HP LaserJet P3015dn: Cannot print in Arabic

I'm unable to print Arabic on the IBM AIX printer. Any suggestion please?

No idea of what you can do in AIX, or how, just a few remarks:

  • The LaserJet P3015dn printer supports the three 'traditional' Languages of Description of Page: PCL5, PCL6 (aka PCL XL), PostScript.
  • I guess that your AIX system generates a print job using one of these PDL; I guess it is likely to be PCL5.
  • If one assumes that generated print jobs use PCL5, you must try know which PCL symbol sets are available and with which fonts (not all games are available in every font).

Perhaps it is likely that the following symbol sets are available with this printer model (I certainly can't speak for you):

  • 8V = Arabic-8
  • 11n = ISO-8859-6 Latin/Arabic
  • 10V = PC - 864 Latin/Arabic
  • 9V = Windows Latin/Arabic

It is not necessarily easy to know if these symbol sets is available, or which policies support them.

You could try to find, using PCL status collating orders, If they are supported by your printer model (I know that the LaserJet 1320n supports them, but a more recent LaserJet Pro colour MFP M475dn does not work).

The tool of collating the State in the application (Windows) paraphernalia PCL (available through http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu) offers an easy way to check this (you would need to request the extended Police entity type); support, the data returned will be something like:

which shows that my printer (LJ 1320n) supports the symbol sets 0r 5 M, 8 M, 8V, 9V, 10V with the Naskh font (as well as with the Kufi fonts).

Having established what fonts support which symbol Set (s), you can then use the tool example of fonts to print a grid of available with a particular font characters / symbol set combination.

... and with that knowledge, you maybe would have enough information to change your AIX "scripts" (or whatever they are called) for the font / symbol value required to print your Arabic characters.

  • LaserJet 1018 - cannot print documents

The printer has been connected to my router so it can be shared. He worked like that for a few months, but a few weeks ago, my wife said that she could not print word or pdf from his laptop (Win 7 32). She was able to print a test page so that she could use my computer to print (Win 7 64).

Now I'm unable to print most of the things on my computer. I removed the router and hooked directly to my computer with no result.

Now I'm able to print: a test page, a text document.

I'm unable to print: Word document (2007), Excel file, pdf or Firefox.

There is no special formatting in Word. I open Word and just type in random letters. I then click on print, printing box, I click 'ok' and the printer immediately spits out a blank page. If I click on the 'Properties' button I get an error message "Word cannot bring up the Properties dialog box because the printer returned an error."

When I go to print in Excel I get an error immediately "current printer is unavailable. Select another printer. "If I select print preview mode, I get the same error. Once again no particular presentation, just text randomly.

I tried a few pdf files. I click on print, printing box comes up but when I click on the button to print, nothing happens.

I am trying to print from FF gives me an error "an unknown error has occurred while printing."

I have re-downloaded the drivers of HP and reinstalled without change.

I am at a loss at this time.

You know that your connection is good because your device manager is refreshing.  This leaves us with a hardware problem on the printer.  It seems that your money would be better spent on a newer model, and then buying spare parts or sending it in for repairs.

Something that comes out is the fact that you are not able to view the properties of the printer from Word.  This suggests corruption driver, you should be able to see even when the printer is offline.  I wonder if this is the real to display properties from your list of devices and printers too.  If Yes, then it may be a simple driver corruption problem that can always be fixed.

Before you remove your printer, try to download a few different flavors of the UPD and test them.  You can choose to PCL5, PCL6 and PS, each has its own advantages and peculiarities.  Since you're on Win7x64 you will want to make sure you delete the driver and software and reinstalling.  Which will make sure you are reinstalling a table shave and remove any potential change to the next driver.

Uninstall printer and remove driver (Win7 x 64):

    1. go in the beginning > Type devices and printers in the search > select from the results

    2. highlight your printer object and right click

    3. choose Remove the instrument

4 put highlight something else in the list

    5. click on the button of properties of the print in the toolbar Server

    6. Select the tab drivers

7 highlight the appropriate printer driver

    8. click on remove

    9. check the option remove driver and Driver Package when prompted

    10. click on OK

  • HP LaserJet P1102 cannot print both sides of the paper

I updated my Windows 8 Windows 8.1 and now I can't print both sides of the paper.

In my old Windows 8 my printer HP LaserJet P1102 printed the odd sides of the document, then a pop-up window appears and when I click on the 'next' botton and submit the documents to the printer printed the sides of the document. After that the Windows update in the context menu does not appear, so the printer simply prints the odd sides and then nothing happens (just the red flashing on the printer).

I tried to update the driver (downloaded from your site), but nothing has changed.

I hope that you can add some useful tips and I can solve this huge problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I understand that you can print is more on both sides.

When the light flashes try and open and close the lid to see if continues to print.

(there is no button for the printer but which will resume print jobs)

I would do a complete uninstall and reinstall the printer software to see if that makes a difference.
You can download the drivers from this url.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&DLC=en&lang=en&LC=en&product=4110396&

Win8 and Win8.1 drivers are the same Version9.0.

Please let me know if the printer is connected by usb or the installer on a wireless network.

  • LaserJet 1505n: cannot print on 1505n Workstation Windows 7 x 64 - no way no how?

Recently built a new Windows 7 work station using my usual model - and trying to install/connect to our LJ 1505n - which is hanging on 192.168.1.8 connected to a switch in my wife's Office.

While the driver to install and the instance printed on my work station all look great - if I try and print a test page - the page hangs in the spooler - as always.

If I right click on the printer icon in the taskbar - right after sending the test page - I see the doc on hold and waiting. I dropped the camera and reinstalled about 5 times. I ran the HP print and Scan Doctor against the installed instance - it is said that all goes well. But even by making a Test print from the doctor - never complete.

I can go to 192.168.1.8 via a browser, and the printer is all good. Everything is good. The device is online. Device is accessible, etc. who responded.

    What I'm missing here?

    Sonic.

    Drakster,

I have an update to this issue. It made me mad that other devices on our network have been able to print fine to the P1505n without having to mess around with the printer, the switch or anything else.

Yesterday afternoon, I did a test with my workstation DAW studio - shot - print a test page - everything was good. Did the same thing to my workstation (the only works not properly) and encountered the same obstacle.

I noticed if I right click on the printer icon tiny in the printing status bar and choosing queue to print the 1505 - I could see my expectation of document - but the status column displays "error - printing". Not very useful.

Then - I finally understood the question. My workstation has installed software VPN (pulse of Juniper) and I remember very well have questions like this before - where software Pulse - when enabled - would throw up a wall around the PC and do not leave any substance network happens - like impression.

  • HP Laserjet 4 MP: HP Laserjet 4 MP - just switched to Windows 10 - cannot print

Hi - I used my Laserjet without any problems on Windows 7 but cannot print now that I went to 10 Windows.   The Laserjet 4 MP is listed on the page of the driver for Windows 10 HP, but the directions for upgrading the driver doesn't seem to work or there is something that I'm not enter.

In "Devices and printers", my printer shows already that it is selected with the green check mark.  When I go to "Add a printer", it does not find the printer, even when you use the option 'my printer's oldest  So I went the next step, try using the IP address. Print my printer Config pages to try to find the ip address/port, but nothing seems to match them.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I went through all the steps of the Windows Update, found on pilots of widows 10 for Laserjet page mentioned above, but this time, instead of choosing the LPT 1 port, I chose the USB virtual port (I remembered reading on that port for an alternative online), and it worked!  (LPT 1 was probably active before a few years ago, I bought a USB connector for the cable to the printer)

  • Windows 7 cannot print on the HP LaserJet 5 p printer

I spent about 5-6 hours on this and am pulling my hair out...

I have a new computer HP w / W7 Home Premium 64-bit.  And I connect to my old LaserJet 5 p via a line parallel to the printer, to a man, 25-pin (DB25), which is connected a parallel cable DB25 female that has a USB port on the other end. USB is connected to the port on the new computer.   The peripheral area is listed as only an "unspecified unknown device."

I started with W7 canned programs add a printer, setting up devices, download the drivers. Updates to the driver.  When the test print did nothing, so I went on troubleshooting.  So, which went nowhere...

Then I went to HP, looked through many sites of help Articles/community and finally used their technical support for BOTH the new computer area (had me re-doing the preserved parts, download the drivers through zone devices, once again, and when have not (yet), they suggested I call their "Commercial LaserJet" technician who said...) "It is no longer supported." And if the driver that you downloaded does not work, it is not MS problem, our.  Contact with them. "(Possibly), brings me here.

I went through the MS canned his fix and downloaded manually from the site of HP (as opposed to automatic download/updates devices), only to get a message... "Windows has encountered a problem installing the driver... error occurred during the installation, because it is not digitally signed or not signed it."  Contact your hardware vendor (IE HP, which does not support)

Well, you get the picture... I work a pretzel here... MS wrote it's HP, HP says it's Ms... and all I want is to use my printer who worked two weeks ago on my old Compaq!

Therefore, there is an index HP I found that looks like I might be closer to the problem that said .doc, find an interface IEEE 1284 in your devices and make sure there is no error code.  So, I found IEEE 1394 or something like that (I'm not there now).  BUT no IEEE 1284. Let the only error codes!

So, I came in contact with the service of HP, and how IEEE 1284 it there instead.  They said they do not know, and it's a problem of Ms.

So, to dig a little deeper, I found in 'Device Manager' I might add an IEEE 1284 printer... BUT slide it towards the bottom of the list did not have the 5 p. Close, but so far and nothing to update, as in the other area of the device...

So, I'm pretty frustrated that a HP printer cannot work on a HP computer, even after the download a driver of HP. This is 1284 IEEEE something you can put in place?

Clues on how to solve this problem would be very, very, very appreciated!

    Thank you

    DRJames

A driver for the Laserjet 5 p printer is available on Windows Update. See find and install printer drivers

  • HP LaserJet P1102w: Cannot install the driver or the printer

I had this problem on my old PC as well.

I plugged my printer via the USB port (a port I don't know for sure works) and nothing pops up to auto install or whatever it is. I thoguth that was weird, but I also thought that the pilot would be on the printer, so let's just go to the section of the Control Panel printer. I did it, and the printer is there, but he says that he has no driver. I tried the option to find driver, but that did not work.

I thought maybe I just need to download it then. Came on the HP site, downloaded the installer for my printer and started running it. He gets to the part where I need my printer and plug it into the USB port. I did, but it will not register in the installation software I did. The USB port works, as I have the ability to eject the printer in the taskbar, but I can not install anything.

    Hello @Kitanya,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you encounter USB connectivity problems during the installation of your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer on your computer Windows 8.1. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Now I see you tried first to install your HP Laserjet Printer simply by plugging the USB cable in order to run the HP Smart Install process. HP Smart Install is the installation program built into your printers of programming. By plugging the USB cable, if own you a CD player on your computer, the printer is supposed to be recognized as a software CD and an installation must be started. However, is there is no problem with the CD drive on the computer or the printer is blocked to be recognized correctly it can cause the HP Smart Install feature does not work correctly. That being said, when you tried to run the installation with the downloaded driver package and were prompted to plug in the USB cable, then because the printer has already been connected "prematurely" with the USB cable already recognized computer connection. Therefore, the computer won't recognize the P1102w related 'recently' if he thinks already that is.

With that all being said, I will guide you in the faster and easier way to solve this problem. Please follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Uninstall the drivers:

Even if the installation has not completed successfully a part of the software and drivers can have made their way onto your computer. It is important that we have a nice clean slate to work with, so please follow the steps to remove all traces of your computer printer.

    1. Unplug your USB cable from your printer HP Laserjet, as well as your computer
    2. Open the screen Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl key
    3. In the start screen, type programs and features. Click on programs and features to run
    4. Scroll through the list of population programmes and to locate the HP Laserjet.
    5. Click the HP Laserjet Printer and select uninstall
    6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, proceed to the next step.

    Step 2: Remove temporary files:

    1. Open the screen Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. In the start screen, type run. Click on Run to launch the run dialogue box.
    3. In the run box, type %temp% , and then click OK
    4. When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.
    5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.
    6. Close the Temp folder, once it is empty
    7. Right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

    Step 3: Reinstall the drivers:

    1. Please click here to download the appropriate drivers for your printer
    2. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top left
    3. Allow the download to run
    4. Follow the steps on the screen to reinstall your printer
    5. Do not plug in your USB cable until the installation screen invites you to.

Once the installation is complete, please test printing.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • HP LaserJet M4345 MFP: Network printer problem: cannot print, but can ping

    Good evening

I have a big problem. We have a network HP LaserJet M4345 MFP printer. It is connected to a switch and the switch is connected to a Modem of Telmex.  It has a static IP address. 5 computers to connect to this printer, but I'm going to use one as a sample.

The problem is that I can't print anything.

    • I can install the printer in all computers
    • I ping the printer
    • I can access the printer configuration using a browser
    • I can even scan a document

But I can still print the test page. We have a static IP and it does not repeat the IP address, the host name is unique and date everything is fine. I tried to ping to test for the default gateway and it a ping with a correct response time.  So:

    • The configuration of the printer can be accesed via browser
    • The computer can ping the printer
    • I can scan a document to the PC
    • The printer installs very quickly in all machines
    • The printer can ping the default gateway
    • The IP address and the host name are unique

What could be the problem? I tried to print in all the machines without success.

    Thank you for your attention.

It is possible that the network adapter has a problem but since it's your only work around would be to buy a direct jet EIO card and put in the EIO slot in the back near where the network cable is plugged.  They are fairly cheap on ebay and you want to buy a 610N, 615N or 620N one of these models will work.  You must assign an ip address that is different from the one assigned to the integrated card.  I think that there is a way to disable the built in network card, but I have to carry out additional research on that.  If you have an old hp printer that you do not use with a network card eio, even if older 600N it will work in this printer.
