Regarding the installation of the windows updates

Original title: window update failed loop

Hi, I refreshed recently my laptop (asus g75vw windows 8) in order to solve the problems caused by the ultrauxthemepatcher. Works perfectly. I started to reinstall updates of windows from a blank disc of practicality (moved most if not all the stuff I had to an external). The updater ran the first batch of updates, it finds with ease. The second batch, to settle at 83 updates failed somewhere in. He started back changes. After it ends, it is restarted only to resume the failed process. He is now on the [s] third [/ s] Fourth loop around... and counting

I read other posts, which leaves believe using the update checking tool, I would like to use but don't can never get into windows to use. Its impasse.

What should I do? What are my options? Is there a way out of this loop?

It's really frustrating.

I've heard that this is caused by corrupted updates.

EDIT: I waited patiently to see what I end up with. Surprisingly rejected windows fixed its self (kinda) and onlly 13 last updates leading up to 8.1

Had enough for one day. Here creating a restore point and the image. I'll post here again if I have more questions from the head.

Edit2: I cheated, after re check the updates and view the history, I see that only the first batch of updates were the only ones to be installed. ALL 83 and now count to 119 updates are left to install (they do not have to install).

I've now updated all my drivers to ensure that there will be fewer compatibility issues. As I know what asus can be finicky with updates of windows in this regard.

I started in the hope that it will solve the questions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-us running.
After that I have will return with updates on every 3 months made covers at once... This is going to be a long process...

Any advice is welcome.

@Yaqub,

Thank you for your message.

I managed to solve the problem in this way:

"I started in the hope that it will solve the questions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-us running.
After that I have will return with updates on every 3 months made covers at once... »

And the more disabling QuickStart.
All updates are installed. Everything seems to run smooth again.
I consider this issue closed.

  • I can't get updates since SP2 installation and update of the Windows Update Agent.

I have Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I have done 3 installs clean for several days and each time I install SP2 and update the Windows Update Agent I can't get updates.  When I click search for updates, it just keeps looking for hours and hours and never stops looking.  I tried several solutions on the internet, including those found here.  Of course, the first thing I did was run the Fixit of Windows Update tool.  He could not solve any problems found.  He gave the error code 0 x 80070005.  I installed the SubInAcl.exe and run several different command text and a text of the batch.  The batch text did nothing.  The texts of order had errors of syntax and a file, he could not access.  I ran the System File Checker, and it finds errors, it could not fix.  I just did a clean install on this machine 6 or 8 months ago because I was going to get rid of the computer, so when I put in place I used the username user.  I came across no problem at all when I installed the operating system and update everything.  Since then, I decided to keep the computer, so I wanted to have it in my name.  As I said, this is my 3rd try.  I am willing to give.  Maybe someone here can help.

I tried two clean installs and I get the same thing.  Once I have installed SP2 and the new Agent update, I can't get more updates.  It keeps only the search for hours without results or error messages.  I tried all of the suggestions I found on the internet, but nothing works.  I get always the same error code 0x80070005, when I run the Fixit of Windows Update tool.  There must be a way to solve this problem.  Why I was able to do a clean install of 6 or 8 months without any problems, but now I can't.  It makes no sense at all.  I really hope someone who knows the answer reads this.

    Ralph C.

I finally got it!  I tried two other proposed solutions, then I ran the System File Checker, which is no problem, then I ran Check Disk.  Check disk found and repaired files in the file system of BITS among others.  After that, I'm now completely up to date with Windows Update.  I was ready to give up.  I'm glad I did not.  For anyone else having similar problems, don't give up, the answer is there.

  • New installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit does not install the Windows updates

I tried it twice.  I install Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit on a ThinkPad T61.  After installation and activation successful Windows, I tried Windows updates.  The 'check updates' never ends.  After the first installation of Windows, I tried all sorts of bugs found either here or other Windows Help Web sites, does not.  So I reinstalled Windows, but with the same result.

After that the first installation was impossible to install updates, I received the Windows Update stand-alone Installer and downloaded the stand-alone files for updates.  Would install things like IE updates, but no security update would install, as well as most other updates.  Yet once, just standalone Setup would continue to search for already installed updates without ever ending.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the comments.  It's good to hear that you have actually solved the problem.

    Greetings,

    Please read this.

You can wait patiently (updates will appear later) or there is a problem in the article.

You need to reinstall Windows for the fix. Your PC must be isolated from the network when reinstalling windows. You need to download both updates and install before connecting your PC to the network.

I used the fix of Ed Bott and it works. But I reinstalled Win 7 again. I wasn't going to wait for hours and hours to get the security updates.

You can try to install these updates on the problematic installation of Win 7:

    1. apply the Microsoft patch found here. Disconnect from the network.

    2. install the two updates in offline mode and cross your fingers.

    3. repeat on Windows Update.

    Ohanna Hello,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forums.

Determine the current Version of WUA:

Determine the version of Windows Update Agent (WUA) before using it. The current version of WUA is determined by the version of the c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll that runs in the current installation of Windows \System32 directory. If the c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll is version 5.4.3790.1000 or a later version, WUA is installed. A version earlier than 5.4.3790.1000 indicates that the Software Update Services (SUS) 1.0 is installed.

When a call is made for SUS 1.0 using the API INTERFACE, an HRESULT of WU_E_AU_LEGACYSERVER is returned.

You can also use the IWindowsUpdateAgentInfo::GetInfo method to retrieve the latest version of file of the c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll that runs on a computer. The IWindowsUpdateAgentInfo interface is not supported in WUA 1.0.

For more information, see update the Windows Update Agent.

    Thank you.
