Reinstall Windows 7 after upgrade to 8

Hello. I wonder if it's LEGAL to return to Windows 7 after upgrading to Windows 8. I don't know the overview of consumption, but the final version since October 25. I have a laptop HP with pre installed Windows 7. I can simply restore Windows 7 and continue without a reactivation? How would this work? And what will happen on the disk to upgrade of Windows 8? I have an image of windows 7 to reinstall. I'm not worried about windows.old folder. I was wondering about the legality of the process.

Thank you, Andre Da Costa for all info on how to do. While it was useful, but I wanted to know if it is legal to do so.

Perfectly legal, because the machine has obtained a license for this.

    Hey Buddy,

You have created the Toshiba Recovery disk? Perfect!
After Exchange of HARD drive, you need this you to install Windows 7 disc. The Toshiba Recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings, which means that you will have the factory settings on the new HARD drive after the use of the disc. You must boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen.

It would be interesting to know what data you mean exactly.
Before you reinstall Windows, you must back up all data on a disk for example external HARD.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 after upgrading to Vista?

I have my old watch office that I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and after 4 years I want to reinstall Windows 7 to start fresh. The Vista that was on it, I have the disc Version of OEMs and for Windows 7, I have the disk that was given to me by the technology that made the upgrade for me after that he did the upgrade. It was made by the upgrade online. J' have the product keys for both. My question is: what I have to reinstall the Vista using the disk of Vista (and key) and then go back and reinstall Windows 7 using the Windows 7 disc (and key) or can I just do a custom installation using the disc of Windows 7 only and the product key for this? I just want to wipe all of my drive and start again with nothing other than the Windows 7 above. I've moved to Windows 8 on my new computer, but want to keep my old machine running Windows 7 (I'm sure that all your diehard 7 users understand why!). Please let me know how to do this.

    Thank you

    Just make a custom installation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Looking for a 'how-to' guide reinstall Windows Vista after upgrading motherboard

Original title: the motherbard and cpu upgrade

I want to install (I hope) soon new motherboard and CPU and I was looking for how to guide to reinstall vista after upgrade of the motherboard. Is it possible to get to the office without big hazzle and start reinstalling from there.

In fact, I want to reinstall vista because I think it's much easier to try to record all programs and other settings.

I tried to use already search funtion and it did not the asnwer I was looking for.

I have oem (at least it says in the box) version of vista 32 bit.

If the motherboard is exactly the same or almost exactly the same there should be no problem.  Otherwise you will want to completely reinstall Vista or even your system will contain drivers for the hardware is no longer present or missing drivers for the new hardware on the motherboard.

"illuknisaa" wrote in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... *

I know how to reinstall Vista (I did this couple times) but I don't know how Vista reacts when a new motherboard is installed. I just need to reactivate vista or even will I get to the office?

  • Reinstalling windows 7 after upgrading windows 10 PC Restore

try to reinstall windows 7 Home premium Service Pack 1 DVD to boot. starts with loading files, then a selection box appears but I do not have access to pointer or keyboard mouse @ the first option, this being-select country - language ect... no access to choose so I stop PC using the power button / stop. can any 1 help?

Hey did some checking in the forums and the web and found that a lot of people have had this problem and 99% of the time it was a bios problem. Make sure you also in your startup list you have the correct boot order which, for the most part, is cd, usb, hard drive, in that order. There is also an option called usb legacy list or just the usb mode to make it compatible. If you have difficulties to enter your bios, here is a list of keys

    ASUS - F8
    HP/Compaq - Esc
    Sony - F2
    Acer - F12
    Gateway - F10
    eMachnes - F10
    Toshiba - F12
    Dell - F12

    NEC - F2

Make sure to go through all the lists in the bios and check to the right of the keyboard and usb ect. and he'll say: enabled or disabled. Make sure you that you save your settings before you leave.

Moreover, for some depending on your bios keyboard and mouse are on the Advanced tab.  Once again not sure how old your system is or what type of machine you have, but that's what you're looking for

  • How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive?

How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive? do I have to call microsoft or I can retrieve it somehow to the old hard drive?

Well, that certainly puts a different point of view on this subject.

There are data recovery services that can recover data from disks that have suffered from various types of failures. However, they are quite expensive. Unless the data is particularly useful, it is generally not useful.

If your Windows 7 is an OEM version, installed on the computer when you bought it, the manufacturer could have a recovery disk on sale. If it was a retail copy and you always have the appropriate product/serial number, you can get a DVD of their team of parts replacement.

Bought the computer, HP dv7 64 bit and at the same time I bought the upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. A online and use the PIN number provided and downloaded the upgrade. HD crashed a few days ago and would be * to reinstall Windows 7 Pro.

You need to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium.

Turn it back on, then repeat the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. I upgraded the card mother, memory and CPU.  Kept the old SATA hard drive.
Reinstalled Windows XP.  Now, I have no icons, like a new computer.  All my programs are on the C: drive, but none of the programs appear on the start-> list all programs.
    It's like I'm a new user.
Any ideas?  I wish I had my old office back.  At least all of my data, photos are always "there".

  • Need Switchable Graphics for Windows 8 after upgrade?

    Hey guys,.

I see several issues where people lose their switchable graphics after upgrade to Windows 8.

Now, the only drivers graphic switchable which must be downloaded for future needs on the site of the factory which should be HP.

Now, is the first step, we want to take

    • Check and see if your mobile phone is supported by Windows 8.

You can check HERE to see if it is supported.

If this isn't the case, then more than likely there will be no available drivers until the phone is supported.
    • If the laptop is supported by Windows 8 HP website and your product type # in the next selection > and then select the operating system > click Next > and look under the section that says "Driver - Graphic" and start the download.
In addition, there are several places where you can find ' workaround ' meaning drivers, you can download switchable graphics 3 third-party sites. As AMD and Other installs

    Other facilities

It will be the call to users to go and download these drivers. Now that could be a hit or miss.

SO BE VERY CAREFUL OF ANYTHING TRY YOU AND DOWNLOAD IMITATING SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS DRIVERS.

    I hope it's useful!

  • Reinstall "Windows 7 Anytime upgrade.

My computer has Windows 7 anytime upgrade available when I bought it. I've updated when he was available and received the disks. Since then, I had to reinstall everything on my computer that rely on Windows Vista.
The 'Windows 7 upgrade Express' is no longer available. Can I use the discs I received initially and reinstall the upgrade
    Thank you

The "Anytime Upgrade" is for the upgrade of a small version of Windows 7 to a higher version of Windows 7 (example: in Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional).

Probably you have, it is the promotional offer about 2 years ago which would allow you to buy a computer with Vista installed and then upgrade to Windows 7, when it became available.

If this is the case you must install Vista and activate with the Vista product key, and then use the Windows 7 upgrade DVD and associated Windows 7 product key.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 after a hard drive cleanup

Hello. This is the first time I used any kind of help forum. Yesterday (Christmas day) I got old laptop (Acer Aspire 5100) mother after she got a new. I used Darik Boot and Nuke (DBAN) to wipe the hard drive. 149 GB, only 20ish GB were remaining. Is took about 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete. Of course, being an impatient teenager, I forgot to see if I had a Windows installation disc or other means to reinstall Windows. All hope is lost? Are there ways to reinstall Windows in my current state?

Use of the image that corresponds to that indicated on the sticker COST of the computer. You will also be able to read the sticker key COA code. If you do not have a COA sticker or it is unreadable, the links to Windows 7 will be of no use to you.

Microsoft Windows USB/DVD download tool can be used to copy the installation on USB files if you want to install using a USB device. The name feels strange that you do not download Windows using the tool, but use a local ISO image to burn to DVD or copy to USB.

To better understand the issue, I would need more information on your side.

    1. are you able to open other Apps of metro?
    2. What is the full error message?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

    1. Corrupt the App Store.
    2. Incorrect settings App.
    3. Corrupt system files.

Try the steps listed here and see if it helps:

    Method 1:
