C4380: C4380 wireless

I have been using C4380 wireless for the past 5 years with no problems. Recently, I changed my network domestic and necessary for re - configure the installation of the printer. I downloaded the latest driver of the page support and intalled it. He asked how the printer will be connected and I said "wireless". After treatment it asked me to connect the printer using USB. As soon as I plugged this dialog box went "install...". "mode and stayed there for a long time and never came back." I waited for 5 hours and still nothing has changed. I tried with Windows 7 laptop, and it's the same thing. I also tried to delete the installation and once again, but no luck. The printer works fine with USB connection and I don't see the blue light for wireless radio. It's pain...

Can someone help me...

Today, it was my lucky day, and the HP driver worked on my laptop 8.1. Printer is installed. This can be closed

Please help, I have spent hours on it does not.

until recently, under snow leopard, I had no probs printing c4380 wirelessly.

While my sisters, I tried to print something out on his printer and its drivers installed. Then, I deleted these drivers.

I could still print wireless, but suddenly it has stopped working. I tried most of the things, I uninstalled and installed the software again.

passes the test (on the printer) the printer wireless network, but when I print I get a message saying that it does not connect. I can print when connected via USB. I seem to sometimes added... to get two versions of usb hp printer photosmart c4380 and the other something like photosmart c4380 [22437].

I cannot open the Web page in-house printers and don't know how to get around this problem. When you open the printer utility, it will do via USB, but not wireless.

on the HP configuration utility, most of the time it says no wifi network have been discovered. He always correctly will allow me to enter the SSID and WPA WEK key and will link this way but still not printing. Sometimes, if I have two photosmart printers and f22437 as active printer (the f22437 indicates a network address in the Setup utility), but if I then select usb connected that he'll show my wifi network in the detectable window of the Setup utility. so I connect, but still it says unable to connect when I actually try and print.

IM using a time capsule and wonder if the problem with that. the other day, he made up a window saying there was a problem with him and has the mac address this problem, which he seems to have done.

Phew. and to think im sitting here alone to try to solve this problem in Switzerland where I live for six hours and her 02:35.

  • Photosmart C4380 - wireless connection stops my wi fi connection

    Hello

I have a problem with my Photosmart C4380 wireless. In recent weeks, I have a new router from fi wi for internet connection. The problem starts if I want to print a document: if I connect to the printer my Internet stops. In addition, if the document to print is a picture it is all purple but I don't know if it's a question of color or if it is because the problem of connection. When I put the memory card directly into the printer, I could see a picture printed even if had still some purple color in it.

Anyway, my first problem to resolve is the connection problem. How can I make two connections (PC to the printer) and PC to the router work together?

-Operating system: Vista Edition Home Premium - Service pack 2

-Wireless (PC to the printer) and PC to the router

-Do not get the error message. Just to lose internet connection

I hope you can help me because I don't really know what to do.

    Thank you in advance,

    Good bye

    Fabio

You said you have a connection Printer to PC and PC to Router. That is not how this printer should be connected. There are two types of home network connectivity No.1 Wired network is ethernet cable from printer to router. You should also have an ethernet connection from the router to the pc. In this type of connection the router is called the access point which enables communication wireless from a wireless capable device like a Laptop. The printer is now on a wired network No.2 Then there is purely wireless - no wires involved. By the way, a USB connection is not a wired connection. USB is independant and has nothing to do with home networking. As far as I know, this printer uses a usb cable for wireless installation only. While installing the printer select wireless and continue. The printer will not be found, click continue and you should be prompted to temporarily connect a USB cable. When device discovery is complete you will be prompted to remove the USB cable. Then the installation will test the wireless connection and that should complete the installation. I would suggest a complete uninstall using level 3 uninstall found on cd or download files Util\CCC\uninstall L_3, Do Not use L_4. This doc c01122127 found at HP.com has a video showing screen shots during the install process I have described above.

    Good Luck

  • HP Photosmart C4380 wireless light

I use a MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.3, sharing a wireless router with my HP Photosmart 4380.

Recently I have had problems and do pass on messages in the print menu that the printer is not detected. Blue wireless indicator is brighter.  Now, my fall is back to connect my USB cable, which is not convenient to aleays.

Someone, please let me know how to "reboot" of the printer so that the wireless lights to indicate this function still works?

I am pleased to confirm that, after trying all the suggestions, I finally managed to solve my problem.

It became apparent that the C4380 had lost all its settings and therefore could not send its wireless capability.

So I used a MacBook with a CD player, running the Mavericks, to install from a CD of the HP Installation. The installation program, allowed me to restore the function wireless and BINGO! It all works now.

    Thank you for your efforts!

  • Problems connecting my C4380 wireless

I have a new Mac OS x release 10.9.5 and I'm trying to connect a C4380 printer works wirelessly. The printer works when it is plugged in with the cable, but it was supposed to be guests / Assistant configuration as indicated in the instructions to start the game wireless upward and that step has never.

I'm not very clear on my in home wireless system, but it is through my cable (Charter) with a router company, and we have a WEP (maybe his WPA?).

Any thoughts on how should I proceed? Maybe I need to connect the printer to the router to "kickstart" something?

    Thank you.

We recently purchased a Cisco RV120W wireless router and now we can´t connect our wireless Photosmart C4380 printer.

    Greetings Jens Ove and Helge

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with this device.  However, I would search in the areas of networks, VPN and security.

You want to be sure of not having active VPN and also look for implementing isolation.

I confess that I am no expert PC but have spent 4 hours this afternoon trying to follow all the help and support options to turn on my laptop to print wireless using my new HP Photosmart C4380.

Wireless network adapter appears under control panel, but I can't get the light to come on the front by FN and F8, of the any or others 101 things I tried thorugh etc. Device Manager - I'm sure that there is an easy way, but I can't find it and lose the heart! Can someone offer me some ideas?

If so please have them step by step so I can make sure I don't miss anything.

Thank you in anticipation of your ideas...

    Hello

I'm sorry if this seems a silly question but first:

Are you REALLY sure have a wireless card installed?

    And the second question:

Do you have already turned the switch on "ON"?

Because otherwise, the light will NEVER go up.

Please give feedback if you tried to change the pit wireless switch 'ON '.

    Hello

I get the message 'communication error' when I try to print wireless at a Photosmart C4380 of my MacBook (OS 10.7.5) through a Router 2 GB TimeCapsule.

The message also says: "/ usr/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd failed ', but I don't know what to do with...

I tried to de - and re - install, reboot the laptop, printer and router and pull all the plugs in different sequences, first use the USB cable to install wireless and any other help HP... but nothing seems to work (doctor of HP is not available for Mac).

    The weird part is that:

    2. printing of my iMac works fine (same network, same software, same settings version, etc.)!

    2. printing via the USB port on my MacBook works fine

    3. can I print a test page form "Utility from HP" my MacBook (and of course my iMac but it works very well even when)

I read almost all messages on communication errors more wireless but that you have not found an answer to my question (yet).

Is there anyone with a solution? Please?

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • C4380 change wireless security password

I am really stuck and frustrated.

I need to change JUST my wireless network password and not the name SSID etc.

When I go through the installation I get to the point where displays a list of wireless networks and my network is displayed, but if I select this I don't have the chance to enter a password.

It goes directly to checking the connection, which of course not that the password is wrong. See the pictures below

I tried to reset the default values for network printing, but I always get the same result.

If I try to enter a different SSID then I have the chance to enter a password (not sure wireless network)

    Why is it so difficult?

    Help, please

    Well I fixed it.

Can you believe I had to reconfigure my router to a different SSID name.

Put these settings in the C4380

Then change my SSID to what it should be

and put the correct settings in the c4380

Clearly, something is missing in the software / firmware / hardware that allows you to completely remove all of the memory of the SSID

  • Photosmart C4380 - not found wireless network

My photosmart C4383 than worked fine with wifi since 2007, but yesterday he lost his IP address.

I ran hp-setup, with connected USB and the network connection has been restored, but he disappeared after

the first attempt to print. After that, each running hp - Setup fails with the message

'No wireless networks found', although my wifi, provided by a Netgear router, works very well, as I have

4 devices connected, and they immediately find the wifi on reboot.

I don't see any explanation, except that the problem is with the photosmart himself.

    Am I wrong?

    Hey @pfrenkiel ,

Thanks for joining us on the HP Forums today, hope you enjoy your time with us!

I understand that you encounter connectivity problems on your Photosmart C4383. You are able to make it all work, but you are not able to get on the wireless network more.

With the printer being as old as it is, it could very well lose functionality in its internal modem. It is not a replaceable part unfortunately. This is probably what happened because you are not able to see more networks of the printer.

You can either continue to use the printer via the USB port or upgrade to a new printer.

I wish I could help you on the Forums, but I simply can't. Best of luck and hope this isn't too much inconvenience.

  • Reconfigure wireless Photosmart C4380 with Mac OS 10.6.2

I use the wireless all-in-one printer with Mac 10.4. before and remember that I had to uninstall the HP software when I started using my new MacBook with SL 10.6.1 and 6.2. one more later. I also understood how to scan. Everything went well for a few weeks.

But now the computer does not find the printer more. Wireless which is. And I don't seem to be able to reinstall the printer. Wireless which is. The printer tells me that it is not configured for wireless - now.

To set up the wireless, with the original installation HP you can connect printer and computer by cable first and unplug it to establish a wireless connection. This doesn't seem to work now. I can cable, but this doen help connect me to gonfigure the wireless in the printer. Can only unconnect and work wireless.

    Any solution?

  • Photosmart C4585: Re-login to the network

HI - would be grateful for any help

My HP4585 works perfectly on my local wireless network, served by an Apple Airport extreme router. He connected very well to a variety of windows computers and MacBooks belonging to us and children - have worked for at least 3 years.

But suddenly he lost contact with the network - and I can't work on how to re - connect. The original disc will not work with my laptop Win 8.1 or OSX Yosemite MacBook my wife

I downloaded the installation programs (fulll package, not only the pilots) to win 8 on the HP support site, but those who come installed new drivers on the laptop: there was no invitation to choose a connection type, and then set the printer on the network.  I tried to do similar via the MacBook (using the OSX program of course) but the same result.

So I can use the printer with a USB connection - and it works very well, but the whole point was to have wireless for a variety of printers...

I'm clearly missing something, probably obvious, but I would be really grateful if someone could clarify what I need to do for reconfigur the printer.

    Grateful for any thoughts

    John

    Hi @JML_UK,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you can not connect your HP Photosmart c4585 to your network running Windows 8.1. and Mac OS X 10.10. I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!

Please have a look through this guide to wireless configuration, Configure the printer for a C4500 all-in-One Printer Series HP Photosmart C4380 wireless network, select Windows 8, and then scroll down until you see option: if you have previously installed the software to a USB connection and now you want to set up a wireless network connection follow these instructions to remove the USB installation before continuing. Then follow the steps to switch from a USB connection to a wireless network connection. You want to do with a computer of Windows 8, already configured for a USB connection.

Hope this solves your problem and have a great day!

  • Very confused C4380

My C4380 has worked fine since I bought it a few months ago.  Today I printed a document which has been a success, but when I went to print later semed printer has lost its connection wireless.  I decided to uninstall aand then install, but I cannot remove the software no matter how I try.  I get "HP install Uninstaller" has stopped working.  So, how I uninstall it?  I just downloaded the software in case the cd is broken. Also on the printer wireless sign on the front of the printer turns off.  I don't know if it's a software problem, or if the printer is at fault, I used a USB cable to see if my pc will see the printer, but that did not work or the other. I printed the HP Network Configuration page, it shows the status of the network is offline and under wireless, status is disconnected.  I hope someone can help me to get the printer working properly.

Yes, I had someone turn today and it took 3 hours to figure out that there is a conflict between IE8 and HP software.  Serves me right for using a beta program, I will be once again.  Thanks for the reply.

  • C4380: C4380

My C4380 printer was working fine on my wifi.

I was forced to a breach of the HW to switch networks - and I cannot now connect the printer WiFi, only by USB to my desktop, which means that no one else on my network can see.

I searched the web for an answer - no joy. A lot of the multiplicity of HP web pages claim to know of the to do, but none of the work for me. Anyone know?

Thanks for getting back to me @GP2014,

When you set up the printer on the network, make sure that you connect to the main network.

I have provided some information that I hope are useful to get the printer on the network.
Make sure that there is no space or special characters in the name of the network, the printer can not recognize it.
The printer is able to send/receive in the 2.4 GHZ band.
If the router is configured for 5 GHZ network, you may need to change to 2.4 GHZ. (rename the 5 GHZ or turn it off)
The WPA key setting must be on AES to work properly not TKIP.
    Multi flow must be enabled.
Firewall on the router must have ports open for the printer.
If you have Mac filtering give you printer hardware to meet the needs of the Configuration page.

You may need to contact your router company to get help to check these settings and configure routers.

Make sure that Safari is set as default browser. (sometimes the SAP will not open if it is not set by default)

Open Safari, at the top, select the Safari menu, select Preferences, general, as a default value.

You check the encryption: password find your wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 (Mac).

    Hope that helps. Thank you!
