Reference Dell 6248P - VLANS, DHCP, wireless AP

I'm trying to set up a VIRTUAL LAN for wireless comments traffic go through our main switches and on an ADSL router but I'm running into some difficulties.

We have 3 points of access for model AP - AC Unifi. Each access point has a connection of physical network of 1 of 4 Dell 6248 switches which are currently in a single stack managed as follows.

AP 1-> Port of the Switch 1 40

AP 2-> Port of the Switch 2 36

AP 3-> Port of the Switch 3 17

The managed pile and AP are currently using the 192.168.1.0/24 on VLAN 1 - default and I created a VLAN 10 - guest.

The APs have two SSID WLAN, 'corporate', which is also on the 192.168.1.0/24 range and 'guest' that is located on 192.168.99.0/24. I put the "guest" to mark its traffic with VLAN 10 and no DHCP is defined.

I put the 3 above general Mode ports, allowing all managers and VLAN - 1 that are not marked and VLAN - 10 they are labeled.

I also put a Zyxell router with a static address of 192.168.99.254 in Switch 4 Port 24 and set to this mode of trunk to VLAN 10.

The router is configured to provide DHCP for the beach of 192.168.99.0/24.

Now when I connect a laptop to our 'coporate' WLAN, everything works fine. I get a DHCP address from our server and I can reach everything as usual.

When I connect to the "guest" WLAN, I don't get a DHCP address. If I put a static address, I can't do a ping to the router.

Could someone tell me if my configuration is correct?

A couple of things I noticed the config:

-I don't see that whatever it is set to Switch 4 Port 24, which is the case the router Zyxell is plugged. If this port is not configured properly, it may not be able to see the communication on the VIRTUAL LAN. A config like this should work on Switch 4 Port 24.

    1/xg1 ports are 10G only. The front ports support SFP 1 G. The front ports are ports combo for 45-48 in order to use copper or fiber port, but not both.

    I was looking back through the configuration, and on the 24 port setting, I see there is a command to access in place, but the port is not set to enter the mode. Can you try to put the port in access mode?

    During the test with the laptop plugged on the switch, we should test it first with a static IP address. This is to ensure that we have a connection established. Then you can move on to DHCP.

    The router will appear in the output of one of these two commands?

    Just connect a 5548p to our network and I can get on the web interface, I have created several VLANS and put them all access to, I have a (48) port on the vlan 1 as trunk, don't know why, but when I connect a device to one of the ports vlan, I have no access to it, I cannot ping or whatever it is , I read somewhere on another forum I need of vlan routing active but for the life of me I can't find anywhere to enable VLAN routing, or maybe it's another issue that is causing the problem? I also did the switchport mode access for all the VLANS and the trunk allowed vlan add command for all the VLANS.

    Is the connection of your 3448 to your router set as a Trunk port? The router has the same VLAN on it as well as addresses IP attributed to them?

    For example the router will have 160 VLAN on it with an IP address of 10.21.162.1

    Set the printer to 10.21.162.86 with a gateway of 10.21.162.1.

    I'm currently setting up the 6248P powerconnect switch switch with sonicwall router tz215. I'm doing the transition as simple as possible. The router will make the WAN and DHCP and the switch will route traffic between subnet PCs and WAN of sonicwall for internet access.

    I have the selector on default and vlan1 as management vlan. should I start to create the vlan 10 for IP subnet, which is the same as sonicwall LAN subnet?

    6200 switches are not able to deliver their own management of VLANS. When you configure routing VLAN you will need to follow this article.

    It is common to see only one VLAN dedicated to the connection between the switch and the firewall. So in this example VLAN 10 would give an IP address in the same subnet as the firewall. Then place the port access mode for VLAN 10 44.

    The 6248 you'll also want to place a static route that directs traffic on the firewall. Looks something like this:

    Oriented server ports are configured automatically as part of the aggregation of links groups if the server is configured for the LACP Protocol. Static GAL is not supported.

    You will use the segregation network VLAN. A VLAN for network traffic and the other for the CF. Here are the commands to configure interfaces for different VLANS.

    Unidentified:

    Traffic from servers will follow the path of the VLAN. For example, if an internal server, facing the port is set to VLAN 4, that traffic will be transmitted on the uplink port which has also set to VLAN 4.

    By default, all external ports are placed in a single whole LAG. However, you can change the configuration to support several shifts of uplink. Page 159 of guys configuration takes you step by step on setting up several shifts of uplink.

    The aggregator automatically configures to match the FCoE parameters used in the switches to which it connects through its uplink ports. FIP snooping is automatically configured on an aggregator. Automatically configured port channel (LAG 128) works CWF port mode. See page 86 for more information and examples of config.

    For redundancy, you could stack the units together. 241 page details the process of stacking.

    Page 54 of 102 of the Guide blade IO has one other diagram that details more internal server port mapping for each blade.

    I have 2 sets of identical to use for Hyper-V clusters servers. We bought a Dell MD3200i in November, we also bought a Dell 5424 switch and a Cisco SLM2048 switch. These servers have Real Tek 2 network cards for iSCSI Jumbo frames is 9 k

    The Dell MD3200i is two SAN controllers. Dell 5424 is the iSCSI optimized switch and Cisco is a 48 switch ports. iSCSI is on its own network that nothing else is connected to it. (There is an Iomega NAS and a promise Vtrak SAN Tech with all current domain of execution with iSCSI controller)

    iSCSI tab click on add 8 MPIO sessions at each of the ports on the MD3200i from Dell, target. For example, I added 1 session of 192.168.130.101 using it. Add Session,--> activate--> Advanced Mutlipath--> Local--> IP 192.168.130.110 initiator and target 192.168.131.101 iSCSI adapter. This is repeated on all servers. 4 connections for each NIC.

    The network is very slow. It revolved around 2 to 4 MB/MIN and it should be much faster. Initially, we had only the Cisco switch with only 1 VLAN and everything connected directly to it. I read somewhere that MPIO has been the problem, so I went through the same configuration but does not verify the MPIO checkbox above. Once this has been done, the network speed went up to 1.5 GB/Min but modular storage Dell was not happy, and virtual servers would fail and the connection is not very stable.

    What wrong with my setup? Can I directly home and fix the servers directly to the PowerVault and will make stable and allow for failover and redundancy NIC? I need to get this stable so I can move with something else.

    I bought two computers in July 2009. I had problems with both of them. Inspiron mini had a problem with wireless, Dell said was my fault. and refused to fix it until I told them. I wanted to return it them. Finally they gave me a free support and support person said that there is something wrong with the computer I received.  Something other than the computer is unbalanced and wobbles when he types. I sent the compture to get fixed and it never got fixed.  I thought I would just deal with it because you get what you pay for.

    In January my XPS studio crashed. Screen has become sell contact of Virgin material and the damage. So I called dell. It took them a month to figure out, and indeed there is something wrong witht the computer. Thus broke computer I couldn't use it for a month. Finally I got the new memory and hard new dirve. The next day, my computer crashed. He spent a month trying to say Dell that something was wrong with my computer. All that time I spent 30-75 minutes on the phone with technical support. It was time that I called 4 days a week. I bought long and costly warrenties on my computer, including hardware and software. Not to mention cell phone chargers. Finally I conviced someone as my computer is really broken and they agreed to send me another computer. I'll go at least a computer that works. Understandable that it would take some time to get my replacement. My replacement date came and went. I called Dell again 45 minutes on the phone.  Then I've been transferred several times. The rep that I talked to said that they have not yet started doing my replacement.  It has been frustrating and I think that he was treated in a disrespectful way, what happened to quality customer service.

    On top of that today I was warned that even if the company has already approved my payment of $ 1,500, they now can't seem to find a record of the transaction and consider my past due account.  Also, they refused to refund my money and couldn't give me any assurance that the situation would be resolved.

    Anyone has any advice on the purchase of an Apple, I hear they have great customer service and wonderful tech support.

    I just wanted you to know that you aren't the only one with all these problems.  I am struggling with for more than a month to replace my computer. Finally, on March 1, they said they would and they have placed an order.  Now a week later it stil is not delivered because they can't find a 'HARD' for my computer.  REFERENCE DELL SUCKS AND I WIL NEVER BUY ANOTHER.    I put a post of "do NOT GET ALL the ANSWERS.

    With multiple VLANs, you need to use the general/Trunk mode. With the help of the info we have I made a diagram to help show the location of the switches and parameters on them. Obviously things can be different, such as PVID, IP address, VLAN ID etc are all customizable to your needs. But the page layout modes and the port will remain the same.

    STP will not fill the VLAN on the other switches. It's probably the GVRP feature it refers. With such a short race, it is more practical to manually add the VLAN. At least for the initial Setup, then once everything works enable GVRP to accommodate future expansion of VLAN.

    I found this thread on the venue Pro 8 and of connection to wireless networks / hot spots.  Try the suggestion in this thread and see if it helps.

    NOTE: I copied on the steps of resolution here as well in case anyone wants to see it.

    When sometimes, I had this problem, a deep discharge set: with power supply not connected, press the button of the Tablet for 30 or 60 seconds, including after the Tablet died;  Let the Tablet turned off for 2 minutes; and restart.  Have been informed by Support technique Dell that the cause is a buildup of static electricity, which avoids deep discharge.

    DELL INSPIRON 2320 - Natural Wireless Laser Keyboard 7000 - default is Caps Lock ON (active) only when the cursor is in a field of password.

    The game of keyboard mouse 7000 is great.

    However, when the cursor is in any field/bos where a password must came me in, CapLock default value (setting) is ON or activated.

    • This only happens only in a field/area requiring a password to enter... but it happens each unique time, any application or what connection Web site password field I can be located anywhere on the Internet.
    • Again, this is only a problem when the cursor is in a password field.
    • This (setting) can be reversed that, when the cursor is in an area of password, default (setting) will be | Caps Lock |  STOP =?

    In the BIOS settings, I only find a selection of NumLock setting.  In Centre of keyboard and Microsoft mouse, the only setting that I can locate offers the choice to enable or disable the use of the Caps Lock key... entirely.  So, when turned on, the default value is lock shift = WE only in a password box.  Know, I is not no accidentally redundant; I repeat this case specific to the question in order to stress that this is the only time only this question.

    Like most people, I have to enter the password often. This problem occurs if the "remember me" or "keep me logged in" is selected.

    It's much more irritating.

    To turn off the caps from the BIOS lock, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the BIOS.

    Note: Update of the BIOS can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered unusable. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

To cut a long story short ram upgraded to 2 GB, all unnecessary programs identified and technician Microsoft contacted to solve problems.  I was informed of problems caused by 3rd software party conflicts. Kaspersky was apparently the culpit. Dell Inspiron 32 now much faster but the printer will not work little matter what I do. I tried to reload with drivers & utility CD, drivers uninstalled & reinstalled on the site of all nothing is? Can someone help?
