simulated sine! = circle?

Hello

I use a simulated signal to work on my application without a physical device. I get the picture as a signal and I wonder if that's okay? If the simulated signal uses an algorithm of sine, isn´t it supposed to be a circle on my screen?

Thank you!

It's a little more information. A xy trace will appear as a circle, if two signals are equal in frequency and phase. Both simulated channels are not equal in phase as explained in the help.

  • Get a UPS for a 51 x: Pure or simulated sine wave?

Long story short, the x 51 is my first office. I got in early 2013 (probably R1?) and have been very happy with it. A few months ago a power failure has occurred, and after that (and despite a surge protector) it became obvious that my graphics card was damaged and had to be replaced. A week ago I went to a friend and she had a UPS for his computer. I had not experienced anything as it existed and I'd like to get one since the power here is not reliable in the past months.

I've done the research, but my big question is: do x 51 computers require pure sine wave or would be mine to agree with simulated type? I continue to see Active PFC mentioned in critical UPS but I don't know if it's important or not for my machine. Someone said that the technology after that 2007 has and requires a pure sinusoid to work properly, that is why I fear that my computer needs it. I'm already trying to keep UPS devices which are more than 400 Watts, according to the recommendations I've seen on this site.

Any help would be great. Thank you!

I used a simulated sine wave (gradin sinewave) on my X 51 for years now (RS600 APC) - it works perfectly well despite numerous power cuts we have here (im in India). I'm using only a pure sine wave inverter (APC SmarUps 750) for my Entertainment Center (TV lcd, audio/video receiver, bluray, etc.).

Power supply for PC/Ada can handle simulated sinewave of sources very well. It is only the components of analog high-fidelity that actually benefit from a sinewave pure Ups imoh.

  • Signal simulation DAQmx

I am a new user and am confused by the signal provided by devices simulated in MAX and can't find an answer anywhere.  I'm using Labview 8.2, MAX 4.2, DAQmx 8.5, cDAQ-9172 and the DAQ Assistant, simulating a 9215 card.  I understand that the simulation is a noisy sinusoid, but what is the frequency of this wave?  It seems that you can change with sync settings in the Configuration Wizard panel.

It seems to me that sync settings would deal with the samples the 9215 incoming signal, right?  On the contrary, it seems that these timing parameters change the frequency of the signal itself.  For example, in the DAQ assistant, if I run a test field absorbing N samples and read samples of 1000 to 1 k Hz, I see a cycle of a noisy sinusoid which takes 1 sec.  If I read 100 samples at 1 k Hz, I see a noisy a sine wave cycle (with less resolution) which takes 100 ms.  This does not mean that my frequency signal has multiplied by 10?  I expected to see only a part of a sine wave had the original frequency remained the same.

Also, when I run using acquisition mode continuous sample it seems that the time required to go from Ridge to Ridge is different once again.  Here, he does not appear to make a difference in what is the sample size, but rather what is the sampling frequency.  1 k Hz, it takes about 10 seconds and 2 k Hz, it takes about 5 seconds.

Please be aware that as a newbie, I'm not far enough along to fully dissect the DAQ assistant VI to see what is happening, but who will be the next.  So, I would appreciate any simple explanations as to why I see what I am.

    Hi pfrank.

It is not documented, but the simulated sine wave (measured in samples) period appears to equal the size of memory enter task buffer, at least for the tasks of buffering. The size of the input buffer is based on various factors (finished/continuous samples, by channel, sampling frequency). These are explained in the NOR-DAQmx help file that is installed in the Start Menu under National's Instruments\NI-DAQ. Search for "How is the buffer size determined? (without the question mark)

The selection of N samples leads to the DAQ Assistant set the mode of the sample to over, so the size of the buffer is exactly equal to the samples per channel. If you select continuous samples instead, the size of the buffer will have the value 10 kS because the sampling frequency is between 100 s/s and 10 kech. / s and period of the sine wave will be 10000 samples. If this doesn't make sense, look at '' How is determined to buffer size? '' in the NOR-DAQmx help.

DAQmx does not support the provision of your own simulated devices simulated data. If you want to control the simulated signals, you need to add code to your application that replaces the data returned by DAQmx.

  • LabVIEW basics - Cahnging Boolean State question based on the input signal

    Hi all

I would like the State to change the Boolean indicator based on a simulated sine wave signal. I have partially managed to do this but need help to develop it.

See the attached vi. At the present time changes Boolean false to true when the value of the signal is greater than 8 or lower than-8.

    The focus I need is:

Once the signal passes more than 8 (and the Boolean value becomes true), I hope it becomes false again to a value of 9, but only after the peak value was passed or when the signal is down.

Similarly on the negative side of the graph, I want the Boolean value to become reality at 8-under, stay true until after the peak value was passed and then back to false when the value is greater than-9.

    Any suggeastions?

    Thank you

While Crossrulz responded, I had a little look.

  • Transformed Hilbert phase shift of 90 degrees

I am usig transformed from Hilbert to provide me with a shift of the phase of the signal of a UHF radar unit.

When I try to get the soft wave phase I get nothing. But when I replicate the output of the HIlbert and do a sinus I have the orginal without the phase shift wave.

When I use a simulated sine wave and use the transformed Hilbert for her, I get a wave that is shifted by 90 degrees.

So can you please help me with some splitters using Hilbert.

There the best solutions for the phase shift?

If you get a point at a time, use the version ptbypt as already mentioned. It includes a configurable size buffer.

  • Mystery, error-50103

OK, so I'm finally up to LV2009f3, making a few cDAQ work.

I add code for devices, one at a time and check them out.

(I use OR simulated chassis and features simulated - thank you, for that ability!)

When I add the extensometer (NOR-9237). I started getting an error (- 50103 - resource is reserved).

MAX said the jury works very well and gives me the simulated sine wave.

Boil my my program code, and it works fine by itself.

But when I try to do BOTH module 4 (9201) and module 6 (9237), I get the error.

Extract attached (like extracts, BTW) illustrates the code.

Before I added the thread error to force the strain gauge module to configure the voltage MODULE, I would get the error each time.

But, sometimes it would occur on the module of TENSION and sometimes on the module of DEFORMATION.

I could run several times and the error would come from one or the other, but it would occur every time.

So what are the rules here?  They are completely different modules, and yet something is temporarily tied up when I try to set them up in parallel.

It's a kind of race, judging by the error happening on one or the other.  A string claimed this "resource", and the other considers it occupied and complains.

However, the error is attributed to the vi START TASK.

What Miss me?  What are the rules about this?

  • Simulation of sine signals

    Hello

I'm trying to simulate sinusoidal signals like speed signals. With amplitudes of Min and Max 5 and 12 V. The beach is 10 Hz to 800 Hz. The output impedance should be 100 ohms and should be rising 800 Hz soft switchable scan @ 7% per second.

I configured the sliders for the amplitudes of the 5 - 12V, as well as for the frequency range. The wave freezes when the frequency is close to 800 Hz. I configured the sample to 8000Hz rate that is 10 times of 800 Hz still no appropriate waveform.

I also hurt in soft switchable scanning configuration and the impedance.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Thank you very much Dan_K.

I love your sinusoidal signal generation method. I would watch the impedance and frequency again sweep. You have been very helpful and informative.

  • Poor performance on Trainz Simulator 2

I play Trainz simulator 2 for the Macbook, and I seem to get low performance if I have high video settings or if I'm weak on battery. I would like some advice on what are the best settings for my graphics of Trainz.

    Here are my specs:

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inch, mid-2014)

    2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Iris 1536 MB Intel

    Welcome to Apple Support communities

The behavior you describe is normal. Your Mac's only got a GPU integrated, so he can fight with the games running in circles of high quality, and Macs are defined to reduce performance when they run out of battery (to avoid a stop).

The key is to find the right settings for your game to get a decent yield with good quality. Try to choose quality settings average and if that wasn't enough, low quality settings. A MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display is certainly not designed to play games with it.

  • HP forensic 39gII: simulation of mathematical routines Saturn?

(This discussion is NOT to debate on the judgment on the ability of calculator and accuracy!)

    Hello

While I am very interested to see a new generation of devices HP to come, I wondered about the genealogy of this new 39gII of family of HP, in particular read comment by Tim new codebase for this product:

"The 39gII, it's the beginning of a new brand, independent of the platform codebase for graphic HP calculators. It has been developed, designed, and written entirely in-house as a modern and flexible system. »

So I ran the well-known formula of forensic medicine (in degree mode):

Arcsin (arccos (arctan (tan (cos (sin (9)))

    who gives a 8.99999864267 on 39gii (ROM 39gII used: 2012 September 4, rev 18360)

By raising this result in a calculator very extensive database, it shows hp39gii seems to share the same routines mathematical than the Saturn-based models (including the 50 g) and not something new or derivative of older models (nuts, travel,...).

Although not a smoking gun, it's probably a pretty strong clue.

We would find relevant to HP indeed draw on proven algorithms and recognized.

So a question arises concerning the declaration of "new codebase": has plain emulation Saturn in recent products (such as 50 g) running real Saturn ROM in the ARM emulator, or a simulator of Saturn where same mathematical routines code has been rewritten again portable code compiled on the ARM (BTW giving the speed improvement drastic) went from HP?

Would be interested to hear about it?

Then I thought about the so-called e ^(i*pi) "bug" in HP39gii with eval to:

    (-1,-1,26676153736E-12) instead of-1

The same ran on HP50g and found:

    (-1, -2.06761537357E-13)

Then... both have the similar problem, but they are NOT the same result.

There is always a very interesting similar trend 6761537357 (rounded to 676153736 on 39gII).

If we assume 39gII simulation must match the ROM of origin of the product, there may be some effects secondary bug in 39gII.

Anyway, it would be great if the latest generation devices could actually improve this result and gives-1!

    No comments on these fidings?

    Thank you.

So the question is actually slightly more subtle while. This has to do with the way the parser evaluates the entrance.

What is done is that by pressing e ^ you return < constant > ^ (entry). This means that what is in fact calculated is the constane 'e' to the power of ' I * pi'.  Go ahead a put ' I * pi' evaluate the constant onto the stack on the 50g, e, Exchange and then perform a calculation of power. Let me know what you see... :-)

If you are on the 50g algebraics, by pressing e ^ inserts the EXP () function and this actually reveals exactly what is happening here. If you do EXP(i*pi) on the 39gII, you will discover exactly the same result as the 50 g.

The 39gII actually also corresponds with the 39gs as e ^ is a constant power - not the EXP function.

That being said, we now have the ability to have unique values or characters who, with the police limited, set previous calculators were not allowed. Maybe it's time to take a look at this and make the system or use a special character for the 'e' (similar to constant i) constant, or have a standard e ^ actually to be mapped to the EXP function internally as single 'e' will be the constant e.

Thank you for the interesting debate! I'll bring this up internally, and we'll talk about what we want to do here in the future.

  • Source a current Sine using USRP N210 with Labview

    Hello

I use USRP N210 with boards LFTX/RX for communication (electromagnetic Induction) cable and programming using LabVIEW and downloaded the drivers. I need to order the USRP to send a signal sine of 1 MHz through the barbed wire. I used the "Sine simulation block", but I'm not sure the block to which it must be connected to. Please let me know the steps or the blocks/screws that can be useful.

    Thank you.

    Hi Julie,.

I think you need to use the open niusrp and log screw

You don't need to use the configuration VI signal because I think that you can not set the frequency of the carrier on the Remora LFTX and LFRX.

I think you can use the sinus blocks of generation as shown in the picture as an attachment.

    Thank you.

  • output signals of the rectangle a PEAK sine wave conversion

    Hello

I have a question on the treatment of a PIC16F84 output signals. It seems that the simulation of Multisim does not work properly - but before I blame Multisim, I ask the community NOR or software engineers or a solution. Because I'm German, you are invited to continue this thread in German if it is allowed by the rules of the forum. If you need additional information to analyze my problem, I'll be happy to provide.

The circuit itself has to convert "composition by pulse" signals "tone" (DTMF tones). So you can get old, classic phones work on new devices that do not support the "composition of pulse" more.

The circuit is powered by the analog telephone line current loop line. The PIC is provided by a rudimentary voltage regulation and count pulse signals (voltage failures / power interruption on the telephone line). After that the captain means the series of impulses in their equal number (e.g. 3 pulses = number 3). The captain gives finally two signals with different frequencies to generate a DTMF tone (e.g. number 3 here is 697 and 1477Hz). As you can see in my PDF file attached, it works very well.

Now I have to convert the rectangle wave given by the captain to an at least similar to a sine wave form - otherwise the device that receives the DTMF tones won't understand them.

So I connected a low-pass filter at the output of the PIC. Now, expect the rectangle signal to be smooth in a way as the 'e-function' will (loading / discharging a capacitor through a resistor). But the results are very far from that - as you can see I have very strange curves.

When I implemented a frequency generator with the same output signal as the PEAK and the low pass filter even I get curves as expected.

So we can say that the output of the PIC works like a frequency generator in my circuit. But why does the filter not behave as it should?

I've tried a lot of different values for the parameters of my RC-filter and simulation - this does not solve the problem.

It would be nice if someone has any idea how to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

The output impedance of the PEAK may be too high. May be that my car 50 output? Try scaling of impedance of the filter.  Do the 10000 ohms resistance and capacitor 10 nF.

  • Simulation freezes Multisim

    Hi all

I played a bit with multisim for a few years now, but later began to really use the features of simulation of the program.  I noticed that transient analysis of the very basic circuits seem to work fine, but nothing more than (especially those using pwm controls) after bogged down as some ridiculously short period of time.  Also, before it freezes, things as the output of the oscilloscope function very slowly.  I have attached my circuit for reference and using all that you wonderful people out there.  What I am doing wrong?

The wizard of error correction is not really take care of the problem.

FYI, this is a converter circuit high power for which I would like to study the out performance characteristics by changing the frequency of the triangular wave or setting of the amplitude of the sine wave from 0 to 1. The goal is to produce a sinusoidal current output to the primary of the transformer.  The resistance of inductance and conductor of leakage have been modelled, as well as an inductive load on the secondary of the transformer.

    Thank you!

Yes, I tried for a few days and all the other typical timestep of bugs and it does not always work. The solution was to replace the igbt with the command switches in idealized voltage and barrier diodes schottky antiparallel... and on the ground of the transformer floating seconday. It works now
