  I use a retail version upgrade of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a desktop PC, I've implemented myself 4 years ago.  I have upgraded to Windows XP then.

  I think I would buy a new card mother and CPU in another year and I hope that my current installation of Windows 7 on my hard drive (fairly recent) current will be able to start with the new MB and CPU - and just to require new drivers for chipset.  However, I know that this will not work and I might have to reformat the drive and do a clean install of Windows 7.  I'll be able to do it from my Windows 7 upgrade installation disc?

  Unfortunately, I got rid of my old XP drive because I'm moving soon and I threw it without thinking.  Do I need to reinstall Windows 7?  I still have my old XP serial number and product key, and of course, my Windows 7 product key and serial number.  Also, I have an old system repair disc and could make another if this will help.  Thanks for your advice.

  My Dell had a Windows Vista operating system. I installed Windows 7 as an upgrade. BOT Family Pack and send the original to our son who lives across the country.   I have a Qosmio X 300 15U and just bought DVD update for the operating system: to Vista64 for Windows 7 (home premium).
  I got it by Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade site.

  I installed the upgrade and it works fine, so far.
  Only possible problem for the future, is that I can't find product key label Windows 7 attached to the case of paper (probably lost) DVD
  I have the DVD (for other series, almost...)

  Anyone know if it is possible to make the Toshiba support, send my old Windows 7 key product or a new (only in the case of reinstall...)
  It also appears that Microsoft has validated my install via their tool (WGA, I think)
  I have to go back to using MS (paid), for such a (simple, for me) case?

  As you can see a free update is possible on mobile phones purchased from June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010.
  In addition your model isn't Windows 7 supported. There only driver limited support for a clean install of Windows 7 and so that you can t get a disc of Windows 7 at Toshiba.

  No, you will not get an option to erase hard disk or delete partitions during the upgrade of your operating system. However, you will get this option during custom installation.

  Formatting your hard drive during a custom installation of Windows 7 permanently erases everything on the partition that you put in the form, including your files, settings and programs.

  Check in the BIOS for options enable the USB of differnet options (Ex: at startup, inheritance, etc.) and enabled them.

• Reinstall Windows Vista - no disc!

  Can someone help me please!  My Vista Home Premium recently became slow with several problems.  I recently updated my anti-virus software installed and run a registry clean program. The new version of anti virus seems to have caused problems - auto quarantine and deleting the .exe files for a lot of programs (e.g. wmplayer!). The antivirus software has also corrupted I open it is more!  I can't uninstall or reinstall the Virus software like 'windows install' is also now apparently not installed!

  So I thought that the best thing to do is to reinstall Vista and reformat the hard disk.  Problem.  I have the product key on the sticker on the back of the laptop, but as it came pre-installed with vista, I don't have an installation cd or dvd.  Anyone know how I can reininstall without one, or how I can get one from Sony or Microsoft?  Thank you.

  If the computer manufacturer did not include Vista drive/s, there should be a recovery hard disk Partition.

  It's the way they do now, most of the time. We are supposed to do the recovery disks it ourselves, with the instructions included in the software of the manufacturer installed in the start menu > programs.

  At the bottom of the splash Screen at startup/power on, there is usually a number key, F10 or F11, hit to start the recovery process, in order to resume the factory (out of the box) standards.

  Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

  See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

  Each manufacturer has their own way of doing a recovery to factory standards.

  And save all of your data before you do, as a resettlement wipe everything from your hard drive...
