Reintalling Windows 7 on a laptop computer he had pre-intalled?

So I would like to do a re-installation of Windows because I accidentally downloaded many viruses and computer took just slowly over the years, so I would like to do a re-installation of Windows 7 Pro with key located on the back of the laptop.  However, when I try to download the iso, it comes up with an error message saying that this key was a pre-installed version and I can not download it blah blah blah.  I just want to know how can I use the product key on the laptop to get the iso file or a workaround.

Thank you, Christopher

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

    Hello

Until you try to install Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

  • Can I install / upgrade to Windows 7 Professional on a laptop computer which had XP Pro installed but has been erased?

Sister bought acheap laptop computer with XP Pro license key sticker, but the HARD drive has been erased.  If she can get her hands on a XP Pro CD it can install using this key?  Furthermore, she has a DVD Win 7 Pro by another PC - can she use this instead?

    Depends on and probably not.

If the license for xp is OEM which is the only version, you can use to re - install (if you have retail, or Corp.), it will not work or be legal.

If she has a gain of 7 dvd it will have a 'key' for her play.  If this isn't the case, it does not.

  • Print screen does not work on my windows 7. Samsung laptop computer. Tried the fn, alt, cont + prt sc

Can't just 'print screen '. Have to go to paint, home, paste, save, name the file, select jpeg and then save again. Then go to the file and print it. On my old computer

I just clicked on print screen. Any help out there?

I'm not 100% clear what you mean - you say that you "click" print screen - where & in what program? Do you mean the print screen on your keyboard key?

Here's how the print screen button key keyboard should work...

The Print Screen key does not immediately print on the screen, as the name might make you think - it's a bit wrong to foreground. Instead, it copies the current image of the screen to your Clipboard. You can then paste this image into a program type photo editing (or similar) so that you can edit it or print it from there.

Another way of the foregoing is by pressing Alt + print screen on your keyboard - it's exactly the same as the above, but the image on the Clipboard is only the active window.

    Please see:

    and,

If the above does not answer your question please can you explain your problem more clearly so that we can help you.

  • Have 2 pc windows 7 (desktop and laptop computer) and I want to use the password on the home network.

I recently had to replace the hard drive in my desktop PC. After you have reinstalled, I set up the network to connect to my laptop. I created a password of the UAC on both computers.

I activated ptected password sharing on two PCs.

Now when I try to access the network on a pc, a dialog box asks me to enter the network password.  I walked into the UAC password erro and to get that connection is not valid.

If I disable password sharing each PC is visible to another on the network.

I prefer to use password protected sharing just as extra protection.

I must have a parameter simple activation/deactivation.  Can anyone help.

  • Adapter network on laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad U350, works do not since upgrading to Windows 7.

    Hello.
Am running windows 7 on a laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad U350, but experiencing problems with the network adapter. Wireless connection works, but I can not connect via the direct cable connection. All of the updates were made and in device, the network card Manager (Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter) seems to work fine, BUT still I can't connect. I downloaded the driver from the manuvacturer (Lenovo) and installed. He still does not!

Any ideas how to solve this problem? I am currently connected to the internet via a wireless connection, but need a wired connection.

    PLEASE HELP :)

Here's a solution - eventually had to resort to using the Ethernet coz I had to transfer massive amounts of data and using the WiFi was just a bad idea.

Agree with the above the drivers Lenovo doesn't have just a whole bunch of stuff (unzip, etc, etc) and curiously does not seem to go through the process to INSTALL anything... disappointment.

For those of you who know how to get to the old plant 'Disc' (Yes, they still exist in Win7), you can get your hands on the drivers here http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink_k57.php--est comes with the good old INF files to tell the system what and where to install

Go to disc (fuck..... another Google process [Bing since I'm on a MS Web site] the answer)...

    0 have the Admin rights
    1. open your browser.
    2. right click on computer / my computer > properties > Device Manager
    3. I hope that the offending devices (Ethernet in this case) shows prominently in the other category
4 click on it > properties
5 looking around for the the driver update button
6 browse my computer for training software
    7. just choose from devices... (blah blah)
    8 have Disk (tada!)
    9. then point just where you have unpacked the driver with the permission of Broadcomm files.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

    Kind regards
