alert the uplink network redundancy lost

VCenter has an uplink lost redundancy alert network, which takes about 5 days. The alert cannot be recognized or green value, because the option is grayed out. VCenter client does not show the cards down. A few questions

-How can the alert being erased?

-Where should I look for the question? I checked the network adapters on the host's configuration in vcenter client. Where would be ESXI connect alerts for this problem?

It's vCenter.  Alarms are sometimes "buggy".

  • Create alarm "Network redundancy lost" by the script?

    Hello:

I'm trying to write a script that will create the alarm in order to monitor the redundancy of the lost network (I know manually there) on the host.

I know how to create alarm for additional exhibit the ' basic' event (LucD - thank you for your help) and I know that I have for alarm 'Lost network redundancy' to use 'vprob.net.redundancy.lost' instead of 'EnteringMaintenanceModeEvent' (as in my example); but I still struggle to combine...

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

I don't have a particular script fantasy with the settings and all the rest, but I can show you the steps to filter alarms by name and remove the desired one.

    alarm #retrieve Manager

    $alarmManager = get-view-Id "AlarmManager-AlarmManager.

#Get the entity that contains the alarm that you want to remove. I'll do it for a virtual machine

    $entityView = get-Vm-name MyVm | Get-View

    #get all MoRefs alarm

    $alarmMoRefList = $alarmManager.GetAlarm($entityView.MoRef)

#Retrieve tha alarm views from the MoRefs

    $alarmViewList = $alarmMoRefList | foreach (Get-view $_)

    #Now filter the name alrams

    $alarmToDelete = $alarmViewList | where {$_.Info.Name - eq "AlarmToDelete"}

    #Finally remove alarms

    $alarmToDelete.RemoveAlarm)

It shouldn't be hard to put this in a script or function reussable. If you have problems with this, I'll be happy to help you again!

  • Alert - lost redundancy Uplink Network trap

Is there a way to find this alert via PowerCLI?  I often get this alert and need to put in place an alert by e-mail when this happens, but I do not Get-VIEvent but it is in the console under alarms.

To obtain the host name, you can do it like this:

    Get-VIEvent -Start (Get-Date).AddDays(-7) -MaxSamples 99999 | `
    Where-Object {$_.GetType().Name -eq "EventEx" -and $_.EventTypeID -eq "vprob.net.redundancy.lost"} | `
    Select-Object -Property EventTypeId,Severity,CreatedTime,@{N="VMHost";E={$_.Host.Name}}

  • "Network connectivity lost" alert - how to find which NIC is it?

Hi, we cluster with VCenter 5.5 HA and 2 X ESXi servers.

    Each host has 4 NIC

One of the host's alert 'Network connectivity lost' that was triggered 02:00 in the morning. Is to verify that NIC is this anyway?

The events tab says know as NIC.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You should see some sort of event in the user interface and the vmkernal.log and vobd.log.

  • Updated IE7 to IE8 and lost my network connection, get the error "network cable is unplugged" which is not

After upgrade, network display icon with a red X through it indicating "network cable is unplugged" - which is not.  System Restore gave me back IE7, but without two of the toolbars (I've since found the fix for this - but too late).  Tried a system restore and now completely lost internet connection - IE will not launch.  Always get the message "network cable is unplugged".   I have reset the modem, but nothing works... should I ask Microsoft, HP, or my service provider (Rogers)?

    Thank you

    Christine

    Hello MsC_99

Check the modem on the back of the system where the cable ether net branch. Think you that shed light on this subject? If this is not the case then you may have a problem with the NIC or ether net cable may have problems. If you do this then try uninstalling and reinstaling the NIC in Device Manager. If you don't see the network adapter in Device Manager then try booing the system BIOS and make sure that he is seen here. Let me know what you find. Thank you.
  • How to disable the alarm management of network redundancy

    Hello

Could you please tell me how to disable the alarm of redundancy of management network.

    concerning

    Surya

Add the following parameter and the value true in AP advanced options:

    das.ignoreRedundantNetWarning

Once done do a reconfigure for HA on the ESX servers and it will not display the warning.

One thing to note is that it is not advisable to set this parameter.  To correctly resolve the issue so that the warning is not displayed, add a second card NETWORK in the vSwitch console or a second management network.

    See you soon,.

  • Network connectivity lost every 24 hours after the migration of DVS

Hello community...  Well, I'm puzzled again.  I am running a vSphere 5.5 U3 environment with the latest patch.  I'm going through certification VCP - VTC prep and decided to migrate my (lab at home) environment of standard virtual switches to virtual switches distributed as I have not had a lot of experience with them so far.  Migration seems to be okay.  Before migrating, I used three different 1 Gbit/s links a group of hash LACP-IP on my standard vSwitch.  I have several VLANs for different laboratory networks.  One is specifically used as a DMZ for the WAN to my ISP connectivity.  I created a virtual machine for use as a firewall with multiple network cards, which one is connected to this VLAN WAN.  On the standard vSwitch seemed to work exactly as expected.  For some reason any after moving to a DVS, the firewall VM needs to be recharged all morning before the full network connectivity is restored.  It's a strange problem.  I tried to re - create the virtual machine and play with the security settings of DvPortgroup, but the problem persists.  Anyone out there have any ideas as to what could cause this?

Oh, a little more in detail...  I moved from hash balancing LACP/IP road based on the physical NIC load with the migration to DVS.  Remove groups from the aggregation of connection of the switch too.

Well, change of load balancing policy and upgrade the DvSwitch to version 6 did not help.  However, I stopped the machine virtual and added 4 E1000 NIC as a test.  I've reconfigured the firewall VM to use the new cards instead of the VMXNET3.  Load Balancing has changed back to "load depending on the physical NETWORK card" and always use VGT to separate traffic.  From now on, he went the longest without experiencing the issue so far.  About 16 hours so far without having to restart the virtual machine.  Will keep posted guys.

  • Lost connection to the local network

I have a Latitude D420. The wireless connection works fine, but when I connect an ethernet cable to the port, nothing happens. If I restart my computer with the cable in place, clear amber at the rear lights and remains until the login page appears. Then, when I choose a user icon to open a session (any user), the light turns off and the light indicating the connection on my router. When I look at "All network connections", the connection to the LAN does not - only the wireless and 1394. In Device Manager, connect to the local network does not appear.

It seems that the ethernet card may have been fried, as the light comes on for a while. Someone at - it ideas? Thank you very much.

  • network connection lost alarm

    Hello

alarm sails host shows "Lost network connectivity" and "Network of uplink redundancy lost" errors in vCenter red Rectangle symbol and came on the host, but all VM and servises performs very well what was the reason for this alarm and what is the solution for this.

In this case it could have been a temporary problem with the network, which is already solved. To get rid of the alarm message, you will need recognize/reset the alarm.

  • Important: Redundancy lost for BE6K UCS C220 M3S PSU_REDUNDANCY

    Hello team,

We have several deployments based on servers UCS C220 M3 (the famous BE6K) UA.

I'm not derived from systems, I'm a guy of the voice.

In fact, the UCS BE6K C220 M3 comes by default with a single power supply.

However, in the MMIC, we find many times that an alert is triggered for the redundancy of power and the system LED turns into continuous light.

Here's the warning: PSU_REDUNDANCY: PS redundancy sensor, redundancy Lost said

We do not understand why this alert is triggered when we already know that the BE6K server contains only a power supply?

What is a real problem or a false alarm?

    How we clear this alert?

In fact the system LED is orange isn't bodes well from the perspective of the customer. As well as when let us it stay in the State of the orange light, we would be not only a more serious problem (and real) can happen?

    The MMIC version is: 1.5.4f

    Please notify.

Unfortunately not (that I know) but if you go to loopholes in the Server tab, you should be able to view a summary of alerts and check what is happening.

If it is useful, please rate... If it answers your question, please mark as well for future users.

  • Configuration of multiple VLANs on the Campus network up to 800 users

    Hi all

I design a network for our client who has a campus network to:

currently: 250 users, near future Expansion (3Months): up to 650 users; Future users of 1000 Expansion(6_Months):upto

There are various services such as students, teachers, Admin, accounts & WiFi. Now they have HP/3Com switches all connected in a single broadcast domain.

Now, to put the differnet deptts. in different VLANS, I plan to physically initially isolate them & use a multilayer Cisco switch only the basis for the configuration of VLAN for each Department. This way the used switches will simply serve as switches access (no config necessary).

The new switch will be connected to a WAN/Internet router already in place i.e. of 1841.

Please Q) suggest a switch appropriate in this regard, t manage users (from 250 to 1000)? such as a 3500 or 3700.

Q2) given that most of the user groups will be connected on the separate Uplink port on the new switch, what is the level of redundancy should we have? that is, only the redundant power supply is enough or we will have 24 port switches QTY: 2 for full redundancy?

Q3) can we have different connections of VLANS on a single switch uplink Port, & more switch can make the difference on the basis of the subnet ID?

Q4) Im not sure how I connect WiFi access points that are installed as independent flanges at the moment? They should also be connected to the trunk on the new switch Port of VLAN?

We will also have a domain controller, Server Server & Proxy DHCP on the network that will be connetected on the port of Siwtch (trunk) to serve all the VLANS.

    Kind regards

    Re-

    Hi Tek,

Please see the below comments for your plan and hope that will help you.

Please Q) suggest a switch appropriate in this regard, t manage users (from 250 to 1000)? such as a 3500 or 3700.
I suggest you to go with 3750 24 ports switch (if your budget is ok then go with future expansions seen 4506)

Q2) given that most of the user groups will be connected on the separate Uplink port on the new switch, what is the level of redundancy should we have? that is, only the redundant power supply is enough or we will have 24 port switches QTY: 2 for full redundancy?

If you need redundancy of the connection between the switch access and distribution, please go with STP where you will have a pathname (physical connection) active and a different path (another physical connection) is pending.

Q3) can we have different connections of VLANS on a single switch uplink Port, & more switch can make the difference on the basis of the subnet ID?
Yes, if you have configured this port as a trunk port who wear all the VLANS on the trunk and you can assign the vlan desigered to the specific physical port.

We will also have a domain controller, Server Server & Proxy DHCP on the network that will be connetected on the port of Siwtch (trunk) to serve all the VLANS.
You can have DHCP to assign IP addresses to computers in the vlan specific by adding the command to support ip under the vlan specific.

    Please note the useful messages.
    Kind regards
    Nasri.

    Hi all!

My laptop has had a big problem and HARD drive crashed. Unfortunately I lost all the data with no chance to recover anything. I installed a new HARD drive. I installed Win XP - SP3.

But I'm unable to install the wireless network. I continue to pass the button in front of the laptop - nothing. I type the combination Fn + F8 - nothing. I think that I have not installed the driver corectly.

P.S. - of course, I lost the CD.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

    > I think that I have not installed the driver corectly.
Then you need to (re) install the WLAN driver. Otherwise, you are not able to use the WLAN connection correctly.

Anyway, your model is listed on official Toshiba US page so that you can get all the drivers:
