Reinstall the mavericks of recovery

Hello!

I have a Macbook pro mid 2010 which came with Snow Leopard installed and later I upgraded to Mavericks.

So my question is, I need to do a fresh install but since Mavericks is no longer available in the App store and my native OS machine is SnowLeopard, who will be installed OS if I use the method of recovery?

Thank you.

If you use the recovery partition, it will install Mavericks.

If the firmware of your computer has been upgraded to use Internet system Apple recovery and you use that, it will most likely install Lion.

It is not possible to cross the snow leopard either method; This operating system can be installed from a DVD (or NetInstall if you have Mac OS X Server.)

  • Don't reinstall the Mavericks 10.9.5 clean, no available iPhoto?

I have an iMac in early 2008.

was running Mountain Lion, decided to do a clean reinstall of Mavericks (Genius bar has done that for me, in fact).

    10.9.5 version

Now I see there is no camera app not iPhoto, etc. I think that Apple includes ALL iPhoto in installs it Mavericks, they do it because they can't stand!

I don't have any earlier version. or buy the "app store", as my old iPhoto was purchase/installation initial and updated updated

support playback... seen a suggestion to install iPhoto 9.4.3. who doesn't, says I need iPhoto 9.1, which I did not!

I don't think the new "Photos" app works on Mavericks (and apple suggested that with this computer I'm not newer than the Mavericks in terms of operating system).

so, I am at a loss? How can I manage/view my pictures now?

    even, in fact, with iMovie...

Seen a few references to get an ilife11 disk, then install an older version of iPhoto and then making a series of updates...? all this must be so complicated -? of course, I was not informed of this issue on the apple store :-(

    Thank you.

When you purchased the Mac, you should have received a digital copy of iLife (iPhoto, iMovie, etc.) credited on your Apple ID the first time that you connect to the App Store with your Apple ID. In this case, all you have to do is to go to the App Store and re-download the iPhoto, iMovie, applications etc from the tab purchased in the Appstore.

    Hello

You can find all the programs and drivers, which are the image recovery on your CD tools & utilities (maybe you need to create one program on the laptop for this). But on the operating system, you can get it for free use, if you buy from Microsoft.

It is no problem to install the operating system by yourself. But not all BONES are supported, Toshiba has not created the drivers of these BONES. All available drivers can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com
under 'Support & downloads' - 'drivers download.

Here, you can also find the installation instructions, and it is best to follow the order of the facilities to avoid conflicts.

    Good bye

  • Impossible to reinstall the OS from recovery CD

In recent months, my daughters Notebook has almost to the ground to stop, I did the usual defragmentation, virus scan, AdAware, Spybot etc and even turned off many startup files. So now she has brought from the University I backed up everyhting and thought I would start from scratch, reformat the drive and reload the software.

I put the disc in the hit 'C', in accordance with the instructions, it starts to load from the CD the % bar begins to show, and then it just stops. What I am doing wrong? I installed XP on a normal PC with OEM windows versions, but it looks the same, so I can only assume I'm doing something wrong.

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    Hello

The Toshiba Recovery CD contains a ghost image file.
This is not the same thing as an another computer from different manufacturers OEM versions.

Usually the boot from the restore CD should start the installation procedure. You should see the window 2 modes. Standard and expert mode (with old recovery CD)

Hmmm try to format the HARD drive first and then delete the entire partitions.
To boot from the recovery CD, and then try again.

I hope that the HARD drive is ok and there is no hardware malfunction.
A question: have you tried to boot from another CD of Windows? It would be very interesting to know if the other run CD.

  • Mavericks usb recovery

    Hello world

I'm stuck trying to create a Mavericks USB of my MacBook Air recovery. One of my mac had a hard drive died, so I will try to reinstall the Mavericks.

I downloaded the dmg to the app store, and then the trouble started. I use DiskMaker X or the terminal with createinstallmedia, the files do not appear to be copied on the USB, it remains stuck for hours with no improvement, and when I check the USB, I see that only 50 MB are copied on the USB. I tried with another USB and also an another Macbook Air, but the same question keep coming...

No idea how to solve this problem? I really need this USB now...

    Thank you!

The computer is too old to use Internet recovery? It would be the most convenient way. Your flash drive USB has a GUID partition and it is formatted OS X journaled extended?

  • P6-2207ep: using recovery system reinstall the original BIOS?

    Hello

I want to do a system restore because WIndows 7 has accumulated a few errors that prevent the use of some programs to me and I was wondering if:

1: the system recovery reinstalls original BIOS or not?

The reason why it is so important for me to know is because I upgraded to a graphics card that required an update of the BIOS, getting only a black screen otherwise...

According to the information on the system recovery it says it will reinstall the hardware drivers, so I expect to include the BIOS but wanted just to be sure...

2 + 3: there is an update of the BIOS for my Windows PC 8 options once installed, it cannot be restored to an earlier version.  System recovery will always be able to rewrite the BIOS for a precedent? If I install this version of the BIOS, it will cause problems for my windows 7 system recovery?

    Thanks for your attention!

    JoaoM

System recovery affects only the contents of the hard drive; It has nothing to do with the BIOS.

  • Satellite A80 135 impossible to reinstall the operating system using the recovery disk

    Hello

Ive got a laptop 2005 Satellite a80-135 that worked very well until I tried to format the HDD after a performance of Ram boost operation (kingston 1 gb Ram module).

    Just after that, the computer started showing software problems and finally crashed;
So I decided to reinstall the entire operating system yet. and here, I found the problem I really hope you can help me

The thing is that I can't format my hard drive to my cd player (with recovery CD in) when the machine is restarted.
In theory, start the Panel menu should appear after the computer reboot with the C key simountaneously key but nothing happens.

    Thanks in advance
    concerning
    jozze

    Hello

Simply, the C button the STRANGE start.
You can also try to press F12 after the laptop has been powered.
Then the start menu should appear on the screen and then you could choose the ODD (optical disc) in order to boot from the CD.

If this is not possible, the question is perhaps related to WEIRD malfunction or recovery disk.
Maybe the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc properly and so the laptop can not boot from the disc.
You can try to copy the recovery CD using another computer and might try to start using the copied CD.
If it does not the problem might be related to the WEIRD failure.

I had problems with the computer a few weeks ago and had to do a disk/partition Acronis backup restore. Drive C: / (and all my other readers) are working as they should but drive E:/where is the partition installed normal recovery does not restore properly. I recently had another problem and tried to do a restore using the partition HP recovery and got the error messages it is not found? I didn't use the Acronis since the results had already been mentioned.

HP web site does not list my computer and I think I need to order a set of recovery from my web research disc, but I'm going in circles on the HP web site trying to find out where to order or send an email to technical support. Looks like HP wants just to sell their hardware and then completely dump you after disregarding needs later? I am very frustrated with HP because it seems that if you have not purchased the equipment in the last 90 days you're in their "rearview mirror" when it comes to help?

I still have to call their phone support since I had 'experience' with their offshore support in the past and would really like to avoid new frustrating experience with the entire HP support system.  Why can't I just ask a question and get a resolution - is it too ask?  Apparently Yes...

Can anyone help me to get what I need to replace the recovery on my desktop computer partition and get it all working properly again? Thank you in advance for any help that will help solve this problem. Robert

Well, since the computer came with Vista, then the recovery partition will be of no other value to reinstall Vista, which I assume is not what is wanted.  If the Windows 7 install disk is always available, then reinstall Windows 7 on this disc and new departure.  Was the original Vista 32 bit and the new Windows 7 64-bit, so is not "upgrade was/is possible, but a new install anyway."  As the other 64-bit programs have been added after the upgrade to Windows 7, installers will need to be rerun to get install them after you have reinstalled Windows 64-bit.  Otherwise, the Acronis image can be used.  Unless HP has published this same model computer with Windows 7 64-bit, there is no HP support and hense no recovery partition. Sorry

Recovery delivered image allows simply and fast installation of the software. After the installation of recovery, you don't need to make a record.

    1. simply insert the recovery disc into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.
    2. turn on your PC while keeping the 'C' key.
    3. follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

  • How to reinstall the recovery Windows 7 image?

    Hello

I bought a new Toshiba L650 computer laptop,
The day I bought the laptop, I installed UBUNTU on it and by mistake I used the entire disk for UBUNTU. And I lost the entire windows partition and I didn't even create a backup disk.

Is there a way I can recover my windows. I have the windows 7 CD key written on the bottom on the laptop. Can I install using a few windows 7 CD and use my CD key and still use it?

    Hello

I hope my answers help you, then let's go:
    > Is there a way I can recover my windows.
N ° after installing Linux or any other OS version clean there is no way to install the original Toshiba recovery image.
    > I have the windows 7 CD key written on the bottom on the laptop. Can I install using a few windows 7 CD and use my CD key and still use it?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. This key belongs to the recovery image you have with your laptop and it cannot be used with another version of Win7.

If you have original Toshiba recovery image and use the laptop with the settings you need to order the new recovery disc.
You can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Is possible to create the cd recovery directly in the form of the laptop?

    Hello Diego

Creation of recovery disks work on new models of laptops, and all of them are delivered without recovery discs disks must be created with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
All new laptops have saved on the hard drive recovery image.

With old laptops it doesn t work on this track. There is no image recovery disk HARD and recovery of these media tool so if you want factory once again, you need to order original Toshiba recovery disks.

  • Impossible to download and reinstall the operating system after erasing HD

Yesterday morning, my iMac won't start.  It was fine the night before.

The progress bar reaches about two thirds to three quarters of the way to the end when the bar of progress disappears and I find myself with a gray screen. It does this by starting too.

I followed the advice of Linc Davis at https://discussions.apple.com/message/21333265 (hash) 21333265 (Note - I can't find the symbol of hash on my keyboard key so if you if know where he is, please replace by in the link - oh (hash) and tell me where it's too please ;-)).

I started the Revovery volume (now here actually).  Run Disk Utility/First aid finds no problem with MacIntosh HD (my boot drive). I can't find how to repair permissions.  The option no longer seems to be there. Reset NVRAM has nothing else that makes the iMac wonder my preferred language.

I used download and reinstall OS option.  The first time I tried to re-download El Capitan, it took 15 minutes and 45 minutes to install.  Installation failed leaving me to the grey screen again.  I think that the Setup program itself was trying to restart the iMac when he got stuck in the same place I'm stuck.  I left it there for about six hours before I tried to restart manually.

Tried to download the operating system again. This time, it was after using the recovery volume, select MacIntosh HD, by using erasing, then the option reinstall in THE.

I did two times now.  The first time I tried 'Erase and re - install' the download bar has got to a point about a third of the way across, and then he stopped. Time of download bar gradually got more and more long, up to what I canceled it (when the display estimated download time is six and a half).  The internet connection was problematic, or the Mac had stopped download (similar to the earier progress bar).  The second attempt to delete and download, the download bar has not yet started to progress.

My HARD drive has several volumes.

    1. The most important. My MacIntosh HD with OS 10.11.4 - El Capitan.
    2. The second, MacIntosh HD 2, is about 50 GB, a Mavericks installed on it.
    3. The third is 10.11.4 recovery volume.
    4. The fourth is another volume of recovery for the Mavericks.
    5. There is another called eDrive bulkhead.

Apart from MacIntosh HD, with none of these volumes I problems in starting up (with the possible exception of the Mavericks resumed, that I have not tried to access all since the update to El Capitan).

I used first aid utility disk several times, and no problems have been reported. I used the version of El Capitan permanently.

I can't understand why, after erasing the MacIntosh HD to do it again, I can't get the iMac to download the MacOS and reinstall.

    A couple of clues-

    • After his clear utility drive always reports what is MacIntosh HD. (When I restart, the dialog "Select Start Drive" only shows the volume of the Mavericks and eDrive)
    • Disk utility also shows "Apple Disk Image/OS X Base System."  OF THE said that it is ejection. But this button does not work.  I suspect it's what might stop download me the installer and start again.

I used e-drive to check the iMac and, in particular, the drive HARD; even performed a surface scan.  No problems have been reported.

Your 2007 iMac is too old to download OS X, you need to install OS X since the recovery partition directly. If this does not work then Yes, something is wrong with your HD run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back, if errors appear which confirms what I said. You will need the original DVD that came with the computer in order to run it.
