Regfiles

I would like to find the solution that makes a regfile opened in Notepad, when you double-click it.  Then you right-click to merge if you wish.  I thought it was the site of Kelley, but for the life of me I can't locate.

Using Windows XP SP3.

When you right-click a .reg file, you see three options: Edit, merge and print.  By default, "merge" is in bold and is the default value.  What you want is for "Change" be the default instead of "merge".  It's easy to do...

Double-click any file to open it, and then select
Tools-> Folder Options-> File Types
Scroll and select ".reg" file type, and then click on the button "Advanced".

You will then see the three edit, merge and print options.  Just click on "Edit" (to select) then click the button "default".  Then press "OK" your way out.  Now "Edit" will be your default value, double-click the option "merge".

  • Portege R500:XP drivers for 3 G module?

    Hello
(Sorry for the crosspost, this issue is already in the 3G forum, but this one is maybe a little more cluttered...)

I'm struggling with a R500, equipped of the 3G module, on which I have installed XP SP2 from scratch: I downloaded the Vista drivers for the 3 G module, which seem to settle fine and then installed the SW. MobiLink but when I run it, the SIM card is seen very well, but then I get "The Radio is off", so this is not...
    Problem drivers?

    Any idea?
Another strange thing is that the wireless keyboard shortcut does not work.
    Thank you

    Hello

For the moment you will find 3G driver for Windows XP for R500 in the web.
Try this, but it's a bit complicated:
-Remove the 3G Vista driver (device a modem and four com ports) in Device Manager. It is best to remove the files according to the oemXX.inf in the \windows\inf directory, too.
    -Download the M400 pilot 3G http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/3gdrv-20070810123322.zip
-Install the driver installation program. You will have 2 com unknown devices after installation because M400 has an older Novatel 3G module as R500.
-Remove the old pilot 3 g Vista and use this driver for the two unknown com 3G devices.
Now everthing works with Windows XP.

The other thing is the reason why your wireless keyboard shortcut does not work.
    1. you have the right wireless hotkey utility? You must install the one WITH 3 G included. If not download it from http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/wlkey-en-20070905152817.zip M400, remove the old and install this version. It wil work well.
    2. you must add the PnP ID of your wireless network card to the switchable devices list in the registry of wireless keyboard shortcut. You can do this in two ways. The easiest way is to download the network driver wireless toshiba website http://www.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/intel-wlan/wlan-intel-3495-4965-v111116-xp-2k.zip. In the download, there is an IMDGInst.reg regfile. Add the contents of your registry. Immediately after inserting the FN + F8 works.

  • How to raise to open a .reg file

I took some classes in the school of night dealing with security, and they speak using an account limited as possible and make use of the runas command each time as possible instead of registration as an administrator.

Is it possible to run a .reg file to patch the registry without disconnection from my normal account and you connect as an administrator? Certainly, I could open the file and do it manually with regedit, but is there an alternative?

I would like to know for all versions of windows, but XP, Vista and 7 should be enough, and I guess that what works in XP and 7 would work in the respective servers.

Open a command prompt, use the REGEDIT /S REGFILE. Command REG (where REGFILE.) REG is your registry file).

  • Drive double click opens search

When I double-click on one of my readers, I get the search instead of the menu from the Explorer menu.  I went to File Types and found in the car. It has a single line of command: FIND.  The editing options are grayed out.  I don't know rename FIND to EXPLORE.  (I think that's what should happen.)

Does anyone have a regfile that would make a double click on a drive to the folder explore so I can see what files are on it?

Type this in run regsvr32 /i shell32.dll click OK (Note 2 spaces)

  • Error message "Windows cannot open this file" for all .exe files.

I have talked with agents of cat and directly by e-mail to a person called Betty to and followed the steps all the recommended without correcting this problem. I can only run a .exe file in a folder. Any attempt to run an exe from Windows XP - Pro results in a box with the above mentioned error. He also said "to open this file, Windows needs to know what kind of program created." It is now more than a month to get this resolved. It only allows me to easily perform some maintenance and even investigations when necessary. This is the only problem I have with my system. I used AVG 2011 to clean my system to any virus or Trojan horse, and he pointed out that there is no intrusion. This sounds like there should be a simple solution because nothing else is affected. I am very frustrated not to find a solution after such a long time.

    Stan Hart

If you are sure that your system is clean of any virus and you have tried the steps mentioned to restore registry and still not be able to open any exe file you can try the method below:

"12 EXE (lnk and regfile) difficulty for Windows XP" http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm.

    I hope this helps.

  • Older program installed on XP. Now the error message always appears when Windows starts.

I tried to install Photoshop 3 (old program) on my Win XP. I couldn't delete it through Windows so I just deleted the files. Now on startup, I get "Windows cannot find 'C:\WIN32APP\PHOTOSHP\REGFILES\remind.exe'. I deleted all the files in the registry, to explore (perhaps more there where I found the reference), but he still insists on coming to the start. Any ideas?

Check the startup items in msconfig for the entry

  • The moderator last night found my problem of tracking both ed keys are corrupt. I lost the contact before I had the names of the two keys. My TSSTcorp cd/DVGW ts 552D is not recognized by windows XP. What are the two keys, please?

No changes have been made to my computer.  The cd player is sometimes recognized by windows XP maybe once a month.  It is not playing audio files or music CD or movie videos either.

I'll give you a link to an automatic fix for these two registry keys, but it really sounds like the optical drive is a failure. Replace an optical drive, it is very cheap and very easy to do.

    1. type the command in the dialog box RUN to open the command prompt

    2. when the command prompt comes up, type cd \windows

    3. type regedit to open the registry.

    4. expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and find the .exe file

    5. without it, developing the main folder .exe , right-click (default) right and the change . Change the value in exefile data

    6. in the same HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT , find the folder items exefile and click right (default) and the change . Change the value data to "% 1" % *

    7. Finally extend exefile , expand shell , Open , click the file command , right-click (default) and change . Change the value data to "% 1" % *

    8. close Regedit and restart the computer. When the computer reboots, EXE files should not prompt you to choose a program to run now and load correctly.

Once these steps have been completed scan of your laptop for any virus/malware/Trojan horses and you should find this:
    Infected registry keys:

  • Infected w/Spyware, etc? Keyboard typing on its own.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and a novice in computer science. Lately my computer makes a beep when you tap email, Word or even search engines. Once it beeps, the keyboard no longer work more, or more often it starts to type many characters on its own. Very frustrating and I am at a loss of how to get rid of it, but also how it could have been infected in the first place. I ran ComboFix first and can provide a newspaper if need-be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In addition, I ran MalwareBytes before and here were the two topics with which he kept coming:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open\command\ (Default)
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\ (Default)

This sound signal as being due to the blocking of the system or frost and it's sound motherboard. What I think, is that while you type a reason any PC cling and stop working and you might not notice and you pressing the keyboard or press the key on the keyboard to solve the problem and when it released to hang it then wrote to evertything you have entered but doesn't not visible here.

I suggest to check the update and make sure that everything is updated and you have the latest Service Pack for Windows.

    Also, you can try running:

    Hello

I've read other similar questions but I am writing a separate thread because my situation is slightly different. My apologies for the long post, but I'm desperate.

Computer information: Dell inspiron 1525 laptop. 32-bit Windows Vista Help

My current problem is the following:

I have three user accounts. When I start the computer using the Normal two of them, including the administrator, can connect to but a black screen with only the cursor appears just after. The third account, a "guest" account is not affected and works perfectly.

When I start the computer in Mode without failure or Safe Mode with networking, both messed up accounts can connect to and no black screen, Windows works apparently fine. However, this third guest account cannot connect. This error message: "Windows cannot connect to the service of the sense. Please contact your system administrator. »

^ This is the current problem that began Monday night. Here is what happened this afternoon before the problem.

    1. Tried to use iTunes but it suddenly refused to open. I read that iTunes does not open if my firewall is not up-to-date or there are security problems.
    2. I tried to look at Windows Live OneCare, but which does not either. Said that there is a problem. I can't scan anything.
    3. Windows Defender does not light and I can't update the definitions.
    4. I rebooted the laptop several times, did not help.
    5. The hub for OneCare computer works fine.
    6. I did a system restore to a date a week or two before.
    7. Downloaded MalwareBytes and ran scan.
    8. Forums suggested the fix Prevx. I followed these instructions, but as I tried to run with the black screen up on my Admin account, it would freeze just so that the computer checked.
    9. Repair the system says it's clean.
    10. I changed my settings so that Windows does not updated Automatic due to problems of the past. I currently can't update anything because the laptop freezes after clicking on the icon.

    Thanks for any help.

I have 2 PC which have made in the last 7 days, last update Microsoft OneCare was killied accounts Admin,.

To fix, you need to uninstall Onecare through the tool of uninstalling the program.

    Heres how

    (1) start the computer Safe Mode (press f8 just before the first window of the screen with the time bar) and log on to the Admin account

    (2) execute MSCONFIG as editable (type search box of the start menu, right click and run as administrator)

    (3) select Diagnostic startup and click ok, then restart

    (4) log on as administrator, and then start /panneau Panel programs and features select Windows Live OneCare in the list and uninstall. This may fail with an error (it did on both the PC I corrected.)

    (5) run MSCONFIG as administrator again select normal startup, OK and restart and it solved the problem

    (6) install the new Microsoft Security Essentials that OneCare will anyway

  • Disable the automatic connection for Windows 7 with 1 single active account.

I've searched high and low on Google but all I could find are methods to allow the automatic connection.

Is it possible to have Windows 7 load to the top of the selection of Auditors even screen with 1 single active account?

I remember what is a function available in XP.

There are probably more simple methods, but it certainly works: create a fake account, then bring it to be hidden from the logon screen. The following batch file will do it for you when it is run under elevated privileges. Of course, you must disable the usual automatic connection setting via this command:

    Control userpasswords2

And here's the batch file. Use the copy & paste - do not retype! Note that the line starting with
"echo > % RegFile" is a very long line that ends in 'UserList]. " Not to break upward.

    off @echo
    Set RegFile="%temp%\reg.reg".
    echo > RegFile % REGEDIT4
    echo > RegFile % [HKey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList]
    echo > RegFile % "DummyUser" = DWORD: 00000000
    Regedit RegFile %
NET user DummyUser supercalifrag / add

  • In Windows 7, the registry system shows C? ------entries rather than C:\

I noticed that some of the entries in the Win 7 Pro 64-bit registry system) have values of path beginning with C? ------(: replaced by?).  I know that the jokers are used as variables, but I wasn't aware of this type of use of '?

.. just curious to know what means this entry type.

    Thank you

    greygeek

The quick fix for this is to export the following key using RegEdit:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer
    Save it as:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-Software-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion-Installer.reg
Then load the RegFile in Notepad and do a replace operation:
    Search: C? \
    Replace by: C:\
    unless you Win 8:
    Search: C:\?
    Replace by: C:\
    Then save the RegFile as:
    FIXED.reg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-Software-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion-Installer
and click (or double-click) top to enter fixed data in the registry.
I myself found 2003 bad entries but fixed the lot in seconds!
