  I'm pretty new in this at work, but I was put in charge of fixing one of the computers.

  It was running on windows XP Professional.
  but then Windows XP Home Edition has been installed.

  Someone wanted to Windows 7 on the computer, so I tried to install this... it does not work.

  The computer wil not start, then when it asks to click on f12 or f2, I click on (tried twice) both
  When I go to the start menu, the arrows do not work, so I can not seloect anything.
  I have to let it boot to the 'Welcome' screen (where you connect)
  Also ' still looks like Windows xp

  I can't log on, and then I click the button to do this, it gives me a message that says:
  "you must activate this copy of windows to connect, you want to activate it now?

  It gives me the options of Yes and no.
  When I click No., goes back to the Welcome screen
  but when I click Yes, it looks like it will record in, but the only thing that appears is the image on the desktop and the cursor.
  do not show the start menu, taskbar and icons on the desktop.
  The last time this happened, I waited for a few hours, but it has not changed.

  I have no idea what to do

  I don't know if the hard drive has been formatted before I tried to install windows 7.
   
  I tried to install windows 7 with the cd.
  I also know that Windows XP Home Edition has been installed by a CD as well.

  I just tried the Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
  Nothing is silent... not even the Task Manager

  Usually, uninstalling and reinstalling is useful if the program files are damaged. When the question if an add-on or setting, so you don't expect to see a change. (I assume that you delete all your personal data, because that could blow your bookmarks.)

  First of all, you are mistaken when you say that the PC does not start.

  This is clearly starting. The problem comes from Windows, not with the real PC. It's actually a very important distinction!

  There are methods to repair Windows, but they can be a bit tedious. By all means, follow the advice given here to do if you're so inclined.

  If you would not rather to repair Windows (and I think it's interesting a try) or your repair attempts are unsuccessful, apparently, you would need to use an external optical disc drive and follow the instructions here:

  Have you tried a soft-reset/reboot? Press and hold buttons sleep and home for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the "slide to power off" if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear and it should restart.

  When you call the activation line, and you will be asked your require service who do NOT respond. This should oblige the operator to pick up, whi can deal with you.

  I have a MBP, which has 7 months, El Capitan, and all the latest updates installed.

  I bought 11 ASK yesterday and spent several hours all the files download and installation. Each file was said to have installed successfully.  Yet, the application does not activate and open. Such a bad dream, whenever I double click the ICON for (ask 11) a window opens asking for the license number and my name, email and blah, blah, blah. I complete the entire form, and Yes, I use the correct license key - one that is provided in the purchase confirmation email. And when I select OK, Mathurine, go ahead and activate the application. Noting happens. The window closes and the screen turns off. Activation does not work.

  few things to try:

  • uninstall any antivirus on mac where you have installed.

  they are horrible on mac, kill them and claim your money from their long before requesting a refund to SM.

  Uninstall directions are displayed on the web pages of developers.

  • Uninstall everything and keeping, cleaning or network utility outside that came with the operating system.

  Ask like 'home', make sure you have a clear line between your host and their servers.

  • create a new administration account, start on this account and try to run the application

  • Do drag the layer folder from the applications folder on the office and see if it goes up from there.
  • The installation of the base application must not be the default location (Macintosh HD/Applications) to another external drive or other media so you can prevent it.

• My hard drive has left an old system to a new system and now I can not activate Windows.

  I spent two days now trying to get a computer at work, I've built. I use new parts other than my used hard drive previously. I was not able to install the drivers for my network so I'm stuck right with the activation screen when I connect. If I do not activate and then I get kicked out and have to log in again. I cannot connect to the network to turn on obviouly and when I call them they say my ID intillation in does not correct and they don't recognize it as a valid product. I then remove my hard drive and put it back in the old machine and as if by magic, it works fine after activation. How am I supposed to install my drivers so I can activate if I can't go to my screen to install? This is the second time that this happens, and I really not prefer to buy a new windows disk for something that already works.

  The best thing to do when such strangeness slips into your phone is a battery pull.  Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it a few seconds later.
