.reg file

Hello, I run Windows 7 64 bit. I found a file called cc_20140308_191623.reg in 'My documents', where it seems very incongruous. I want to move it. Where should I move, so that I do not mess up the operation of Windows?

Thanks for any help

VJCatmur

You put it where most is easily find it :-)...

Hi Mike and thanks for the answer. 'most' - who? I do, a user of the computer-illiterate, should be able to find it? You said earlier that "CCleaner will not be able to find it if need be": that will fix CCleaner in action?

Thank you and my apologies for my ignorance!

You may need to find, Yes...

Who put it into action until he left a registry file backup changes she made?

If your computer works ok, delete the file and uninstall CCleaner in programs and features. In this way, you can be sure that you won't get another file of the same type... :-)

    Hello!

My app needs a few pieces of information placed in the Windows registry. When developing my application, I built myself the architecture of register that I need and it extracted in a .reg file. When I need to change some keys, I edit the .reg file, and then click Zoom to deply the update.

I'm currently building an installer to distribute my application. Is it possible to import my .reg file / registry architecture in the section 'Register' from the Builder installer instead of rewriting everything in this interface?

    Hi Zyl7,

It also allows .bat files that allow the script as the windows command prompt and so could be used to launch a number of other executable files.  There are a number of websites that can show you how to make that http://www.computerhope.com/batch.htm.  With this, you should be able to use the command to add the registry keys and then launch another executable file.  Here's a convenient way around the single executable problem.

  • How to raise to open a .reg file

I took some classes in the school of night dealing with security, and they speak using an account limited as possible and make use of the runas command each time as possible instead of registration as an administrator.

Is it possible to run a .reg file to patch the registry without disconnection from my normal account and you connect as an administrator? Certainly, I could open the file and do it manually with regedit, but is there an alternative?

I would like to know for all versions of windows, but XP, Vista and 7 should be enough, and I guess that what works in XP and 7 would work in the respective servers.

Open a command prompt, use the REGEDIT /S REGFILE. Command REG (where REGFILE.) REG is your registry file).

I have a .reg file backup of December 2011.  I can use it to return to the configuration running without losing mail, documents, spreadsheets, etc. ?

I need to solve this problem, since the additional use puts me on my 5 GB per month plan.

Edit: can I uninstall .NET Framework or Silverlight without making my system inoperable?  Before I replace the registry with an older version, I'd try something less dramatic.  My feeling is that this problem started at the time the .NET Framework updates have been made and Silverlight has been activated.

    Hi Windsor,

Files REG is the backup of your registry and restore your registry, you will not lose any what email, documents, spreadsheets, and etc., it will be only restore your registry files. Some of the requires.Net application Framework and most of the site requires Silverlight, if you uninstall both the .net Framework and Silverlight, it may ask you to install when you try to run applications through which it requires .net Framework and Silverlight. By uninstalling .net Framework and Silverlight, you will not face other problems.

  • the .reg files do not load?

My power on my laptop and volume icons disappeared recently... again. I had saved the .reg files I used last time to solve this problem and went to the problem in the same way as I used to. Problem now is that the files do not work. When I tried to merge last time to solve the problem they open in a Word document. I can't work at all so I'm stuck with no volume or power icon and grayed out of boxes.

Is there a way to make the .reg files run again or am I just completely stuck now?

    Hello

Are you logged on as ADMINISTRATOR?

There must be some sort of corruption if the reg files are not associated with anything and
When you right-click on them and select MERGE open them in Word.

A registry fixing program will often cause such issues and they set very little.

  • While the research on how to correct an error in the observer of events, W32 tried merging a .reg file and got an error message saying could not access the registry, why?

    http://www.techexams.NET/blogs/jdmurray/synchronizing-the-time-on-Windows-XP-and-Vista-with-the-Internet/

Hello, I'm under win xp pro svc pk 3, ie 8, x32bit.

I received an error in the Event Viewer system for time synchronization W32. Help box said not to worry if it's a computer for the home user, but I'm tired of doing all the time, every day, so I tried to find a way to get rid of it. On bing, I found the above Web site and tried to merge the nist servers in my registry but I kept getting msg. :

Impossible to import c:\doc and set\adm\dsktop\timeservers.reg: the specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files in the registry editor.

the first msg not acceding, and I guess it was because I had the registry open at the same time. Anyway after that I couldn't import, just add the items in the registry manually.

My question is, really, was performed correctly by the copy of the list of servers of time in the text, paste it into a file and you try to merge?

Appreciate any assistance with this issue.

    Just for info:

If you see a message similar to the following:

Impossible to import c:\Documents and Settings\Jose\Desktop\enableit.reg: the specified file is not a registry script.
You can only import binary registry files in the registry editor.

That means either that your registry import file is missing the top line (or it's the wrong syntax):

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

or the file you are trying to import is not a valid registry import file.

If someone uses BI Publisher 10 g for burst yet, they can use the hash function in SQL and apply the same on the KEY column in the bursting of query and the query report so that the output being sent by electronic mail file will not have the real key in it.

    An example is as below ' rawtohex (DBMS_CRYPTO. Hash (UTL_I18N. STRING_TO_RAW (CCA. CUST_AC_NO, 'AL32UTF8'), 2)) '

  • Convert Windows reg file to the Thinapp project format

Is there a utility to do this?

Yes, such utility convert registry was created by FarCry3r seven years ago, but still works OK with some limitations. Binary data often looks like this:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Your program]

"Data" = hex: ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00,------.

FF, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, ff, 00,------.

FF, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00

For good convertion of registry ThinApp format, you must open regfile in any text editor and replace all the "------" like this:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Your program]

"Data" = hex: ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff, 00, ff, ff, ff 00, ff, ff, ff, 00
