Reg: Oracle audit regular performance impact

Dear all,

Oracle Database 11g R2 11.2.0.1 SE1

Currently in the development database, I activated the regular audit on SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE for about 10 (more accessible) tables on 140

The growth rate of aud$ table is about 100 files per minute (on average) and the DB is accessible by 20 people simultaneously.

I also planned the DELETE task for aud$ table every night at 12:00. (Delete rule-> SYSDATE - 2)

This audit decreases the performance of the database when I implement the same production?

If all this, I want to stop an audit anyway, not the bug (Bug 1257564: noaudit does not turn off auditing database.) avoid me by doing this, since I've found the fixed version of the bug in oracle support.

Guide to in this regard.

Hi malfoy

I suggest strongly that you to check the following documents concerning the Audit of the Oracle performance problems

http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/products/Audit-Vault/learnmore/TWP-security-auditperformance-166655.PDF

However, it is very rare that someone has faced the bug you mentioned, and the only way to solve it is to raise SR Oracle support

  • Remove all lines and insert them into Oracle can make performance worse?

    I m working in a project that I need to make a batch update regularly (every 4 months) of excel files. These files have doesn´t excellent key in their ranks.

    The development of a code that deletes all lines and inserts the entire base again is easier than one who checks in all the ranks of its primary key and if necessary update. (sometimes may be a key to 5 columns).

    My question is: if I delete all the rows in the tables of the insert it again, it will cause tablespace fragmentation and in a future loss of performance?

    Is there a way to avoid this?

    Thanks in advance

  • can I use "Oracle Database 12 c: performance management and Tuning" training for the certification "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054 '"»

    I took "Oracle Database 12 c: new performance management and Tuning" the oracle University training. Now I would like to get certified on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054 ' exam. Is this possible?

    I guess you ask if you can use the course 12 c as long as the condition of course for the review of 11g.  Over 12 c is not listed as one of the options for the 11 g certification and course requirements are normally specific version - at least with DBA certifications.  If you are already an Oracle OCP DBA, of course, there is no requirement of course for the review of performance tuning.  From what I know the training requirements for other certifications, I do not that you will be able to use it. However, Brandye will provide a definitive answer to whether the course 12 c would be acceptable for 11g certification.

    That said, I'm with John - 12 c review is about a community of 85 to 90% in the review of the 11g and is currently about 20% of the price while it is in beta.  What is the point of trying to cross the releases?

    The path to Certification indicates that, if you are 'OCP DBA 11 g' then you can directly take this article and there is no requirement for training instructor. Therefore, I decided to prepare my own. Can someone guide me on study material and landfills?

    Therefore, I decided to prepare my own. Can someone guide me on study material and landfills?

    First of all, the word "shock" has a precise meaning. It is short for "landfills of brain", which are illegal and can cost you this certification and all others you have taken.

    http://blogs.Oracle.com/certification/entry/0477

    Second - there is currently no study guide or a specific book to this certification at the moment. I write the study guides and this one is actually next on my list when I finished the current book to * 1Z0-117: Oracle Database 11 g Release 2: SQL Tuning *. I have a guide for 1Z0 - 054 before sometime in may more likely. That said, I have a few links for legal study on the companion Web site material for my series of guide to the subjects for this exam. It also has links to the Oracle documentation that contains the information you need. Once I have started writing the book review, links will develop quickly because I research for her themes and links to the documentation could extend as well.

  • Space/performance impact of attachments on oracle applications

    Hello everyone!

    We are about to go to allow attachments in our Oracle Apps R12.1.3 (RHEL 5.5 64-Bit. Database 11.1.0.7). Before you go for it, however, we want to know how it will impact storagewise and performance wise.

    Thanks in advance!

    Edited by: VinodNagpure January 6, 2013 23:19

    Attachments are stored in the table FND_LOBS - attachments are not compressed. There should be no performance issues don't related - extra storage will be necessary depending on how many and how big are the attachments. Store attachments on the file (instead of the database) system is also an option.

  • Oracle statistics performance impact

    We had empty and loaded tables more then 100 million lines, and our DBA put together the statiscis. Now, the tables are truncated, and we need to load data into empty tables.
    My question is applying the statistics of the last run will improve performance or there is no performance gain by applying statistics.

    I'm not a DBA, and so apologies if I ask a question wrong. Thank you

    Published by: anuragtandon on February 1, 2013 21:47

    If you are truncating and make the daily load in bulk then it's an unstable table for sure. Let me paste here what oracle white paper said "an unstable table is one where the amount of data changes radically over time. For example, a queue table orders, which, at the beginning of the day, the table is empty. As the day progresses and orders are placed the table starts to fill. Once each order is processed, it is deleted in the tables, so at the end of the day, the table is empty, once again.

    If you base you on automatic statistics together in order to maintain statistics on these tables, then the statistics should always be that the table was empty because it was empty during the night, when the work missed. However, during the day, the table can have hundreds of thousands of lines in there.

    In this case, it is best to gather a representative set of statistics for the table during the day when the table is filled, and then block them. Locking statistics will prevent the automatic statistics collection job among most of write them. Alternatively, you can rely on a dynamic sampling to collect statistics on these tables. The optimizer uses dynamic sampling during the compilation of a SQL statement to collect some basic statistics on the tables before the optimization of education. Although statistics collected by dynamic sampling are not as a quality or as complete as statistics collected using the DBMS_STATS package, they should be good enough in most cases. »

  • Client Server application performance impact due to the strong issue of retransmission of TCP packets

    People,

    I'm having problem of performance of serious application with my vSphere environment where I deployed a couple of database SQL Server stand-alone VMs (4 x VM) to be used by some applications virtual computers servers (4 x stand alone VMs) running Oracle Forms (Java) servers. Users connect from their own workstation to various geographic locations in Asia, the data center is in Australia.

    User (150 users of workstations Win7) - RDP-TCP/3389-> Terminal Server VM pool (one of the 45 x VM available) -Oracle Forms app TCP/80-> Application Server HTTP -SQL Server TCP/1433-> SQL Server VM.

    Somehow, report of the team of the network there are some consistent event TCP retransmit the packet between the Application Server to the database, as well as between Terminal servers.

    the accident occurred in any type of scenario same ESXi host or even different ESXi

    Material:

    HP BL 465c G7/G8 blades on c7000 enclosure

    All terminal Servers Server (RDSH) and the OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 STD.

    Database: SQL Server 2005 and 2008 R2

    What could cause the TCP retransmission on the virtual environment?

    wreedMH, what kind of problem you encounter on your server environment blade HP?

    What I did:

    1 perform the update firmware on blade HP, ANC and also updated the drivers of ESXi for last October 2015 using HP SPP.

    2. upgrade to the last update of VMware ESXi 5.1 3 b build number 2323236.

    3. switch to level the latest VMware tools v10.0.5 after having done both above.

    4. follow VMware KB: big packet loss at the OS level invited on the VMXNET3 vNIC in ESXi small buffers Rx = 8192 and Rx ring #1 size = 4096

    If I run a report for example which attracts a large number of events of vCenter Server and sorts through them, is that the processing and memory usage will be mainly on the virtual machine, I am under the report of?  How much charge it will put on vCenter itself?  (I see use RAM up substantially on the virtual machine, I am running the report)

  • Oracle 11.2 - perform parallel DML on a table that is not partitioned with LOB column

    Hello

    Since I wanted to demonstrate the new enhancements of Oracle 12 c on SECUREFICHIERS, I tried to use PDML declarations on a table that is not partitioned with LOB column, in Oracle 11 g and Oracle 12 c releases. The Oracle 11.2 SECUREFICHIERS and large objects Developer Guide January 2013 said clearly:

    Parallel execution of the following DML operations on tables with LOB columns is supported. These operations performed in parallel run only mode when it is run on a partitioned table. The DML statements on tables not partitioned with LOB columns continue to run in serial execution mode.

    • INSERT SELECT AS
    • CREATE TABLE AS SELECT
    • DELETE
    • UPDATE
    • MERGE (conditionally UPDATE and INSERT)
    • Multi-table INSERT

    So, I created and filled a simple table with a BLOB column:

    SQL> CREATE TABLE T1 (A BLOB);
    Table created.

    Then, I tried to see the execution of a parallel ABOLITION plan:

    SQL> EXPLAIN PLAN FOR
      2  delete /*+parallel (t1,8) */ from t1;

    Explained.

    SQL> select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);

    And I ended up executing the statement.

    SQL> commit;

    Session altered.

    SQL> delete /*+parallel (t1,8) */ from t1;
    2048 rows deleted.

    As we can see, the statement was executed in parallel:

    SQL> select * from v$pq_sesstat;

    Is this normal? It is not supposed to be supported on Oracle 11 g with no partitioned table containing the LOB column...

    Thank you for your help.
