Removal of text box character style

I have a CS3 document that has about 10 styles of characters - whose is Fig_ref. whenever I have to draw a text box, it automatically to the text with this style of character styles. I have to go to the menu drop down and select None. Is there a way to force the default value to "None"? Thank you.

With no text selected, go to the character styles and select None.

    Please check layers panel and put in place the menu item in the list, you can use the layers panel and move up or attempt to move the content.

    If there is still the same, then download a few screenshots of the design view.

  • With the help of FindChangeList.jsx - can't find text AND character style?

    I have been using the "FindChangeList.jsx" script in CS5 and it works well for what I need, except for one thing: ideally I want to pick up a piece of text with a certain style of applied character. Is it possible to do something like

    Text {findWhat: 'some text', appliedCharacterStyle: 'character style name'}

    I tried the above, but it is basically ignored the character style and found all of the text corresponding to the sentence (unknown what character style has been applied). Any ideas?

    Thank you very much. HJ

    Problem solved-, I made two mistakes. First of all, the style is a paragraph not one style style character, and secondly, it has been grouped into a folder. So I moved out of the folder and changed the code to ' appliedParagraphStyle: ' (and everything worked fine.:).

    Thank you. HJ

  • Generate list of a document text paragraph/character styles?

    Hello. Does anyone know how to generate a list from a text paragraph/character styles?

    Nothing at all? Use a script! This JavaScript does the trick:

    myFile = File.saveDialog("Store this data, where?", "Plain text:*.txt");
    if (myFile == null)
     exit(0);
    myFile = File(myFile.fsName);
    myFile.open("w");
    myFile.writeln ("Character styles");
    myFile.writeln ("================");
    for (a=1; a

    Copy, paste it into a text editor (the editor ESTK which accompanies your InDesign is good). Save it as "storeStyles.jsx" in your Script file. When recording in the right place, it appear automatically in the actions panel. Double-click it to run it.

    Both character and paragraph style tables start the counter to 0, but the first character style is always "[None]", and the first paragraph of the styles are always "[None]" and "[standard paragraph].

  • How to remove the text box enclosing white

    Hello

    I am a student in multimedia and need to create a portfolio manager and would like to know how to remove the white text box when writing text? Already, I have a background and would like to have white on bakground or plain black writing, don't want the white bounding box. How can I remove that?

    Thank you

    This depends really on what type of Member of text that you used, but in general, you should select the sprite on the stage, then go to the Sprite of the property inspector tab.  Find the ink setting and change into Transparent or Matt.

  • Remove the text box and maintaining editable text - Scripts/Plug-ins?

    I read a thread 2009 here about text running in inline text boxes. At that time there was no solution but copy and paste it.

    I wonder, is that has changed.

    Is there a work around easily turn in inline text text areas without losing the editability of the text? Those who are familiar with Flash know that we can do it here with a click. Any change that we have that in Illustrator CS5 some hidden hand?

    If this isn't the case, then someone knows of a plugin or script that would do this?

    Thank you!

  • / Text box link to another article in Indesign

    Hey guys,.

    I hope I can do so.

    I copy the text and/or text boxes in an Indesign document that has been put in place for printing (210 x 297) and paste it into a new document put in place for iPad (1024 x 768) to Adobe DPS.

    After pasting, I replace the missing fonts with versions of open Type.

    If I then close print document which I copied the text and then click a text box in the iPad-target document, print file will open immediately.

    Similarly, import of the article focus on the iPad in a folio will result in the original InDesign file is inaccessible during the import process.

    To remedy this, I have severed all ties to the styles, removed all paragraph and character styles, copied the text into a new text box in InDesign temporary document then copied the text in that targeted iPad... and always the same--opening of original print document has a third.

    Any help would be totally fantastic.

    See you soon.

    I had the same problem with some of my files. We understand that the problem may be caused by a left on hyperlinks or interactivity attached with this text. If you go to links and break everything that it should be corrected.

    If that does not try not select and copy only the text and paste it into the new InDesign document. Do not copy and paste the text box I have found causes more often this type of behavior.

  • Help! Outlook is cut my text box.

    I have problems with Outlook 2007/2010 cutting random text boxes in my e-mails. Screenshots below.

    I tried to copy the email, removing the text box and retype and even to take a screenshot of the text box and inserting an image into the email. He always gets cut in Outlook. The funny is that I had what happens earlier at a different point in the email. So I shortened the length of the email, thinking it was that a bug was the length of the newsletter. Now, this text box is fine and it is broken.

    This e-mail is created entirely using e-mail E10 Editor. Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Hello

    We had the same problem with one of our emails. This is what the support team advised:

    1.) outlook has a very bad way to treat a large number of div / table cells and structure

    Therefore, it is best to group as many objects into a textbox.

    2.) make sure that all positioning is 'positive' as negative requires a method more "flexible" management HTML that doesn't just have Outlook.

    I hope this helps!

  • InDesign crashes due to a text box

    Hello. I'm having a problem with InDesign. It happened yesterday on my iMac I was working in a single edition. I created a text box, paste the text, and this that while everything was fine. After some time, export to PDF, I noticed that the text box was empty, so I tried to paste the text again and indesign crashes suddenly closing. It happens even when I wanted to do something with the box (remove the text box, delete the page, change the background color, change the size, etc.). Today I came to the office using different iMac and I'm having the same problem. Can someone help me? Thank you very much

    Your file may be damaged without remedy, but try this: remove the corruption of minor exporting

  • Serious problem of closure with invisible text boxes cursed (CC)

    Total Hi,

    I have a serious problem with InDesign closing. I'm working on a nearly finished book who has texts and images. For this book, I also use InCopy. All the text boxes are assigned.

    When I worked on the book, I noticed three text boxes are missing. Because I didn't know when it happened and DIND'T want to get all the corrections I did by then, I decided to copy the text boxes missing from a backup I had. It worked, even the links with InCopy worked.

    InCopy has shown me that there are two links assigned to these boxes, so I just deleted one of the links to each of the three missions. Seemed so far until I updated the table of contents. I had two entries for these text boxes. I checked and on a spread seems to be dublicated areas of text that can only be seen when I "select all." They also appear on the layers panel. There I can select separately.

    The problem is that InDesign will stop when I try to move the spread or try to remove these text boxes. When I copy the spread, it gives me a perfect, even copy text. These areas of copied text can be edited and deleted. Remove the links concerned had no influence on the problem.

    Now, I deleted all content visible and any spread. My document now contains only the first single release and the second 'cursed', spread two-sided. There is no missions more. When I create a table of contents on the page first, alone, it shows me the three entries that should not be there. When I copy the spread he still 'perfect', as if there is nothing wrong with the spread. I have three areas of text with the text, I don't see in the spread of "cursed".

    Please help me! How can I get rid of these cursed text boxes? I use InDesign CC on a Windows 7 (64 bit) system.

    Thank you!

    Tami

    If the file is corrupted try to export it as IDML, to open and work with it.

    If that doesn't work, try opening IDML in an XML Editor (there are several similar BBedit which are able to read zip files) and try to find the damaged item and to fix it. Do it on a copy, because failure could destroy everything.

  • How to copy/paste the text box anchor to its anchor text and remove all checkpoints empty?

    Hi all

    I have a document of a few pages, but a story. The right column is the area of main text and on many places, anchored text boxes are placed which appears on the left column, as shown below.

    I want the text of each text box anchor to cut of his place and sticking to its point of insertion/anchor and remove all of the empty boxes of anchored.

    I'm trying since this morning but I was able to get the anchor object reference. Any help on how to start with will be useful.

    Marie rosine

    anchor_box.png

    OK, let's say you have a main text (not rooted) box and three text boxes that are anchored to the text it contains. One is anchored with text, the second is not anchored and the third argument is empty (I won't get into the anchor vs custom anchor line given that you mention in your message).

    Scroll us through the items on the page:

    function main(){
      var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
      var myPages = myDoc.pages.everyItem().getElements();
      for (var i = 0; i < myPages.length; i++){
      {
        var myPage = myPages[i];
        //Checks that the page is valid, and that it is not a master page. If either is true, skips to the next page.
        if (myPage.isValid == false) continue;
        if (myPage.parent instanceof MasterSpread) continue;
        var myItems = myPage.allPageItems;
        for (var j = 0; j < myItems.length; j++){
          //Current item.
          var myItem = myItems[j];
          //If myItem doesn't have a Character parent, it is not anchored.
          //The first and third text frames would fail this test.
          if (!(myItem.parent instanceof Character)) continue;
          //We only care about text frames.
          if (!(myItem instanceof TextFrame)) continue;
          //I think the only way this would happen would be if you had an image or
          //something else unexpected within the frame. I check for it so no content
          //is inadvertently lost.
          else if (myItem.texts.length > 1) continue;
          //If we're still in this iteration of the loop, all qualifications are met.
          //Flatten the text frame.
          //I don't use layers that often so, to me, flatten makes sense. You may want
          //to use a different term if there's a chance for confusion.
          flattenItem(myItem);
         }
       }
    }

    function flattenItem(funcItem)
    {
         //Hold onto the anchor character.
        var myParent = funcItem.parent;
         //Duplicate the text from within the frame so that it appears right after the anchor.
         //There may be other methods, but this works for me. I try to avoid copy/paste
         //so as not to deal with any clipboard mishaps. I added a check in case of empties.
         if (funcItem.texts.length > 0){funcItem.texts[0].duplicate(LocationOptions.AFTER, myParent.insertionPoints[0]);}
         //Replace the anchor character itself with a space (or whatever) which also
         //deletes the text frame it was anchoring.
        myParent.contents = " ";
    }

    I guess the takeaway is perhaps you aren't looking at the main text block and then check if anything it is anchored. You are watching each text block and find out if it is anchored. That's my approach, anyway.

  • Character styles more roll styles of hyperlink text

    It took me a while to understand this. I couldn't have my hyperlink styles to work. Just as an experiment, I've changed the text to none in the character style (I use it styles throughout the site) and my hyperlink styles work properly. I think maybe it would be useful to know that a lot of people seems to post about hyperlinks in text doesn't work does not correctly

    Thanks for posting this Marcy. This problem is a bug known, that our team of engineers is connected.

    To work around the problem, you can select hyperlinks in your text, and remove the applied character style (i.e., change the style of character 'None').

    Best regards

  • default or any text in a character style sheet

    Hello

    I'm trying to style text using paragraph and character style sheets, I built. When I create a new text box and import text from a Word file, all the text I have import default values to one of my character style sheets. Before importing the text, I have check the cursor inside the empty box and the paragraph style is standard paragraph and character style is 'none '. Yet, when I import text, it is always default to a specific character style I created.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Nick

    Check your paragraph styles to see that you do not use the nested styles or GREP styles except when you need it. You can have a nested style that does not turn off the coast.

    While your description indicates this isn't the problem, it is worth checking. There is a bug in InDesign, where it applies a default character imported text style. You set the default character style by selecting a character style while no text block is selected and that you not change any text. If there is a default character style, click None for the value None as the default character style.

  • How to enter special characters/symbols (i.e. the degree character) in the text boxes?

    Not a problem/w Firefox - I was wondering if there is a way to enter the special characters and characters (not on the keyboard) in the text boxes? I remember that there is a keyboard sequence that activates a context menu allowing the single character/symbol entry. Thanks in advance, Allan.
