Reentrant PtbyPt increment

Under the heading other PtbyPt functions, we increment Ptby Pt and decrement, PtbyPt.  Real estate execution VI, reentrancy is set to Preallocated incoming clone of execution.  Does this mean I can use VI to count several things? If this VI can be used for several meters, how LabVIEw keep track?

Each call has its own set of data.  So the VI called in the init case are different from those in the case of 1 meter or 2 meters.  If you have really 6 counters in your VI.  Need proof?  Put a looop FOR around your VI and have to go twice.  You will notice that you will get 10 to 1 meter in the meter case 1.  It has not been reset as you wanted to happen in the case of the init, because these calls in the case of the init are different instances than in the case of meter 1.

  • Server gave the incremental number of volume

After the upgrade to the latest version, the server has added a number of incremental volume name in all its parameters.

So my Cache files are on/Volumes/1 Server / server function, even if the disk is only named "Server."

It seems to work but I don't know why he did it, and I don't want it to happen again. It can affect things like backup locations.

No idea how to restore it without messing up all my settings?

This kind of problem is most typical when you have an external hard drive or a second partition or volume on your drive internal. What can happen sometimes, it's when the Mac is stopped or restarted it can miss things neatly up to: basically, it leaves an entry in /Volumes which should normally be automatically deleted.

When the Mac then starts and goes up the different volumes, he sees the previous left on entry and rightly then adds a number to get around this, to make it unique.

I would therefore use Terminal.app and the following command

    ls-l /Volumes

and tell us what is indicated.

Some server configurations may Mac came with two players initially and both can have the same original name.

Another possibility is that if you have already used a RAID1 configuration which is mirrored in the volume of server and this RAID broke, and then risk copies of the disk server being listed.

  • READYNAS using Readycloud Desktop App - incremental backup?

    Hi guys,.

Have been using my ReadNAS for some time and it is great, just recently tried the application backup on ReadyCloud and the conclusion that it is always indexing or download.

Just test it with a single file that contains the data of 6 GB. I wish a backup where only files updated the incremental was saved but it seems index of all of the directory and then download the entire dam every time thing!

    Am I missing something here?

I use Windows Desktop App 10.

If the ReadyCloud desktop application can't make incremental backups, to suggestions for an alternative?

    Thank you.

Of course, just used Windows file historical, not good for off site however as a NAS device is in the same office, it is fine for now.

    See you soon

I saw the download of the product page, and there are a lot of BIOS updates since then. I would like to know if I only need flash later a (previous updates contained) or flash of this current one by one (incremental) version?

The latest version of the BIOS is normally a roll-up of all previous updates, so no need to do all of them.

  • Can I probe a member of class reentrante clone dynamically shared a reshipment vi?

Please, there must be a way.

Currently, I am forced to change the execution not reentrant VI, to debug and then go back to running reentrante shared clone.  Of course, there is a reason, so it's not ideal I on re-entrant execution.

    Any ideas?

    AnthonV wrote:

It seems there is no way to probe an overloaded dynamically dispatched Member vi if it is reentrant?

No, it's easy probing such a VI, If you can open the front panel.  You cannot open the FP in the usual way, but there are several ways to do so.  Putting a breakpoint in the "original copy" of the VI will also breakpoints in clones, forcing them to open their public Service.  Also, try clicking the Subvi and selecting the menu option "call Subvi Setup...". ', then 'See the façade when it is called' (or do it for all the clones in the VI properties).  You can also use debugging tools "Step by step" to "enter in" the Subvi call.  And VI master, you can select "view > navigate relationships > incoming points" to open clones.

Additional caveat: unless your on in real time, in which case ur stuck.

  • cDAQ-9178 & NI 9401 - ASM: incremental Rotary encoder works is not beyond a certain frequency

I use a chassis with a NI 9401 DIO module 9178 cDAQ.  I'm trying to convert the output of a rotary incremental encoder ASM (in radians) to rpm.

    Sensing head (PMIS4-20-50-240kHz-TTL24V-Z0-2M-S)

    Snap ring (PMIR7N-20-50-M-20)

The encoder outputs 2500 pulses per rev (output 5V TTL).  The maximum speed which will see the encoder is 2800 rpm, which is equivalent to 2800 RPM * 2500ppr/60 = 116,667.67 Hz in terms of frequency.

Since the NI 9401 of the operations specifications:

Maximum of the input signal switching frequency by the number of input channels, by channel

    8 input channels... 9 MHz
    4 input channels... 16 MHz
    2 input channels... 30 MHz

I use only 1 channel, so I'm assuming that the 9401 should be more than capable of handling the 116kHz which the ASM encoder is spit.

Everything works fine until about 2100 RPM (~ 87, 500 Hz) but then I begin to see a drop in rpm, followed by a flattened behavior, then a slight increase. But never more than 2100 RPM.  Our test unit is inspected for other reasons at the moment so I can't produce a plot of the behavior (I can reupload later).  I think this must be a matter of aliasing with the meter or something of the sort.  I have a digital filter set in place with a minimum of 4.0E pulse width - 6.  It is two times smaller than the width of minimum pulse at a frequency of 116kHz (0.0000085714).  I don't think this should have an impact on the calculation.

Any suggestions? This value of RPM is essential to our application.

    Thanks in advance,

    -MB

A 116 kHz frequency, the period is ~8.57 us, but the pulse width half duty cycle of 50%.  Ascent/descent time factor, and it is quite possible that 4 US is too long for your encoder signal.

The shape of this graph supports this theory, if we consider that there is variation in the exact pulse of each encoder pulse width.  The shortest pulse is ignored when the filter starts to kick in, and the speed of ROTATION increases pulses longer and longer are ignored then as well.

Try to decrease the minimum pulse of digital filter (US 2 or even 1 US) width and see how it goes.

  • 'Variance PtByPt.vi' generates values of negative values for some input

With certain sequences of input values the Gap PtByPt.vi can generate negative values. It is because of the precision in calculations.

Because it is very common to calculate the gap by taking the square root of the variance, this behavior can take you by surprise because the result will be Nan and not almost 0 you expect. According to the data, this may be frequent or very frequent. In general, a nuisance to debug.

The remedy is simple: take the Abs() before the square root value. A vi that demonstrates the case is attached.

I would suggest to include this correction (or similar) in the "Variance PtByPt.vi' because it gives rise to unexpected and hard to find errors.

By definition - variance cannot be negative.

CAR 446514 discussed in this thread has been corrected in LabVIEW 2014.  For a more complete list of bugs fixed in LabVIEW 2014, see 2014 LabVIEW bugfixes. • How to increment the index of row/column in multi-column listbox

    Hello

I developed a program in which the multicolumn list box values are read and forwarded to another mechanism. To read specific values in the list box, I used index table to retrieve the value of a particular cell to the instrument.

Allows, for example if I want to run the VI several times and I want to increment the line index whenever the tracks VI as well as for successive runs, the values of the next level of lines are read.

For example. I have the following listbox

    HAD Vd Vg

    1 0.3 0.2

    2 0.4 0.6

So for the first round, based on the index which I note the listbox can read 0.2 and 0.3 and assume that if I run this VI for lets say 2 times during the 2nd time it should read 0.4 and 0.6 instead of 0.2 and 0.3.Is it is it possible to increment the line/column index automatically? Please help me because this is the last step of my project.

    Thank you

    Robin

Your VI runs millions of times per second and elements within nanoseconds. You need to prevent this.

Here is a quick modification that goes to the next line, every time that you run the VI again and again when he's run out of items.

It might give you some ideas...

  • Increment and decrement

I want to do a simulation of increasing numbers and decrements up to a point. Let's say that I start with a constant of 10. I want to increment this 10 until it reaches 50. When he reached 50, I want to decrement, until the return to 10. And from there, it goes back to 50 and so on.

I'm new to LabVIEW, and by looking at a few examples, I can do the part of the increment. However I can only stop the simulation when he reached 50, and it is not I want.

Can someone help me with this?
