing your data. Just copy it in the form of bytes using input and output streams. Much faster, too.

  • File size shows 422 MB. I reduced the photos and rebooted and it shows still 422 MB. Program runs very slowly and stops while I'm editing.

    Muse works very slowly and stops while I'm editing. The file size is 422 MB. I have resized the pictures on the site, and reloaded. It shows still 422MB. My return carbonite says until there are 5 versions. I can't find many versions on my computer.

    A 187 MB file is large but are not rare. The .muse file size is entirely dependent on the size and complexity of your site.

    Where is stored the .muse file? It's on an internal drive, external hard drive, network drive, other?

    Please send the file 'MuseLog.txt' to the 'Documents' folder to my attention at [email protected] along with a link to this topic of forum for the context. The log should contain additional information about the 1034 (and any other error) you met. Thank you.

    If your site will develop continuously, it is good for the design and approach it like a series of "micro sites" - each published/uploaded to a folder on your domain. In this way individual "micro-sites" can be kept smaller and so will perform better in the Muse. For the visitor to the site, it looks like a Web site.

  • Controls the size of retouched Photo file

    When I edit a photo using the PS Express editor and save the edited jpg file, I find that there is a significant file size reduction (7.1 MB to 1 MB).  How can I save the modified file using the edited version and retain the same approximate file size than the original?

    I have the same question when I change using PS Express on my iPad.

    The differences in behavior between web and mobile versions are known, and at the time when they were designed, responding to the needs of the users or the realities of the platform for every type of environment.

    The quality setting used for saving the file is another design, choice that allows intentionally smaller size of the file (in bytes).  A lot of iPhone users and Photoshop Express iPad rely on our application to make quick changes before downloading and sharing.  Some users rely on 3G connectivity and prefer smaller file (in bytes) for a faster download.

    Regarding the last question that you mentioned, it seems that Photoshop Express the thumbnail and not the original RAW image.  Some cameras have a setting to save an image in RAW + Jpeg formats simultaneously.  If this is possible for you, please try this approach.  Otherwise, I recommend that you use iTunes - you import pictures into iTunes (which converts images to a size and a format suitable for Photoshop Express) and then sync them to your device.

    Thank you very much for your thoughtful and insightful comments on Photoshop Express!  Comments like yours is valuable, because it helps us to understand the evolution of the needs of our users.  If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you post your requests for features for quality and preservation of the resolution while editing the files here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. This will really help to increase the visibility of your request.

  • Increase the size of the default screen of the photo files open

    When I drag a picture file in Photoshop, it opens in a size much smaller than the workspace. (This is especially true with vertical photos [portrait]). Therefore, whenever I open a photo (and I do usually hundreds of times a day...), I drag the path right down to enlarge the image, and then I have to scroll the mouse wheel to photography to expand to fill the frame (approximately). Then only I see well enough to make the required adjustments in the file. Is there a way to tell Photoshop what size I want the photos appear in the workspace, so that it opens each new photo file size?

    I use Photoshop CS (not CS2 or CS3).

    Thank you very much for your help!

  • How to access the photo files in the Finder?

    I just updated my system to the picture and I can't access my images in the Finder - the show in Finder option file is not available. What should I do?

    The new Photos.app does not reveal the photos managed in the Finder, like iPhoto does.

    You can only reveal image referenced in the Finder, you manage yourself and have not been copied to the photo library.

    If you want to access the original image files that you have imported, use "file > export" save a copy on your desktop.

    The management of the files of origin in the Photos is much more complicated than in iPhoto, so it make much sense to reveal the originals. Photos can simultaneously have several copies of them--in the masters, in iCloud folder or in a folder with temporary items. And if you use "Optimize Mac Storage", there may be no files to reveal to all, because the only copy will be in iCloud and not on your Mac.

  • restore the photo files missing

    The files were not in the trash. They appear briefly in Exzoombroswer and Piacsa, but disappear after opening the program. I tried to resize a picture to email when it happpened. I remember something about "sharing". Which I ansered YES to.

    Here's a generic article on how to recover lost (including photos) files which can be useful:

    If you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky.  They have so-called saves shadow copies, which are deleted or modified files that can be recovered in case changes/deletions made by mistake.  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx more information about how to use this feature to: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=145.

    If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, shadow copies is not available; However, there is an alternative that is free and the shadow copies feature called Shadow Explorer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/recover-files-with-shadow-copies-on-any-version-of-windows-vista/.  Although it will not help you this time, it could very well save you in case this happens again.

    In case this does not work (not all files are available through shadow - it occurs periodically), here are some additional free recovery programs that might help (try Recuva):

    http://techpaul.WordPress.com/2008/06/23/how-to-recover-your-lost-files/

    The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace the data that you are trying to recover.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some or most or even all files - it's a matter of luck).

    Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they generally offer no guarantees.  The decision is yours.

    Good luck and I hope this helps!
