Reformatted a hard drive now in a closed Chamber. Not an assigned drive letter. Installation in a NTFS folder empty?

Hello.

I have a few external hard drives. I want them to be little permanent on my laptop or desktop for creating media. The only way seems to be to not assign a drive letter and let windows assign/change it a whenever I connect it or assign a drive letter or install it in a NTFS folder. Currently only disk management is recognizing the readers, because they are not assigned or mounted.

I have a few questions about the editing of this property. I want to have several drives working independent of drive c as possible.

If a folder is placed on the c drive: 1. how many resources are required by c-drive?

2. what concerns me is: these devices should not access drive c. drive c. If the mounted folder still behaves like an extrnal device? Or is it considered an internal c drive folder/position?

3. I want a usb2, usb3, firewire400/800 or eSATA connection to have the maximum speed, not to be a bottleneck in a c drive thinking that she keeps "access itself. I'd rather have a c drive do it of thing and pull of external device, its weight as it is supposed to independently (or "independently" keepingin mind records temp and temporary files, etc...).

4 is it windows search for NTFS files if the device is not connected? I guess not, and I would get a message saying something like "cannot access this folder, no content inside" or "please connect the device to access the contents of folder and it is mounted. What concerns me is: sometimes my computer does not start up if all devices are not enabled (usually after an accident, mistake, bad closure or a change of equipment). For example: I need my printer usb2 lights sometimes, or I just get a black screen in these situations. Then I get all the usual startup screens, etc.

My alternative is to connect specific devices in a specific order to every time I use my computers for the purpose I want. Speed is my main concern, but I know that sometimes I can not connect external in the order because of what I'm doing, travel or I want to conserve their life and do not plan their use.

Thank you.

It's just a mount point, a symbolic link to the external volume.  Readers will work like any other drive, but they are assigned to a path to the drive rather than a letter, below all the NT object Manager handles this as a drive letter, the C: drive will do nothing to hold or store the link.  In a sort of way, that it would not much more different to a regular shortcut to another folder on another drive on your desktop, the office is on the C: drive, but when you access the file on the other drive via the shortcut it does not affect the C: drive.

    Hello

I saw the 0x0000007B BSOD caused by trying to install XP on a disk hard while the BIOS is designating the reader as AHCI instead of IDE. XP has no native AHCI drivers, resulting in a stop 7B. Unless the PC had originally Vista or Win 7, but it might be useful to check that it is not likely.

If the BIOS is set to AHCI, you could do one of three things (depending on whether your PC has a floppy drive)...

1 find the Setup F6 disk on AHCI support at installation time (start with the manufacturer's website if you do not already have such a thing). Watch the very hit F6 prompt early in the installation process.

    2. change the setting in BIOS on IDE / ATA

    3. create a new "slipstreaming" installation disc drivers AHCI in the existing installation disc, see http://www.nliteos.com/index.html

After the back if your BIOS is IDE / ATA

    original title: help!

    Hello

Plenty of detail? Or it came with your system - OEM? OEM, you should consult the manufacturer of your system.

Find a friend with one that you can copy that works if you can. (see note below)

If you have your product key you can use DVD a friend if it is the same OEM version if not the
retail version - also needs to be same 32 or 64 bits. You can legally copy DVDs as long as
you use your own product code. As the creator of the system will sell you another copy of the DVD
cheap since you already have windows. So if you have an OEM version, you can copy a friend
DVD if it's the same OEM version and if you have a retail version, you can copy the retail a friend
DVD - in both cases, you should use your own product key.

    Note:
(To use a copy of an OEM drive, it must be for the same brand and computer model - more
OEM uses the same disc on a small series of models and it must be in the same
limited if not exactly the same model.)

  • How can I safely reformat my hard drive to boot?

Ok.  My mid-2011 Mac Mini is dead.  Graphics chip on the motherboard is gone belly up.  I have a second Mac Mini that was given to me by a friend who uses it is no longer.  Now, I want to load my apps on the new Mini.  First of all, I am trying to load Adobe CS6 but I get the following error:

The Adobe forums, seems, there is no way around this except to the reformat my hard drive to the search.  I'm OK with that because the guy who gave me this Mini essentially emptied all of his stuff is basically empty except all system files.  My question is: how to reformat this disk on a sensitive volume without respect I can boot from.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Kevin H.

At the start of the partition of disk or recovery that you will use to install the operating system, open disk utility, select the volume, click the Erase tab and specify the format desired.

  • I had to do a system restore on my PC, which reformats the hard drive and he returned to factory State, and I lost all of my emails from OE and contacts. No way to get them back?

My computer crashed and the system recovery was the only option.  I know this reformats the hard drive and actually returned the PC to factory State, but I cannot now access all of my old emails and contacts on OE.  I managed to configure OE once again, so I can receive messages via my site, but really need to come back to the 'old'.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Two points:

Suggestions 1. see Bruce Hagen, but it is highly unlikely that you can get everything back. When you perform a system recovery, you lose everything that was on the disc.

    2. it is late to tell you this, but like you apparenly had no backup on external media, you're playing with fire. For the future, you can read this article I wrote: "how to return your computer regularly upward and reliable" to http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=314

  • How can I reformat my hard drive to its original as pronounced when new?

Computer is 6 years old LDP. I want to reformat the hard drive so it "s in the original as new condition.

I know that this will destroy any addition of files & programs.

    Need directions.

Look at your manual owner and/or your OEM (manufacturer of the computer - like Dell, HP, Gateway, etc.) Frequently asked questions for your computer.  Probably you have a partition that can be used with right to restore keys or you have a CD/DVD set to use or you should make such CD/DVD set or you can call the manufacturer and which now get (probably for a small fee given age) or you have the Windows actually any installation CD/DVD and the product key on the system itself.

Please give details based on this new knowledge.

    Hi Gvipercb,

    ·         You have your data backed up?

    ·         The laptop has been pre-installed with Windows XP?

If so, the product key should always hold good for resettlement.

Method 1: But first, we will launch the Microsoft Safety Scanner to scan the system. Check out the following link to do the same thing.

You can also download and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

  • Reformat a hard drive, but it still appears in "Tabs on other computers." How can I remove it?

Recently, I reformatted the hard drive in a PC and do not break the link of the account synchronization before doing so. The machine continues to be present when I pull down the menu option "Tabs from other computers"., even if I have not installed Firefox hard disk cool. How do I remove it from the list?

    Hello!

Unfortunately it is not possible at this stage. If something bothers you, next time you format a drive hard or generally remove a device from this point of view you should "untie this device" tab sync in the Preferences window.

Because you cannot return to this specific Firefox profile, you can't do it, but don't worry, it will disappear eventually (the servers store information for ever).

If you really want to remove it, you need to reset the account and reconnect all devices. To do this, you need to reset the recovery key and set up the account on your computer again. This is the process that we recommend when a device is lost. Make sure that you have a backup of your information before starting the: replace your synchronized data

And for information about how to back up your profile, follow this link: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

    I hope it helps.

Since you have a Dell and a recovery CD and not a recovery Partition, check how many partitions you need by using disk management:

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm

In case you have a partition with the operating system and a partition of the utility partition, I would only recommend formatting the partition from the OS. The Partition utility can be very useful.
