When I tried to run Windows Recovery discs 7 32 bit Home Premium, I get a message 'no operating system found'. Toshiba support told me that I needed to replace the internal hard drive. I am a novice computer. Once the new disk in, these discs will work? Is there something special that needs to be done, or should I just run the disks? Also, given that the netbook is not a hard disk, I will be their execution via an external dvd drive. Will this work? Any help or pointers would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Have your program files on the HARD drive defeated the purpose of having an SSD in the first place. The goal is to start the operating system and load your programs faster.

Then, install the operating system and programs on the SSD and store your personal files (Documents, music, photos, videos etc.) on the HARD disk.

Demarrer start from the Windows 7 DVD, and then select the SSD drive during installation

Cannot import Windows Mail 6.0 files after reformatting the hard drive

Desktop HP of my wife had to be reformatted. It is under Vista Home Premium. Email is vesion Windows Mail 6.0. I exported all the personal files in Windows Mail she wanted, through the export feature. They are stored on a DVD right now. The problem is that once I have reformatted the hard disk to the original factory conditions, I can't import files or messages. The import in the Wizzard options is for Windows Mail (with outlook and Express) 7. When I choose 7 Mail I get the following error message: "no messages are located in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open. If I navigate to the actual stored email files on the backup DVD I can open individual emails so that they were saved. What can I do?

It is a bit of extra work, but it will do the job.
- Copy the files from the DVD to the desktop.
- Open WinMail and create the folders that you need to match those on the desktop.
- Open a folder on the desktop and you should see all of the messages as .eml files.
- Select all, then right click on them. Drag the corresponding folder of WinMail and copy here.
That worked? You can remove the files from office once facts.

The activation window is empty. XP Pro SP3 + System (2 updates the version) beta of SP4 added due to problems of program. Build 2600.xpsp + sp3_gdr_101209-1647(Service Pack 3). Problem started after the replacement of the boot hard drive that wasn't. New drive has been a ghost of the old boot copy and active. Having the disk key and product to install but the CD won't deal with any problems indicating that the version of the program is different, probably because of upgrades SP. The program disk is that Windows XP Professional Service pack 2 Version 2002, Ref. 0304 x 10-52217 and has passed many tests for over the years of downloads genuine microsoft software. Windows 8 store listing Multiple PCs with the same name - how to remove?

Hi there... when I go to the store in Windows 8, in my account settings, I see four listed computers. Two of them are named similarly (I reinstalled Windows 8 a few weeks after I had first and kept my the same PC name).

I would like to remove one of the PC that has a duplicate name, but I don't know that one to remove. Y at - it an easy way to see what is the PC I'm on right now, and what is the old PC? I'm paranoid that to remove that incorrect it will cause my apps on this PC to stop working.

In fact, I just understand how do. Here's what worked for me:
- Rename your computer from the desktop. Right click on my computer > properties > etc.
- You will need to reboot for the change to take effect.
- Now, go to the Windows store and download an application. Any application. It may be a free, or one that you have already purchased. Is not serious.
- Once the download is complete, you can return to your account in Store, and you'll see your list of computers is updated with your newly renamed computer.
- You can now delete the duplicate computer registration.
- Once it is removed, follow the steps above to rename your computer in its original name.
It seems that you must actively download an app from the store in order to force it to update the list of the PCs in your bank account settings.

Portable 500 GB HDD of my friend Toshiba Satellite A660 seems to have died.
I tied him to my laptop on a sata dock and runs a data recovery program because nothing has been saved. The recovery takes forever, however, and she really needs his computer to work.

You either have the recovery disk or you are going to install the system using the Microsoft Windows disk.
