Reference for Word._Document SaveAs2 ActiveX without overwriting

Hello

I'm looking for a way to not overwrite a file when I use the SaveAs2 method in Labview.  Currently it replaces any existing file with the same name, and I would like that to do the usual adds a number of sometype name of the file if it already exists.

Thank you

Hi Gus

If you check here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.tools.word.document.saveas(v=vs.80).aspx

(MSDN for the appeal of ActiveX reference) You can see that the expected behavior of this call is to "If a document with the specified name already exists, the document is crushed without the user be warned first." Since it is like meant Microsoft and external to LabVIEW that is not editable.

What we can change, is how to use the control. Either you can use the check if the file or folder exists VI with case structure to change the file name entry if the file already exists?

Kind regards

  • Load an external SWF file without overwriting my container SWF (AS2) file

    Hello world

    I want to load an external SWF with AS2, but file without overwriting my container file. How can I achieve this? What is the correct code?

    Here is the code I use :

    loadMovieNum ("external.swf", 0);

    countdown = function() {}

    trace ("OK");

    }

    countdownIt = setInterval (countdown, 1000);

    It works well, but as I said, it overwrites my container SWF file. If I load into level 1, my container file works but not the one I try to load... .

    Can someone help me with this, please?

    Try to use the loadMovie method... meaning container.loadMovie.  See below for an explanation: Load external in another SWF SWF

    If the loaded file does not work when you load it, it is probably because you have references to _root in there who do not find the expected _root.  You must set the file loaded _lockroot property to be true.

  • Write several bays in one xml file at different times without overwriting the old file?

    Hi my name is Dustin,

    I am new to labview and teststand... I try several tables of data in a single XML right. I can do this with a cluster but I need to create a variable for each of these pictures (21 pictures) and I was hoping to use the same variable for each table. Which means that I get my data table write in an xml file and replace this table in this variable with a new table and then call my VI who writes this table in an xml file and write to the same file xml under the first table without crushing. My VI I created to write a table to an xml file is attached. Yet once I wonder if there is a way to write several berries in a single at different times xml file, without overwriting the old file xml.

    Thank you

  • Example of reference for PCIe Data Streaming double 6537 s disc

    Hello world

    I have successfully changed the example of reference for streaming ( http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5315 ) for the card PCIe-6537 UNIQUE and able to write to the clock speed of 20 M (at end of initial test) without any error.

    However, I don't know how to view the *.bin file to check whether I wrote the right data. I saw an example VI called 'read the binary '. However, it is said "File already open" and gives a GPIB controller error (very odd). Should I try using MatLab? I doubt that this will help because it seems that the file write VI does not close the file correctly.

    I have attached the updated UNIQUE PCIe-6537 source code and the file with this post error. There are file support as well for writing file window live

    I'm the kind of new acquisition continuously and at high speed. Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks in advance.

    See you soon,.

    I have a few links you can go to more resources continuous here and here.

    The original question, you have posted using binary VI reading won't be able to because of the memory.  You can read more small segments of the file and keep the file intact.  There are a number entry that indicates the number of data items are returned by the function.  If you want to save multiple files, you can use any looping function to make it work, just set the condition to find out how much time and when to stop.  I don't know of a quick example that does this.  You read again all the data, but given that the readings are in small pieces, it will help the issue given that the data are not need a large space contiguous memory to reside in during playback.

    Data compression would be more than a post processing step rather than a step continuously, and it can slow down your stream if you were writing at the same time after your reading.  In producer/consumer architecture, you could read in the data and compress it before the record in a file, which would not affect the performance of your reading, it forms the data and create a file that is smaller and takes less space in memory.

  • How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

    How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

    I need to group together all messages from e-mail in a PC and to retire the first PC.

    This could be problematic. I guess or OE is over? This would make it easy.

    One thing you could do requires some manual work, but much less removal of dupes. For example, the Inbox. In the machine, you are going to scrap, create a new folder and move all messages in your Inbox to it. After you import on the other machine, you can drag the messages you need this folder in the Inbox, and then remove the user created the folder.

    And then there are tools to remove the dupes. This one for example.

  • Is it possible to save revenue by program to an excel file without overwriting the previous entry?

    I want to record the revenue of every four hours in an excel file without overwriting the previous entry.  It would work like a button "save under", but instead enter a new name, the name of the recipe as well as the date and time is what the file would be saved under.  Any thoughts on whether this is possible, or how it can be accomplished would be great.

    Everything looks good except for a minor detail that perhaps with that you could help me.  Instead of naming the file "data", I want to use the contents of cell C1 to datatable name.  I could do in the argument Filename = or should I use an expression.

  • Acrobat pdfmaker com addin for word 2010 crashes when processing large files

    I tried to do this on x 86 and x 64 machine and it failed twice at around the point about even (during/immediately after determining the bookmarks).

    The document is large (862 pages, 2425 bookmarks, 311 300 DPI graphic, for a total size of the 49.2MiB file)

    I can generate the PDF by printing only, but the question of the use of the pdfmaker is so that we will not have to perform 2.5 K manual reticulations.

  • How to import HTML RH7 HR format for Word WinHelp project?

    I'm trying to convert a WinHelp project (created by someone else in RH5 for Word) in a project to help HTML complete in RH7, so that I can build HTML Help or WebHelp output.

    I tried the Menu > file > new > project > Import tab > select project WinHelp. In the wizard, I select the project help to import, click Next, and then select the output folder. But there is no Source Documents listed for import. They are visible in Windows Explorer, but RH7 sees them. I can't do the previous step / next or finish without selecting the files, so that I can cancel only and try again.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Workaround

    By trial and error, I discovered that if I opened the RH5 WinHelp project in RH7 first, then close it, this adds a lot of other files in the project folder.
    So I can import it into RH7 HTML.

    That solved this issue.

    I want to copy music files from an external hard drive to my laptop without any duplicates. files can be copied without overwriting the existing files?

    Yes, you can.

    You can either use the simple method of drag - move or the right click move optionfrom context menu.

    Method of drag - move will have a copy of the music even external drive and one copy in your personal folder.
    Move To method will be "moving" the music file from the drive of the post to your personal folder. No duplicate.

    If you do not have CopyTo and Move To options in your right click context menu, use this tutorial:

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/89196-context-menu-add-copy-folder-move-folder.html

    Use a method... that's easier.

  • Windows Vista - my worksheets had icons for word documents or installation of programs icons

    When starting my computer, why Office five of the six albums icons for spread sheet documents appear as icons for word documents and the icon for the sixth broadcast sheet paper appears as one of an executable program?  My computer is infected?

    Hi VidaFenton,

    (1) remember to make changes?

    (2) is this problem limited to spreadsheets?

    Method 1: Run the fixit available in the links below and check if that makes a difference-Worth to try
    Difficulty of broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks

    Note: FixIt would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

    Method 2: If you suspect a virus infection, run Microsoft Security scanner (MSS) to any threat and try to correct

    If the question is limited to spreadsheets, you can post your query on Office Forum

  • Icon in the taskbar for Word has changed to the icon of the program unknown

    First of all, everything works fine, but it is really annoying that the icon in my taskbar for Word 07 disappeared and is represented by the generic icon of the unknown program.  In my documents files, the icon shows correctly, but in my program (from the start menu) Menu and in my taskbar, it shows the icon of the unknown program.

    I have a corporate anti-virus and have scanned for spyware / malware, which turned negative.

    Help, please!

    Rian

    Hello RianElliott,

    Given that your pc is clean, have you tried to remove this corrupt icon? You can simply copy and paste the right (operation) is one in the old location. Let us know if it works for you. Make it a great day!
