Remove accidental installation of a 2nd copy of Win7
Inadvertently, I installed a second copy of Win7 on my computer. I was not able to find a way to delete the second copy
Start on the first copy of Windows 7 (normally the the second entry in the start menu.)
Install EasyBCD:
http://NeoSmart.NET/DL.php?id=1
Make sure you use indeed the 1st copy that you have installed. Open "Disk management", the partition that you started now will be marked as Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, primary Partition of Windows 7). The other (second copy) will be marked only as "Primary Partition".
Now using disk management to format the partition where the second copy is installed.
Run EasyBCD and remove the entry for the second copy.

How to activate the 2nd copy of Lr download on laptop?
LR download works on desktop, but not on the laptop. Download the version of Lr5.7 (independent, no CC) B & H Photo active and works very well on the iMac. When the copy is opened on the MacBook Air, it acts as if it opens an expired CC version. Did stand trial on both computers before buying the permanent student version. Laptop now opens with message development is off and I need to renew my membership. I can't find a place to enter my serial number or access code.
You have the Lightroom license creative cloud installed on your Mac. It will be necessary to remove this installation. Then, you can download and install from this site:
Adobe - Lightroom: For Macintosh: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
It is the trial version of the stand-alone installation. But once you install and start the program there is an option on the screen of the trial to indicate that you have a serial number. Choose that option and you will be able to enter the number. Who is finished, you will be able to continue working. Your catalog and images will always be in place.

To the file copy stage of the registry would be game. It could be a permissions issue, you could mount the drive in a different Windows NT installation type and set the permissions.

new installation of XP pro on a Dell Inspiron mini
Xp pro installation went copied files Setup then restarts, rather than continue with an install it starts from the beginning again, laptop is configured to boot from the hd, but does not do that, I reset bios to default and hd settings has been reformatted, the cd for this laptop drive is usb because it has not built in 1... If I try and I remove the usb cd when reboots after copid setup files it told her there is no operating system...any help much appreciated...Hi, Leon,
Always include computer make and model, please. Thank you.
Research in the Bios (reboot and press F1 or F2 depending on your system, check that all usb options are enabled (for example, USB legacy or support for USB 2.0 devices).)
If there is a timeout parameter, set it to Max.
Then, find the boot device priority section
A USB flash drive, which is usually listed as USB - HDD, but may be listed as a removable device, will have a priority very low start.
Rearrange the boot device priority so that the flash drive has a higher priority than the hard drive.
Install Windows XP from USB key
Insert the USB key into the USB port on the computer.
Open the "I386" folder and find the file "Winnt.exe".
Double-click on the "Winnt.exe" to launch a command prompt BACK to an installation of Windows XP.
Type the path of the location of your "I386" folder in the DOS window. For example, if your USB is the letter "D" in your "My Computer" window, type "d:\i386" without the quotes and press the Enter"" key.
Let the installation program copy the Windows XP installation files on your computer.
Restart your computer to a command prompt. The Windows XP Setup will continue automatically.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. The program will ask you your Windows XP product key in this process.

Yesterday I uninstall a program, the Zynga toolbar and which has not, I lost a google toolbar. I then tried to perform a restore, and that's when I started getting the TrayApp message. Also, I tried to do a restore on my external hard drive device, and that did not help either. The date on the external hard drive was 18/02/2011.
The google toolbar is active it is not displayed any longer.

Repair of a Windows 7 OEM installation with a personal copy of Windows 7
Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron n5050 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). I ran a few tests anti-virus that has removed thousands of files, and now the laptop will not boot. The operating system goes to screen repair instead of a splash screen options. I ran all available service options, but neither solves the problem. Can I repair the installation clean copy of Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)?
If you try to use the Professional Windows 7 disc to make an upgrade of the repair, it will install Windows 7 professional.
Try to create an all in one disk or borrow a disc of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit can do an upgrade of the repair.
Windows 7 AIO DVD - all the editions of Windows 7 on a DVD
Or use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium. Don't forget, this will restore your computer to its original state. If you back up your files and prepare reinstall the programs.
New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.

How to remove a bad installation of my laptop recovery Partition Win7
I messed up by trying a "clean install" Win7 (on top of my Acer Vista laptop existing) by installation first on the laptop Acer recovery Partition and then try to correct the mistake by another facility on a data partition (in the hope that the installer would be smart enough to remove the previous installation - it was not!). I was perplexed because under Vista, installing Windows has always been on C:, and the Acer recovery Partition was on D:. When Win7 installer prompted me which drive to install on the first time, it offered me Acer C: and D: data, I place the reversal, so I just opted for C: and then found he had installed next to the Acer software, so somehow, disk partitions appear to have been involved.
The net result is now I have two installations of Win7 and a dual boot black screen that gives me the choice to start at startup.
Is there a way I can uninstall Win7 since the Recovery of Acer partition (preferably keeping the Acer software stored there, as I want to reinstall some of them later)?
I burn the software Acer on a DVD, and then format the recovery partition. You will have to boot from the Windows 7 DVD to format the partition, Windows can sometimes be a bit psychotic, but this isn't sucidal. You are unable to format a partition with an operating system installed on it. When you burned the DVD with the Acer software, start from the Win7 DVD, choose custom installation and once the two partitions are visible, choose delete the recovery partition, and then re-create. Once done and back in Win7, you can then copy the back Acer DVD software.
You will also need to change the boot loader, right-click on my computer, choose Properties. On the next screen, select advanced system settings, and then click the Advanced tab and startup and recovery. Remove the o/s is no longer needed.

Windows 8 start problem, due to an accidental installation of Windows XP on another partition
I had Windows 8 Pro on one partition and Windows XP SP3 on another partition for some time and I could choose which start. I decided to remove Win XP and format the partition on that Win XP has been installed. I tried to do it by using formatting option Win XP CD that appears before installation; However, I accidentally installed Win XP on the same partition. The problem is that my laptop is no longer recognizes Win 8 and begins on Win XP. I was wondering if by any chance I could collect Win 8?
Furthermore, the Win 8 partition is installed, is intact and healthy with all the files inside Windows. Also, I tried to update or reset the installation of Win 8 to help to win 8 DVD, however, it did not work; as a message appears saying that the drive is locked.
I thank very you much for your time.
Impatience on your part.
Amir
Hey Amir,
It seems that the boot loader is damaged. You need to install the earlier operating system first, and then install the latest operating system. If you do not have (for example, if you install Windows XP on a computer that is already running Windows 8), you can make your system unusable. This can happen because earlier versions of Windows do not recognize the startup files used in more recent versions of Windows and can overwrite them.
As you have reinstalled Windows XP on a computer running Windows 8, it has destroyed the boot loader.
Follow these steps.
We need to rebuild the Boot Configuration data (BCD). For this we need an installation of Windows 8 media. If you do not have an installation, you can create a.
