  Finally, I had enough time to close all VM and try a few things.

  For those interested, it was my job steps to restore my ESXi.

  1. ESXi set in maintenance mode
  2. Download VMware vSphere PowerCLI
  3. Run as administrator
  4. Connect to ESXi (Connect-VIServer-Server 0.0.0.0 - user user - pass pass) - where 0.0.0.0 = ESXi ip, user = user name for ESXi and pass = password for this connection.
  5. Save the current running configuration (Get-VMHost 0.0.0.0 |) Get - VMHostFirmware - BackupConfiguration - DestinationPath "D:\temp\") - where 0.0.0.0 = ip of ESXi, "D:\temp\" = destination for the backup folder (don't forget this folder exists on the PC that you run from)
  6. Stop your ESXi host

  Now at this stage, it proved there was nothing wrong with my USB key, for a reason any ESXi do not use it until I rebooted the system, of course the configuration that it charge was outdated, so I restored the configuration for the backup, I just do. It could also be that your USB key (or any other boot drive) is default and you must completely reinstall ESXi. However, after a clean installation, that you can also simply restore the backup configuration. To restore the backup, I used the following steps:

  1. You start ESXi host (make sure it is installed)
  2. Connect to ESXi (Connect-VIServer-Server 0.0.0.0 - user user - pass pass) - where 0.0.0.0 = ESXi ip, user = user name for ESXi and pass = password for this connection.
  3. Restore the backup configuration (Get-VMHost 0.0.0.0 |) Set - VMHostFirmware - restore - Force - SourcePath "D:\temp\configBundle-0.0.0.0.tgz") - where 0.0.0.0 = ip of ESXi, ' D:\temp\configBundle - 0.0.0.0.tgz' = the configuration file (make sure that this file exists on the PC that you run from)
  4. Wait a few seconds, if it does not automatically restart, do it manually
  5. The configuration should now be loaded again, and the missing boot drive error should be gone.

  I don't want access programmatically, I covered, for access to the file system to copy files to the Simulator in shared directories.

  Search the forum for more information on using 'ssh' to access the Simulator and more specifically help 'scp' or 'sftp' to transfer files to. You will do this in the files under/accounts/1000/shared, and if you're on Windows you will probably be to install PuTTY to do this. Feel free to ask for help more once you have dug through it all.

  The problem is that the program that allows you to mount the image always uses the image.  In my case I used the magical disc. Go to the start menu find the magic disk or folder folder, there should be an option to uninstall the magic disc. I tried UN-installing conrtol add and remove programs but it wouldn't let me. You can also click on computer in Start menu and see if the file you want to remove is always mounted (appears as a CD image). In this case that you can click the eject disc hit.

  I was back tonight, saw your post and tried a search in my .xls and .xlsx files.  They results were not as I suspected.  But now is a result of the work.

  I had left the 'files allow on this drive to have content indexed in addition to file properties' unchecked.  This means that my old index was sought but changes or new files were not included.  When finally, I went to properties and permit of indexation for the drive, I could search for .xls and .xlsx text files inside the cells and inside the text boxes.  I edited my last post to include this observation.

I finally successfully a text file for a search string.  Thank you Lisa and Thahaseena I have studied the links and then did some testing over a period of 5 hours.  FYI, I get using the old DOS commands in .bat files.  Understand the new search engine was much more difficult than learning a RegEx in the 1980s.

  I correctly searched for file names and files with this box unchecked, but the results do not include the files created or edited since the last time the index was built or in other words since the indexing has been authorized.

  My QuadCore 3 GHz/4 GB indexed to 2500 points per second.  I have let it run overnight on my drive of files I have about 3 hours to complete.

  4. read on "Windows Search Advanced Query Syntax" it can help you a lot.

  5 W7 will show what looks like a mistake/complaint at research suggesting that you change your settings for indexing.  This will happen even if you have defined the so ignore/disable it.

  1 test cycle after: 07/20/10 - find all the file names with the string 'test' in them with update a value greater than 20/07/10.

  2 * test*.txt after: 07/30/10 - it found only files of type .txt 'test' in the name and modifed today (30/07/10).

  3. content *.txt: citabria after: 20/07/10 - searched the citabria word in files of text changed after 20/07/10!

  4. content *.docx: citabria after: 20/07/10 - searched the citabria word within Word files modified after 20/07/10!

  The problem isn't your Style of character!

  The problem is that your white is not a color.

  To see this, when you open your character styles and choose your "hue" white, is dimmed, since you can only color tint.

  To resolve this issue, double-click your white swatch so that it opens the box of color options. under the colour / spot color box check the option of 'Global' .

  Now, close the box options and go to you style of character and select white, you will notice color is now available.

  Close and save, problem solved
