  I'm under the impression that RAW get no extra treatment. But I am learning to look at my images in new ways. Something does not match. It seems that the noise reduction is applied to RAW images. My mind will explode very quickly if someone put me straight.

  Long exposure noise reduction is applied directly to RAW.  It is "destructive", burned in the file.  It takes readings of noise since the second "dark" and subtracted them from the first image and creates a unique RAW out of it.

  In contrast to high ISO noise is quote as a parameter.  Programs like Lightroom, it will ignore, but some programs such as Canon DPP apply import.  I use it so I can't say with certainty, but I guess that you can adjust it because it is just a parameter.

  How to save a binary image in a computer? If I right click on the image, then choose "Save Image... ', the saved image will appear empty. I understand that the image is in 0 and 1 but I do not know how to implement the code.

• Saving binary Image with overlay?

  I'm having some trouble in saving an image with overlay information. I use IMAQ find circles to measure the rays of the holes in a binary image. Hole data is then used with oval Overlay IMAQ, draw on ovals to highlight detected circles. Works very well and the image is displayed as expected in the output of the image on the screen, the palette has the binary value. (See the second image of 3, below)

  When I try and save the image in PNG I just get a blank image (black). If I use the overlay IMAQ merge tool, I just get the green circles on the black (see the last picture of 3 below). Is there something I'm missing with pallets/fusion? Any help much appreciated. Snapshot of the (messy) code attached.

  The problem is that the binary image is all zeros and ones.  A normal image goes up to 255, so the value 1 appears black.

  One solution is to multiply the binary image of 255, which makes the image black and white.

  I have an image that I play with Vision Assistant. I used the threshold function for binarise, and I have now two blobs straightish separate in the right corner below. I want to be able to detect the outer edges of this pair of bloba, but can't seem to do it using the edge detector or Straight Edge tools.

  Most of the failure of a difference of 20 or more edge edge detection routines.  Since it is a binary image, the difference to the edge is 1.  You can set the contrast of the min on 1 edge detection routines, or multiply your binary image of 255 to get the high contrast edges.  I like the multiplication because it is quick and easy.

• Question about the reduction of noise/hiss & fade in and out

  Hello I am new to hearing. I use Audition CS5.5. I was wondering how I can remove the "whistling" singing (whenever the words with "s" or "EC" are sung as "silence" or "stones"). I have a multitrack project open and I have the vocal track selected, but the function "hiss reduction" Effects-> noise reduction/restoration is gray. Similarly, "noise reduction" and "capture point noise" is also grayed out (even if I have a section of the track selected with the time selection tool). Why are these unusable?

  Another question is how can I add fade in/out effects in multitrack view? I know that I can draw lines for the fade in and out while a single track is selected, but I always like to use multitrack view, while working so that I could easily move the vocals to match the music.

  Noise reduction is an effect that only works in Edit/Waveform mode.  It doesn't have multitrack real-time.

  However what you're saying, your problem is the sibilance not "whistling" anyway.  Hiss reduction is there to get a constant background hissing like a pre amp out in noisy mic.  You may do better by using what is called a De-Esser which you find in the FFT filter under filters and EQ or compressor multiband in the effects of Amplitude and Compression.  I must be a bit vague because I've never bothered with CS5.5 in order to remember here is that it was these effects.

  On your other question, you have "volume envelopes" in multitrack view and can 'draw lines' it too.  If you do not get them, go to the view menu and make sure that "Show Clip Volume envelopes" is checked.

• Video editing in PS: how to create random noise on each image

  I do a lot of video editing in PS with my DSLR video files, because I like how PS treats the colours etc and I'm used to all the corrections due to image editing. It needs time for the export/rendering, but for me it is worth.

  I'm not really satisfied with the plugins in video editors that simulate the grain, so I thought that I can do better in PS. I created a grain/noise, who expects a lot from me. I created a new layer with noise created with the original PS-noise-plugin and adjust the mode of fusion etc to achieve a look that I like, and it looks great when the movie does not play.

  When the movie/animation plays the film will play under this layer of static noise that is unnatural looking.

  I want to achieve is that the PS will be made the layer of noise for each new image (creating an individual noise for each image layer) so that the film is natural looking.

  So I suppose you could create an animation of noise and that are superimposed as a smart object, too.

  Depending on how long it is supposed to be to avoind, noticing the repetition just create as many noise-layers in a separate file, use the images made of layers and file > export > rendered video.

  Or you could create greater noise layer and around shuffle manually in the animation timeline.

  But maybe someone else has more insight in this matter.

  When you level one image, by default change value for pixels seuillees is 1. If you save the image and reopen more (or later), you will see a black image, unless view you it with a binary palette.

  You can specify a replacement value to say 255 when you threshold the image, or it even with IMAQ equalize before you save it.

  You can then use the standard VI to save the image (IMAQ write file 2).

I recently installed Adobe Audition7.2 on my windows 8.1 and I noticed the button sound recording from the microphone inside the program is disabled while at the same time, I could record using other programs on my windows. I worked with my AU and eliminate the background of an old audio recorded sample. ((mon micro intégré est donc bruyant) noise) I chose a very noisy place and crossed the effect / noise noise reduction of the restrictions/print capture. And then I went through effect / restrictions/noise reduction noise reduction process and apply the settings. Although it works and my sample file has improved (without noise), I encountered another problem, my mic does not work normally both in AU and other windows software. The recorded sound now go offshore and (rough) while recording. How can I solve the problem?

  If your microphone is sounding restless that you save (rather), there is problem on your Windows sound settings. As Steve G suggested it sounds like a form of blocking to reduce the noise. I don't know if this is an effect that Windows 8.1 can do to the incoming audio signal. If you find a way to turn it off.

  This can be done using a text-to-Image Converter. Here is a link to an excellent, I have used before: http://www.text-image.com/convert/

  It's very simple, you simply upload your image, select the number of characters you want to include (in your case for binary, you can type 01 or 0-). You can also select color or black and white. Finally, click on convert and you're all set. You can copy and beyond the image created.
