Reformat VGN-CS13G/P

Hello
Ive looked everywhere to find an aolution, but all does not work.

For example, shift + f8 + button / stop

I went for the treatment of the F10, but what I get in the options start change are the following:
Edit Windows boot options for: start VAIO Recovery Center
Path: \Windows\system32\boot\winload.exe

[/ DETECTHAL MININT RDIMAGEOFFSET = 8192 RDIMSGELENGTH = RDPATH 3161088 = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \SOURCES\vrc.wim]

Tried both options,
1. press ENTER, it will immediately bring me to a page load, followed by a black screen and it freezes just there (for a minute or two) and all of a sudden a white cursor goes out and nothing happens then.

2. press ESC, I have the choice to go to the tip by pressing F8 or
Start VAIO Recovery Center (which seems to be the correct choice), press ENTER, between the loading again, screen screen black, cursor and nothing happens again.

Let's take a look at the F8 advanced in the hidden partition option, the options are the following:

Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt

Enable Boot logging
Activate video low resolution
Last good known Configuration
Directory Services Restore Mode
Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
Disable driver Signature enforcement

Start Windows normally.

Thanks for any help offered!

Hi Eugeneeu,

You're welcome, but I can't help out you completely in this regard. If you are still having the same problem then the recovery partition does not communicate much more. Maybe its already corrupt. The next step you need to do is to format the laptop using a Recovery Media Kit (set of recovery disks) of Sony, or use a copy to the details of the operating system. Your Vaio VGNCS13G is not an American model and we have little information and we do not have to reinstall drive nor the drivers and software.

For further assistance about your concern, please contact the representative offices of offices/Sony Sony nearest your place of residence in the Asia-Pacific region http://www.sony-asia.com/countryselector.html?hpid=countryselector:AsiaPacific. Due to the proximity, they are in a better position to respond to your questions or concerns.

Hope the link helps.

  • Impossible to reformat the computer after the OEM disc error: check the model number.

Original title: Updated Windows and now I can't reformat my Sony Vaio... why?

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR110E, only thing replaced was the battery, so no problem of "tattoo", but the software, discs and OEM disks say "check model number", won' t reformat the computer and install the factory specifications... Not called Sony, they have no idea because they are Sony.  Looking for people online say it happens after a windows update.  the model number is always in the BIOS, but don't know what model number, it's the computer for some reason any.

How can I get it to reformat or should I switch to ubuntu if I reformat?

I think the best is to start a thread here:

Because I don't have a Vaio, there's not much I can do to help you. I'm sorry.

  • Can I reformat an external hard drive volume?

I partitioned a LaCie Rugged Mini 4 TB drive in two volumes, a Mac and a MS-DOS (FAT32). The Mac volume of valuable files on it now and I won't delete it. I realized that I don't have a PC compatible volume so I want to reformat the FAT32 volume in Mac format (or remove the partition) without erasing the files on the volume in Mac format. The FAT32 volume is completely empty. Can I reformat the FAT32 volume only without affecting the Mac volume?

I know you want to unshare. This will make available for your use FAT32 partition. But to format the hard drive (HD), you may have to transfer your files somewhere else and then copy them to your hard drive when formatting is concluded.

  • How can I reformat hard drive, LaCie Rugged All-Terrain?

I was using the LaCie Rugged All-Terrain Hard Disk to back up my MacBook Pro.  He has stopped responding to Time machine.  Does not recognize it when I plug it.  I replaced it with a Seagate, but would like to reformat the LaCie and see if it will work.  When I plug the drive into the usb port, the Mac does not meet the LaCie well I can hear the LaCie.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi TreeTipsx2,

I understand that you want to clear your LaCie hard drive. I know it's important to have control over your data, so I am pleased to provide you with information to help with this.

Although he is not able to see the hard drive in the Finder, you can always delete it if we see it in disk utility. Read this article on the subject:

  • Can I use an external hard drive that is compatible to Windows on a Mac through reformatting?

I bought a Seagate Expansion 4 TB USB 3.0 hard drive.

    F8 & PSC = 1 https://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B017KE8OG0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?IE=UT

But it is only compatible with Windows.

Can I reformat the hard drive on my MacBook Pro - or it would even rise not?

If so, what format to use? Mac OS extended (journaled)?

    Thank you!

PS: I tried to put this in the Mac system software, but I could not find in 100 + element of submenu. I must say the redesign of the forum makes it much more difficult to use, and it is almost impossible to find positions in some themes that were available in the old form by a simple click on a symbol. It feels like Apple wanted to have as bad an organization like Google (endless sub-menus in otherwise good work pro apps e-mail) and be too cryptic in its structure than that of Windows. Apple, please go back to the simple user interfaces that can be understood by logic. Yes, I tried to put this comment in a comment forum, but I could not find.

    1. Yes, you can.

    2. Yes.

  • I have upgraded to windows 10, reformatted then and then realized my Tbird profile backup folder has no mail, no book of addresses, etc. is there hope?

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and then reformat the computer, by using the backup and restore of Windows 10, programs advance so-called instructions to copy the profile to a USB for Thunderbird folder. Obviously I did something wrong, because there is not much there in the profile... folder no mail, no address book, a bunch of cache.x files that are for most empty and I did not notice that after reformatting. Is there a way to recover my old profile? Otherwise, I have at least one backup of the 2010 profile... (... sniff...)

You have a Zip program to check the archives? If you need a free, you can try 7 - zip: http://www.7-zip.org/

  • USB readers of reformatting to insert (intermittent)

My MacBook Pro since the recent OS X install 10.11.6, now completely reformat my external USB drives when inserting (about 20% of the time). The problem affects WD MyBook 2 TB external drives (x 2), WD MyBook Duo 12 TB NAS, as well as memory cards SD and my digital SLR via a card reader Lexar CF. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes, when I insert the above discs they mount as usual and display the structure of HFS files and any content file, on other occasions, there is a slight delay (about 40 seconds) after inserting a disc, then the drive is mounted as if it were brand new, straight out of the box. the 'hidden' EFI drive mount on the desktop, as well as a now empty and reformatted HFS disk partition. All data on the disks disappeared.

I tried to run apple on the disks disk utility are deleted. I tried to run "Disk Drill". These utilities simply see the re-formatted and declare that readers have no errors or problems detected. I zapped my PRAM, I ran FSCK, I updated permissions, run all the cron tasks, run "Clean My Mac", emptied all the caches, etc. Even after all of this interview, I've known this same player re-formatting on the insertion of external hard drives.

I lose the MASSIVE amounts of data when this problem occurs (Luckily most of the data are saved elsewhere however). One of the 2 TB drives was my Time Machine backup, so all the backups in this timeMachine are now lost. The NAS 12 to drive is a server backup, but I'll now have to re - build this backup (which takes days to copy all the data back). Camera memory cards are my biggest concern: my cameras contain each, 2 memory cards whenever I take a hit on the camera, the file is written on two cards: I've recently returned from a shoot day professional, inserted my CF card via a USB card reader only to find he had been "cleared" by the operating system , then I crossed my fingers and inserted the 2nd memory card camera that fortunately does not remove.

At this point I can't be sure if these disks will be reformatted arbitrarily by the operating system again, because the problem is intermittent and I can't find a way to reproduce the problem (not that I really want to replicate). So I am VERY worried and fear now to connect external drives of any kind to my main computer. I am now back to my MacBook Pro 2006 for any external USB use, like I can't trust my newer Mac totally up-to-date.

Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated!

Various disks USB, NAS, USB, memory, card reader Lexar cards

I can only speculate what the cause to occur, but a main suspect would be "disk utility" installed by Western Digital. These things have tended to cause spontaneous loss of data you describe. Products may go under the name of "Drive Manager", "SmartWare" or words to that effect. If you installed anything resembling this description, uninstall it according to his instructions.

The first thing you should so when buying an external hard drive's format using disk utility, thus erasing all unnecessary garbage manufacturer could include with it. For example, Seagate drives also include similar to Western Digital utilities. If I'm not aware of cause them similar problems, their "disk utility" software should also be eliminated with extreme prejudice.

I tried to run "Disk Drill". These utilities simply see the re-formatted and declare that readers have no errors or problems detected. I zapped my PRAM, I ran FSCK, I updated permissions, run all the cron tasks, run "Clean My Mac", emptied all the caches, etc.

Stop doing these things. Do not use any what non-Apple "disk utility" regardless of the origin or apparent popularity. "Disk Drill" has been known to delete perfectly good disks. Uninstall 'CleanMyMac' according to his instructions. Like all software 'cleaning up' in the same way by category, it's a scam whose sole purpose is to take your money. Just a Mac unmodified by this ill-conceived garbage clears spontaneously hard drives.

Leave the cache files and only cron tasks. The permissions are no longer a problem with El Capitan. Don't mess with them. Let your Mac works the way it was designed to work - without the maintenance that you seem to think it requires.

  • Reformat the WD My Passport Ultra for Mac does not

My Ultra passport was once on my Windows 7 PC. I reformatted since it on my PC just to get all the information out of him.

I want to format it to work on my Macbook Pro for Time Machine, so I looked into how to do it. He told me to open the disk utility, choose the drive and choose "delete".

However, the 'Clear' button is grayed out and it wont let me delete it.

Yet once again, the disk has already been formatted on my PC, is empty.

Is there perhaps a way to format it for a Mac on my PC?

You can't use a PC to reformat a drive for a Mac, take a screenshot of the drive with the drive connected utility, so we can see what you see.

If you set never sync, then you can always retrieve data depend on what kind of format you did. In some cases, Windows creates a C:\Windows.old folder with your old data. In other cases, utilities like Piriform Recuva may be able to rebuild some of the files. But then there are moments where it's hopeless...

  • reformat via Mount target?

It's a mid-2009 MacBook Pro latest version of Yosemite refuses to start. Various difficulty attempts have failed. Has tried to fix the drive via the recovery with disk utility. Hold on operations and that would be passing to always if left alone. I've tried everything else I can find, but nothing works. He crashes at startup and refuses to launch the Finder. Several times, it produces the error with a kernel panic, but no additional information.

So, in my view, that it's time for the final, dramatic approach record the disc. It is currently the lens mounted on an iMac of 2016 using the same operating system. Restore in recovery mode does not work, probably due to the State of the reader. There is a fairly common Machine Time backup, and when the disc has been mounted on the desktop iMac computer, I caught the user and the library of records.

My question is, is it possible to erase and reformat the drive to MıPro while it is mounted on the desktop of the iMac. Logic says Yes, but...

    Thank you

This reformatting that should be no problem. But of course, there is a (real) chance that the drive is simply a failure and must be replaced.
