Registration of old vinyl records-sound card?

I have a HP Pavilion P7-1054.  I want to record my old records.  I can plug my plateau-turning to my amp.  I need to connect my amp to my computer.  I can buy a mini-RCA adapter to connect my amp for the sound card in my computer.  The instructions say "check your sound card can handle the line ' I don't see anything in the back of the computer that displayed"sound card ".   Where would plug the cable into the computer?

Hello

Please try to line (Yes TRY, I say not that it will work because much more material must first convert from analog to digital). The amplifier can help, but I don't know what's your amplifier.

Yes it is possible, but we need a lot more information before we can be of any use.  Of course, you have to play on a sort of hub.  This deck needs some kind of output connections.  You must then find an adapter that will result in the output to your computer entry tray, etc...

There is a low quality solution that may be easier.  If your turntable vinyl or has a plug stereo headphones, you can try to use it as input (MIC) on your PC.  All you need is the appropriate cable.

  • CS6 records do not ASIO sound card SB Ashley

I am on Windows 10 and I just installed a new card his Creative Sound Blaster Ashley yesterday. The daughter card has entered RCA for recording, but when selecting ASIO under device class it automatically shows the device as Creative SBZ series ASIO. When I go back to the Audio channel for stereo input mapping by default I need to select the aux in l/r for both channels of file (MIC no longer work), that of not really show or detect the named RCA inputs Platinum properties Microsoft Sound. When I try to register it does not record. If I go back to Ms. He fine records. I adapted the sample and bit rates to be identical (48 Hz/24-bit), but still will not be entered by ASIO. I googled and read through forums and creative Adobe forums and can't really find a solution. I downloaded ASIOALL and it has saved, but could not control the recording. He also recorded at the 44hz/24-bit. I normally record 96 Hz/32-bit for the recording of high resolution. Before, I bought this card, I read some comments that some had problems with ASIO drivers and I did download and install the latest drivers from Creative before installing the card. I tried to go through every setting I can find, but nothing works. This is a map high profile, and they announced that he as a great way to save using ASIO for studio-quality sound. I already wrote to Creative, ask for help too. It recognizes kind of ASIO, but not entirely with the entries, it should. Someone at - it a fix for this problem? Thank you.

Update - I finally got to do check in even at 96 Hz/32-bit, but it can not monitor during recording. Yet to try!

OK, I understand much better now.  I assumed you had live music with microphones etc.  Any transfer of digital records is another story.

Flat response, is that you don't need ASIO.  ASIO is specially designed for multitrack recording - picture a situation where a singer is to hear their own voice back in the headphones but delayed by one-tenth of a second or two.   Makes almost impossible pace and ASIO is designed to minimize the latency, but this isn't a problem for you.  Similarly, you're closing another software that could try to catch your sound card, so it is no more a problem for you.  FYI, ASIO makes no difference to the quality of the sound.  That will be determined in a mixture of your Platinum/pre-amp/sound card.  ASIO only effects how things work once it is already digitized.

The risk to Adobe on a sale, I don't think that the new monthly hearing (CC) version will work better with rather dubious imitation of Creative Labs of ASIO.  As I said earlier, I found thousands of messages of griping on their ASIO, against all kinds of different brands of Audio software, including things like Cubase and Protools.  However, if you want to satisfy your curiosity, you can download a 7 day trial of the latest version of CC.

I can resist not only one more to Soundblaster however.  When you later buy a specialist audio interface, you will almost immediately notice the level of background noise (hiss) strongly reduced - and in the same way, you will have more leeway to allow a greater dynamic range without distortion.  Regarding the cables, I agree but here is the first supplier American I found with Google: unbalanced cables: TS to RCA | Sweetwater.com FYI, Hosa is a good professional brand so do not be tempted by these very expensive Co Pro (which is not a respected professional brand.

(Either incidentally, my setup for vinyl is an old 405 Garrard slate thickness inches with an arm EMS and Ortofon cartridge through the phono pre amp in my all as old amp.)

    Happy recording!

  • How to record what is happening by the sound card without using the microphone to avoid loss of quality.

I tried, but there is no "Stereo mix" available options. There is only the (Conexant High Definition Audio) Microphone. It did not work. What I'll do is to buy a DVD for TV (tv Record program) burner and plug the hdmi cable from my computer to the DVD recorder and record what I want. After that, I just rip the audio from the file. I see no other option to do. I use windows vista Home premium.

I would like to know how I can record the sound that is played by the soundcard using Vista without using the microphone as a source. Let's say the audio is played (audio stream) and I want to record this stream. There are many software that we can download that record what is happening in the microphone. The sound bounces off the speakers to the microphone. But when this happens, you lose a lot of the quality of the audio. So my question is if it is possible to record what is happening to the right of the sound card, before being sent to the sound card in order to avoid the loss of audio quality.

    Hi Debra,

If you can hear the sound during playback of an audio file, then the sound card drivers are installed. You may need to update the driver, if you face any problem playback/record sound on your computer.

  • The choice between 3 sound cards.

I use system of integrated sound of my computer (chip Realtek 888) for about 4 years, but have always wanted to have the best sound quality.  Based on the comments I've read on this forum, I narrowed the choice up to three cards.  It was not mentioned on this forum, but it has big plug and generally good reviews.  The three cards are listed below, with their advantages and disadvantages, as I see them.  What would be your advice.

My main uses for the card will be digitizing vinyl records, vinyl record, band 1/4 ", CD and tuner for now, voice recording (will have to pre - amp mike and mike, but will post on this in the future), will be expanded to live music, recording in the future to short/medium.  I wish only in stereo, not 5.1, 7.1 etc..  While I would like entered S/PDIF, the ASUS card is overwhelmingly the best choice for other reasons, I can't live without S/PDIF inputs.

Please keep in mind that I have VERY good hearing and it is very well trained.  Really, I have the audiometery test results to prove it.

    1 E-MU 0404 PCIe

PROS: good to excellent care, have seen E-MU, spoken regarding this forum, is the PCIe and PCI not (even if I have some free PCI slots open) bus, has S/PDIF out AND in, threw connect IO I use comes with drivers ASIO2, a MIDI i/o (that I don't use), the price is the lowest of the three councils.

CONS: Only one year warranty, no Windows 7 drivers (E - MU said to use the Vista drivers and I use Win 7-64, but they are "followed the narrow issue" and will let us know when a version is released), employs a suite of cable which has 1/4 "TRS jacks-necessating a TRS to RCA for my equipment, some critics say that the cable breaks on its own after a while.

    2 M-Audio Audiophile 192

PROS: good to excellent care, drivers have support 64-bit for Windows, has ASIO drivers, have seen about M-Audio in this respect on this forum, has software routing entries and exits, he seems a chip of the op-amp can be changed (but not mentioned in the literature of M-Audio), a S/PDIF in AND out, price decent.

CONS: All drivers are old-11/14/2009, extension cable is said by some to have occasional problems, extension cable a 1/4 "TRS jacks-necessating a TRS to RCA for my equipment, e/s TRS jacks are spec'ed as balanced, but M-Audio was told they will detect automatically asymmetric and operate accordingly.

    3 asus Xonar STX

ADVANTAGES: best record of the peloton, most recent 64-bit Win 7 drivers of capacitors Nichicon Fine gold bouquet-2/14/2011, (from "Big Whoop", however they are what I used when I rebuilt the right of my McIntosh MC 2205 amp channel), three-year warranty, (only) taken RCA output, has supposedly EMI shielding on the critical parts to protect the analog signal (but shield is open on one side?) DAC Burr-Brown 1792 A, extensible op amplifiers.

CONS: uses a TRS stereo to dual RCA cable for inputs, only S/PDIF output, the higher price of the Pack, some say because it is made by ASUS, it is not a professional quality card, I've never seen mentioned on this forum.

    Dogs is good wrote:

.. .supposedly has EMI shielding on the critical parts to protect the analog signal (but shield is open on one side?)

Of course it does - it wouldn't have a shield in the opposite case, it would be a conductor. And this isn't at all the same thing. Join the screening at both ends for the points on the ground usually makes things worse, not better. To work properly, a shield of screening has only to be connected to one place.

And no, ASUS are not cards pro audio. Personally, I would choose the E-MU, and I wouldn't worry about the extension cables too. all you have to do is ensure that when it is connected, they don't move a lot and they are certainly going to be fine.

  • Video recording sound, black photo

Hoping someone can help me here. My M4 is only a month old and today while he recorded 4 videos, they are all came out a black screen with only the recorded sound, no picture at all. Absolutely smoking as it was a really important moment I capture and this piece of 300 pounds of scrap metal has ruined that!

I reset the phone, took the sim card, did a factory reset and it records not yet all Visual, sound just a black screen.

A 26-second video shows that 1.26 MB. When downloaded to the PC it's still a black 'video' with just the sound.

This is not the first Sony, I had problems with, I gave them a second chance, and now I feel it is a loss total and absolute time. Any ideas?

  • cheap sound card problems?

Hello, I have a few problems with the hearing, which I'm trying to fix. but ordered a decent sound card and thought rather than start looking for settings and the remedies of software in the forums, I would see if you think my problems are simply down to me using a cheap card. I hope that during the installation of these will disappear from questions, but if they are not, is there anything else I can do to improve things? IM interested to know what you think:

    1. Once finished recording, the track is always just a little out of time against everything I was recording on the other hand, and I have to drag and drop each track very slightly backward in time. It happened with 1.5 and 3.0, im used to IT... but its boring.

    2. (this only happens with 3.0), if im a long track (more than 5 minutes), reading from time to time registration will be stutter for a fraction of a second, which is very annoying, coz it means something registration after that this point is out of time, and it needs re-doing, ARGH!

3 vst, such as guitar rig/amplitude work well, but as soon as I use them on several tracks, I can't even read. It's just a waste of stuttering. (it's more frustrating because I can't even blag through it, the only way to preview the vst sounds is to mix the whole project and listen back - Yes, VERY annoying).

That's close enough, and a proposal, I would say that his problems of latency on each case. I'd like any comment on this if possible, but above all, do you think these 3 numbers are attributable to a bad sound card? or is it something I need to set up in the settings?

I use xp, fast pc with the beast of a gfx card and plenty of ram.

    Thank you guys.

PS. sound card is a realtek ac97 onboard, I think that all the necessary drivers are present.

Yes, it could easily all be down to your Realtek. To start, you need Windows drivers, and that increases the latency time. If you get a decent sound device, then you can use its low-latency ASIO drivers and you'll probably find that you synchronize the problems disappear. Experiment with the settings memory buffer ASIO and your new device should optimize its performance in terms of drop-outs, I think. Hearing still works much better with decent sound devices.

  • Cannot record sound

    I use Audition on

an old computer but have just "upgraded"! Now, I get an error message saying that I won't be able to record any audio input.  I have to buy a special sound card or other device for it?  I want to record my voice speaking through a microphone?  Thank you

So presumably Win 7 64 bit?  (Talk you about 6 GB of RAM).

There are a number of users of reports to a variety of problems with the 64-bit version. There are also a number of users of reports of successful use of it!  So who knows if this has an impact on your problem?

However, initially I download and install asio4all http://www.asio4all.com/ .  Aa3 is better exploited with an ASIO driver, but if your sound card does not have its own ASIO drivers, it is a very good substitute.

You mention that the output is listed as "Realtek Digital".  Is that what you want to use?  The most common output used, I think, is actually another similar, not digital.  The only way a digital output could serve, in my view, is if you were sending the signal to an external digital recorder or feeding it to an external amp that has a digital input.  You can change your output to an analog, in order to 'listen' it via headphones, external or internal speakers?

I hope this will give you a start to your troubleshooting!
