  • How to cancel the removal of the password

I recently deleted a password of an account on a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, but now I didn't have.

I would like to refurbish or restore the password of previous such account, because I now see that creating a new password would be destructive of some of the data associated with this account.  (e.g. saved passwords, encrypted .efs files and information, etc. etc.).

Is there a quick and easy way to do this?  I imagine that there is a registry setting that determines or not a user must enter a password to log on to the computer.  I saw this in the Control Panel, but I guess that the real password file and the hash are intact.

    Additional information:
I disabled the system restore before you click the "Remove password" button on the behalf
The account in question has not been connected recently
I think I've changed the hash length used for password files or anything to that effect
In regular user accounts control panel interface, there is an option to "create a password" currently

    Thanks in advance

I would like the password what it was before I removed it.

Impossible! Windows does not store the passwords and Windows doesn't have a method to extract passwords from its file of password (for obvious reasons!).

I'll qualify the above: If the c:\Windows\System32\config\regback\SAM file is earlier than the removal of the password, then it * * might be possible to reverse the ill-considered action.

  • Satellite L300-1BW - BSOD and then the password at startup appeared

    Hello

I'm new hear that ive just got a laptop Toshiba L300 - 1bw Windows vista, intel celeron.

I changed the laptop on it gives the initial toshiba screen then goes to a blue screen and request a password.

I tried f8 when turning on pc ive tried f12 and f2 but not anywhere (say at startup screen press f2 or f12) getting to the bottom of the joy.

I called Toshiba with no joy.
It was bought for me for Christmas but my boss lost reception and Toshiba said I could send to China, but it cost me money or buy the recovery disk.

Of course, I don't want to pay these charges unless I need to.
So does anyone know a way round to re install or move to the password option.

    Any help would be great
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Nick

Please do not be angry on me, but the whole story is completely strange. I don't understand what you mean.
Best thing you can do is to contact the nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help. They can remove the BIOS password for you. Of course, you must pay for it.
If the laptop is bought legally it has no problem at all.

Sorry but there is nothing that you can do it alone.

  • Impossible to enter the password at startup

    Original title: STARTUP PROBLEM

Since the recent updates, Windows 8.1, I have to go through REBOOT whenever I start. I turn on the computer and start page appears, but the PASSWORD box is dead. I have to use the power button / stop to select RESTART and 5 minutes later EMI back to the start screen, this time, the PASSWORD box is active. Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Hi Hoearly,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

Rest assured that we would do our best to help you.

This problem may occur if any third-party application takes time to load at startup.

I suggest to follow the methods below and check if this solves the problem.

    Method 1

Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then download drivers software updated for this particular device.

    Method 2: Safe mode

I suggest to start the computer using safe mode and check if the problem occurs or not. At the start of the computer Mode safe with the minimum set of drivers and files.

Refer to section of boot mode safe.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

If the issue happen not in Mode without failure, perform a clean boot and check.

    Method 3: Clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Hope this will solve the problem, if not let us know with the updated status and we will be happy to help you further.

  • 15 Firefox asks the password at startup

Variants of this problem are found in closed discussions, but this problem is new to me and I used FF since Netscape folded. After update FF15, I get this on 3 different machines. When I open FF I am, before opening a page, invited to enter the password. If I click on a protected page password too fast, the box "enter the master password" appears twice and a half of the password goes in a box and the other half in the other. I find it very irritating. After the opening of FF, the only solution is to wait anything from 10 seconds to a minute for the box to appear.

Acting on a suggestion of a poster on the site of "La FAQ de Netscape", I went to create a new Firefox profile. There I was told first to reset Firefox. I did, and the problem seems to be resolved. I didn't have this control, which is clearly useful to be able to fall back on.

  • removal of the password expiration in windows 7 Home premium?

in google search the answer seems to be on command prompt run as administrator hit command net accounts maxpwage: unlimited, but the problem is that it does not say the command has run successfully, instead, I get a bunch of say syntax

    NET {accts/computer/continue/group files/help/helpmsg/local/group/break/and session

How can I fix this so I can finish the command successfully prevent my password expired. I know I can't fix through local user groups (not in windows 7 Home premium and not through the uac...)     I: have a step by step ordering process because I'm not a programmer and I am a user of intermediate consumption.  Thank you!!

    Redford:

You may have always given up this password expires the thing, but I followed your posts at the end and I wanted to let you know that I just got to work! I don't have to do anything really to my computer, I just worked in the command prompt. And that's simply because of the headaches that you've been through a couple of years.

If you, or anyone else for that matter, is need for all stages of simplified then voila:

I am under my user account with administrator privaleges. I am running Windows normally. Windows told me that my password is going to expire tomorrow.

    1) click Start menu

    2) command prompt type

    (3) right click on command prompt

    (4) select run as administrator

    (5) type the following text exactly net /maxpwage accounts: unlimited

(so if someone told you that by phone (so read aloud and it's logical) it would be net accounts [space bar] [space bar] oblique (the one with the question mark key) maxpwage colon unlimited, no space after the slash)

    6) press [Enter]

    (7) you will receive a notice that says that the command completed successfully.

I just thought that you, Redford, perhaps for another attempt after a couple of years. And, if I am incorrect, it is now listed on all together for someone else to use with the knowledge that he managed to fool the computer, me.

For anyone else reading this, not Redford, when you work with the command prompt, you must type it exactly. That's why #5, brackets, I typed out as one addressed to you, something someone used, the other on me and it worked. If you get something other than the result stated in #7 make sure you typed it exactly.

Good luck! Yet once again, it worked for me.

    Sincerely,

    LadyOfSimplicity

  • How to remove the password of BIOS on Satellite Pro A120?

I have a Satellite Pro with a system password, when I started, I asked Mr. password I was its power off for over a year now, because the number 9 key was stuck in position, so I couldn't even try to type a password.

Two days ago, I've corrected the keyboard. Now the system will just to the point where it asks for a password but I don't know anymore, I tried more than 40 passwords I've used in my past.

So I ve open. Removed the battery during the night. no use. I've read on this forum about the keydisk, parallel dongle. Don t have a parallel port, or floppy disk. I also read another post on this forum about a brand under the RAM that needs to be grounded and I found no such thing.

can someone help me please? There must be a jumper on the motherboard as well.

The system is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120

    Hi Rob

I know that you are so happy to pay for it. Friend of mine has paid 60 Euros for the removal of the BIOS password.
Anyway, please believe me you can not do anything alone. Sascha is right when he wrote about the different ways for the removal of the password and your model has the worst. I mean it can't be deleted so easy.

Your laptop uses a sort, I'll call him, code stimulus / response. Service must send a code specific to the seat and wait for the response code. If the code matches the code deleted challenge the BIOS password cvan.

Thus, there is no way to be removed from your own.

  • eliteBook 8570w: how to reset the password of BIOS in Elite < book8570w

I want to update the BIOS of my PC 8570w eliteBook but I don't remember the BIOS password required: How can I reset it?

    Hello

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

    Kind regards
