Estoy planteandome the mi VC redundancia y mi entorno Comics: vc Server fisico, BD price en servidor fisico

Me he planteado 3 options:

  1. Cluster MSCS VC y DB

  2. VMWare Hearthbeat

  3. Segundo VC (auto service), SQL en el - & gt; called BD desde el servidor origen of comics.

If are an image of the original machine, no recuerdo cada cuanto tiempo, pero tienen unas password what intercambian con los drivers of dominio y caducan. SE pueden regenerar con el comando netdom resetpwd (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325850) por otra parte, al ser a contingencia sistema, no seria no problema el vCenter ago you funcionaria igual aunque el equipo no estuviese in el dominio, aunque tal vez tengas problemas para validarte contra el con el viclient. In any case, con el netdom lo tienes arreglado.

    No.... Related modes do not provide high availability to vCenters, just a single pane of glass with lens for example of ease of management and license sharing.

    I'm a little confused here. I have 2 hosts in a cluster. The two hosts have 2 NIC assigned to the vSwitch where is the IP address of management but a question "Configuration"... show host

    "Host gimp1.houseofpain.org currently has no management network redundancy.

    The two hosts are configured the same, and all ports on both hosts (for the vSwitch) indicate link status upward with 1000 MB sync speed.

    COP shows Port correct ID on both connections for two guests.

    Anywhere else I need to check?

    That's how it should be, I wanted to just make sure that it is not a simple configuration problem.

    Did you try a "reconfigure for HA" on the host or disable/enable HA still?

    We have seen it work on every vSphere + solution EQL, we have deployed over the years. Most of the customers don't see it because the have not configured notification of special alarm on vCenter.

    The 'problem' produced once per week or month. Most of the time not all data warehouses are performed and also not all hosts. The reconnection is made in the same second, and we don't see never liked problem here. The bad news, it's that you get emails with false-positive alarm.

  • Long distance vmotion and cross-vcenter vmotion are incompatible, with MRS?

    We plan our updates of 5.5 to 6.0. Two sites have involved SRM. We would like to be able to deploy to make long distance and cross-vCenter vMotion possible in the future. However it seems that these may be incompatible with MRS.

    Cross-vCenter vMotion requires enhanced link mode. Improved link mode requires the vCenters using the same PSC. A dependency between the protected site and recovery site that would be created by putting the two SRM vCenters in bound mode is a non-starter. You must be able to connect to your vCenter site recovery if the protected site is swept away by a tornado.

    The answer is maybe; Cross-vCenter vMotion is not compatible with SRM unless you create the deployment model with PSC servers redundant load balancing. Locate a CFP that is geographically separated from the protected site. Even in this scenario, it is clear to me if you would have to re-pointer the vCenter site disaster recovery. Again, I think that increased vMotion requires literally the 2 vCenters to be directed to the * same * PSC, CSP not only in the same SSO domain.

    I have a box to open with VMware and I'll share the results if it is useful. The two protected site site and recovery use our company Active Directory as an identity source, but I don't think it will help us if we are in bound mode and lose a PSC.

    Well, the weakness of my logic is in bound mode extended vCenters must point to the * same * PSC.  At least in SRM 6.1 there is some good news here.

  • Multi-NIC vMotion with ESXi/vCenter 4.1

    We take running ESXi and vCenter 4.1 and after the secure Channel secure Channel 5.5 class and sitting for my exam in a few weeks, I have actively tried to improve our environment. Previously, to the study and trying to learn more about VMware, we were in pretty bad condition. Relevant material (AMD, Intel CPU, generations of Intel CPU, amount of RAM and CPU), versions hyperviosr Mismatched ESXi and ESX and no redundancy, vmotion and TONS of snapshots as backups.

    In the two weeks since my course, I have eliminated all snapshots (performance daily vCheck to check on the health of the venvironment), emigrated to 5 similar hosts (and memory/cpu configurations) that we had to drag do not, connected to all ports card NETWORK 6 to 2 x 3560g cisco switches and connected the second switch updated ESX to ESXi 4.1 and patched all hosts with Update Manager (nobody used), created the host profiles and compliance on the cluster and hosts, activated DRS and HA, set up a couple of VAPP for STM systems... the list is long

    I still have a lot to learn, but now I'm a bit confused about one thing...

    We use Fibre Channel SAN, one side get our second Fibre Channel switch hooked up for redundancy and I guess that Multi - pathing (?) I have a couple questions question...

    1. set up the second fiber switch would give me several warehouses of data, correct paths?

    2 can I create and separate vMotion in our configuration, using the CF WITHOUT? Any flow of traffic (for vmotion) through the vswitches or he remains behind the FC switch?

    -I know with iSCSI, you want to create a vSwitche separated and installation multi-nic vmotion

    With regard to the topic of discussion: Multi-NIC vMotion introduced with vSphere 5.x and is not available in earlier versions.

    1.) Multipathing is not related the number of FC switches, but only for the number of initiator and target. However, using several CF toggle availability increases due to redundancy.

    2.) you must differentiate here. vMotion is a live VM migration process to other hosts, i.e. only the workload of the migration. vMotion only uses the network. Storage vMotion on the other side generally used storage connections - i.e. the CF in your case - to migrate files/folders to the virtual machine.

    3.) redundancy for management traffic can be reached in several ways. The easiest is to simply assign multiple uplinks (vmnic) to vSwitch network management. So, a simple 'Netowrk management' will do, and redundancy is made based on recovery of the vSwitch.

    From a design point of view you can use multiple vSwitches for different traffic types, or combine them on a vSwitch by configuring the failover policies for groups (Active/Standby/Unused) port for example.

    All first use SRM you will need a vCenter Site recovery too, and on recovery in protected site vCenter, SRM will be repeated this virtual machine on the recovery as a normal VM site.

    You won't have a HT or KPI for it - it's a fault. This flaw is already a heavy weight against the health score for the host system resources. You cannot make a heatmap specific defects, but you can make a heatmap of the host systems and view the badge | Score of fault, which will include your flaws. Then maybe have an Alert widget, so that when you click on the host system in the heatmap, interaction will spend this resource in the alert widget, with the defined alert widget to display only the defects... and there are go.

    No, you don't have to present LUNS to storage the vCenter Server (if installed on the physical host). It is recommended to have a redundant between the hosts of ESXi and vCenter network connectivity since that is how the pulse information is shared. In most facilities vCenter is a VM and if that's what you have, then you can srtike this step to present LUNS to the vCenter VM. The storage is configured between ESXi hosts and LUNS and vCenter offers a management interface to create/remove the virtual machines on the underlying storage.

  • SAN / RAID / vCenter number

    Interesting day today.

    We have a virtualized environment 5.1 mixed with light clients Sunray and Solaris 10. We have load-balanced Terminal servers and the virtual machine running the load balancing software was inadmissible, as the domain controller. In fact, 4 of our 10 guests were inadmissible. No one could connect so we have to try to determine what it was. First tried to get guests in the data center. After a lot of troubleshooting and a few reboots, we managed to get the hosts back in and operational things. Except that we found that a number of servers is grayed out and "inaccessible". Fortunately, we had backups VMDK so they have been restored and troubleshooting more has taken place.

    It seems that the data store containing the load balancer and the DC went offline at 03:30, and some time later re-presented as a disk empty. I re-read the HBA and the storage and then tried to readd and was the screen I've met:

    Our SAN is a Fujitsu DX90 and I have a ticket open with Fujitsu but I reason to assume that this is a problem with the RAID on the SAN? I'm sure that's not CF related that we would see a host of other problems of connection. I followed this KB on the identification of records and trying to access the volume through SSH: http://goo.gl/QHJV1 - but, so far, I have managed to get the volume. Which leads me to believe that he is in fact a question RAID.

    My other question is the SAN are smart enough to do something if a RAID goes down? Should not be some sort of redundancy? And if not what you might find on a newer SAN?

    Or was it due to vCenter and something wrong at 03:30 thus wiping the RAID?

    Problem solved. I think that we had a reservation for SCSI.

    Restarted guests, out of the reserve of LUN on the interface graphics of SAN, reread and we're back in business.

  • alert the uplink network redundancy lost

    VCenter has an uplink lost redundancy alert network, which takes about 5 days. The alert cannot be recognized or green value, because the option is grayed out. VCenter client does not show the cards down. A few questions

    -How can the alert being erased?

    -Where should I look for the question? I checked the network adapters on the host's configuration in vcenter client. Where would be ESXI connect alerts for this problem?

    It's vCenter.  Alarms are sometimes "buggy".

    I have attached photos of the host > Configuration > network and host > Configuration > network cards pages. It seems to me that the management network is behind 2 NIC's team together.

  • ESXI hosts 5-2 and the best way to configure vSwitch and Nic redundancy

    Could someone help me find the best way to configure the vNetwork on 2 5 ESXI host for redundancy.  Once I managed to correctly configure the 2 hosts I will seek to use the same installation process for 6 guests.  3 sites with 2 hosts on each site managed all of vCentre Server

    I have 2 DL380 G7 servers 5 ESXI installed on a class 10, 8 GB SD card, I'm looking to install VSA on the 2 hosts on each server with 4 TB of internal storage (8 * 600 GB 10 k SAS).  Each server has a gigabit integrated 4-port NIC and I installed a 2nd NIC gigabit PCIe 4 ports, I also x 2 16 switches of port with Layer 3 routing.  I use vSphere 5 Standard acceleration Kit I am looking to use vCentre server for managing, vMotion for maintenance, HA for the failover and VM 10/15 (vCentre Server Std, DB SQL to vCentre Server, Exchange 2010, SQL Server 2008 R2, IIS Intranet, Helpdesk, 1 DC, 2 Domain Controller, AV Server, WSUS, SCCM Server, and Terminal Server server).

    What would be the best way to install and configure the network for performance and redundancy and am I missing something?

    My thoughts are, Teaming: -.

    vCenter - vswitch0 - port1 on NIC1 and port1 on NIC 2 - port1 on NIC1 to physical switch 1 - port1 on NIC2 to physical switch 2

    vMotion - vswitch1 - port2 on NIC1 and port2on NIC 2 - port2 on NIC1 to physical switch 1 - port2 on NIC2 to physical switch 2

    HA - vswitch3 - port3 on NIC1 and port3on NIC 2 - port3 on NIC1 physics 1 - port3 on NIC2 to physical switch 2 switch

    VM - vswitch4 - port4 on NIC1 and port4on NIC 2 - port4 on NIC1 to physical switch 1 - port4 on NIC2 to physical switch 2

    or do I need an additional NIC on each server to hit the VM 12-6 VM for 2 ports on 2 NETWORK interface card, or maybe something else I missed?

    In your case, to keep it simple and what I can say here is what would be my recommendation:

    3 standard vSwitches

    vSwitch0:

    • Management - vmnic0, vmnic2

    vSwitch1:

    • vMotion - vmnic1, vmnic3

    vSwitch2:

    • VM network - vmnic4, vmnic5, vmnic6, vmnic7

    The only reason why that I didn't split the VM in other network adapters shipped is because the difference in the types of the DL380 adapter shipped and the PCIe quad.
