• HFM Application Cluster Configuration - failed

  I use the EPM 11.1.1.3 System. The Oracle database version is 10g. When I tried to reconfigure HFM Application cluster via the EMP Configurator, I get error below. I just added the name of the HFM server to the cluster and click Next. Please could you help on this issue.
  
  Error Msg in the log file:
  The server name duplicated SERVERNAME line: 1062 file:.\CHFMConfig.cpp error code: 0 x 0 error: the operation completed successfully.
  The user has been properly set up DCOM limitations
  Try to configure the cluster server.

• Analytics to extend for creation of star of HFM application schema

  I'm trying to create the star schema via Analytics extended HFM application but with the below error

  What could be the reason for this?
  Also can someone please provide all appropriate references or links to learn this EA for creation of star schema.

• HFM application copies

  If please help me understand if we really need to stop the source and target application services to perform the copy of the HFM application (with the utility).
  And what will be the impact if a user tries to run an operation in db when the application is copying, in other cases.

  You don't need to have the services stopped to perform the copy; However, if there are users in the system, it could cause problems. Copy of App utility makes a copy of the application to database level . If data changes occur when the copy is in progress, you cannot get those changes as they could be cached in the memory of the server. It is also possible that the tables will be locked due to actions taken by the users of the system, which will result in the application of the copy to fail. (You will be able to restart the copy of the table failed however) The source database may incur a performance while the copy is made; However, if you avoid peak times, this shouldn't be a problem.

  Keep in mind that all depends on what you're trying to do with the copied app. If you make a copy to test a change to historical data, it matter that you miss some cached data.

  It should also be noted that you can control the copy process. The tab produce, you can limit the copying to scenarios or specific years. If you only need a value of 1 year of data, why copy everything? This will significantly reduce tables that should diminish the chances of all the copy data contention problems. You can also filter State invalid Calc, data or zero value records. However, it will slow things down and require more resources of the server database.

  Hyperion Version - 11.1.2.3

  I did the copy of the application of HFM of QA Dev environment with HFM copy utility and the copy of the application is completed successfully. But I get the error message below when I tried to open the HFM application through the workspace. I tried to open after the restart of the services. But getting same error message.

  This could be a problem with your configuration, please try to run EMP configuration to configure Web server and check the status of the issue.

• No visible HFM application in classic transformation to Assistant Architect EMP

  Hello, we have 3 applciations HFM and none of them are visible in the classic of transformation for EMP architect window the wizard for me to trnsform for applications of EPMA.

  Currently, all HFM applications are in classic mode and I need to convert them into EPMA, to convert applications do not appear in the list.

• Audit report - HFM application performance

  Hello

  I use HFM 11.1.1.3 application and currenlty the audit report is disable in shared services. I just want to know what is the impact to enable shared services audit report. If it will affect the performance of the HFM applications? I want to know what are the impacts of the audit.

  Hi Pascal,.

  Allowing the audit report to the SSP don't directly affect performance HFM.  Audit data is stored in the HSS database in tables separate (SMA_) and the only HFM associated with options to log are retrieved and imports of LCM.  If you choose only a handful of the audit tasks, it maybe not number of records written in the database at all.  If you choose to connect everything, be sure to include serving the information as part of your ongoing process (quarterly or annually should do unless there is a significant activity HSS).

• Must all weblogic application servers share storage to implement high availability?

  I would like to understand if it takes a shared storage for all application servers that will run weblogic + oracle Identity Manager.  I used the following guides to oracle: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40329_01/doc.1112/e28391/iam.htm#BABEJGID and http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/availability/maa-deployment-blueprint-1735105.pdf and my interpretation, both speak to configure all application servers with access to a shared storage.  From an architectural point of view, this means the entire application servers need access to an external hard drive?  If shared storage is necessary, what are the steps to implement?

  You can do it and it will work. But products of Fusion Middleware GDE to provide guidelines to help you implement high availability.

  Having a shared storage will help you recover from the failure of storage, otherwise this could be a point of failure.

• Cannot create the HFM application in Hyperion 11.1.2.3

  Hi all

  We have installed the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 version in Windows Server 2008. SQL Server 2008 R2

  HFM and FDM only we have installed, but when you create the HFM application using Administartion of Consolidation that we are getting the following error.

  An unexpected error has occurred. Check the server log file or contact your system administrator for more information.

  We did it for,

  We re configured HFM and configured web Server, but no luck.

  We reinstalled HFM and configured again with fresh data, but still the same error.

  Your comments would be appreciated... !!

  The error you posted is pretty generic.

  (I)

  After the audit logs

  1 oracle EPM System > epmsystem1 > financial management > utilities > Error Log Viewer. Check and post if you find more details about the error.

  2. go into the event viewer. Launch eventvwr.exe > Windows journal > Application > search for errors in the source Hyperion Financial Management

  View details of the error.

  (II)

  At the same time please verify if all your HFM services has started well.

  Check in Manager tasks if the following exist

  1 HyS9FinancialManagementWeb_epmsystem1.exe

  2.DMEListener.exe

  3.CASSecurity.exe

  4.HsxService.exe

  5 HFMWebServiceManager.exe

  (III)

  You can even run some Diagnostics of EPM

  Go to start menu > Oracle EPM System > epmsystem1 > Foundation Services > EPM System Diagnostics

  This will give you a clean report that shows if your services have started and are well connected to DB.

  Sharing the fix in response to the post here:

  The 'Unknown error' error was due to the fact that underlying configuration of HFM with Foundation was broken and so HFM complained of another error, "the system cannot find the path specified".

  Then as an effort to solve the problem, in a scenario where I had to uninstall, reinstall and re-config component HFM which solved the problem.

  5 restart the installation.

  I need to upgrade our current 11.1.1.2 request HFM to HFM 11.1.2.2.  I'm relatively new to HFM and want to plan the steps necessary to do this.  My questions:

  1 copy the existing application - y at - it a utility app to version 11.1.1.2 copy or can I use the app to copy that comes with 11.1.2.2?

  2. challenges or questions, I should be familiar with the process of copying App?

  3. I guess (looking) that there is a utility to upgrade?

  4. challenges or problems with the upgrade that I need to know?

  The usual steps are:

  1 run the utility to copy request to copy the application the original to the new environment app

  2. run the schema upgrade utility.

  When you configure your new environment, you will use the app to copy to copy the application of HFM of the former base of the new database. The copyapp Wizard to copy data and verification of the data if you wish. Oracle usually offered to download the latest version of mysupport and read the manual to understand all the different options. The schema upgrade utility is a simple tool that allows you to convert your application to 11.1.2.2 and you must make any change.
