Remove all traces of Norton 360

I uninstalled Norton 360 but always stayed with Norton Safe Search. I am now using Kaspersky. I feel that they are not compatible. How can I remove Norton 360 Safe Search?

  • Remove all traces of IE8

    Hi all

I use a portal based on the web for my work, and the portal is only compatible with ie7. I deleted the ie8 update, and for all purposes useful, ie7 has been restored. Help / about Internet Explorer shows it as ie7.

However, the portal should I access always said that my browser is not compatible. Also, I've been to a few sites Web Browser Version Checker and they show that I am still using ie8. Of course, there is always some sort of indicator of residual ie8 that these sites are grateful. I saw this link - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/957700/en-us#diditfix2 - and there is reference to the removal of certain registry entries. I don't want to play with the registry if I can't as I have had disastrous results in the past!

Please someone has suggestions on how to completely reset the browser to ie7?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Kind regards

  • REMOVE STUBBORN PROGRAMS - REMOVE ALL TRACES OF PROGRAMS

    Hello

Sometimes I struggle to remove the programs in the usual way - Control Panel - programs installed, etc. Sometimes programs refuse to uninstall, and sometimes they ask for administrator rights (I am the only user and have account Admin.)

Is it safe to use an "aggressive" uninstall program - such as IObit Uninstaller - or the "deep cleaning" potentially cause problems.

    MS offers an alternative?

  • How can I remove all the info from WMP rocket?

    Hello

Recently, I synced my rocket to WMP and ripped CDs. But now when I plug my rocket in everything I see when browsing the content are the CD I ripped and not the music files that are also out there (who are not torn, just mp3 files). I went to the 'end sync partnership', a box came and I clicked 'yes '. But when I plug it again all I can see is the CD I ripped just once again. How can I remove all traces of my "rocket" from the computer? I'm out of ideas.

Thanks in advance, I hope you can help and that I explained myself properly

Hi, thanks for your response. Yes, I'm looking through windows Explorer. And the USB mode is automatically detect. I don't know what means MTP or MSC?

but you're right, I don't care if I could see all the files at once.

The problem is that when you use Auto detect mode the computer chooses what USB mode to connect to the computer. So, if your using WMP it uses MTP mode, but if your use drag and drop will use MSC mode, and when you connect to your computer you can see what has been added in the mode that you are connected to. So if you connect in MSC it is unclear to which has been added to PSG. If you want to add a lot of files with WMP, I'd say he bets on PSG here and let (you can use the drag and drop in PSG too).

To ensure that you can see everything that you can format your drive and then go to settings > system settings > USB Mode > PSG > press the Center button, and then reload the player.

  • How do you remove all THE Java code of Vista before a Java reinstall.

I have (Microsoft Security Essentials) has recently detected viruses in my tree of Java.  While I think that the problem was managed by MSE, I still want to remove completely all my machine Java code prior to a relocation of a pure set of Java.  It seems that Java would not provide you with a removal of Java (like MaAfee) do this, and the only code available tool is the standard Microsoft required uninstall code.  I want to remove all traces of Java code, and I don't usually use (do not trust) of 3rd party code that you find on the Internet, but if anyone has good experience with one of them, I would like to know.

Even if the uninstaller code seemed to work, I found a lot of leftover Java files and folders left behind.  For example, there is a Sun\Java\... tree located in the AppData\LocalLow directory.  I would like to know why this code was left and whether it is safe to just delete.  I don't like just big clear code because there may be a registry entry based on the code, which could cause another problem to me (even if the Java code is supposed to be uninstalled).

In the meantime, as an alternative, I renamed all Java directories that I can find.  Roughly the same and about as good what remove Java directories, isn't.

And finally, I have a Vista 64-bit system, so which implementation of Java should I download/use. When I uninstalled the Java code, there is an updated version of 32-bit (Version 6, 26 update in the list of programs), as well as an outdated version of 64-bit (Version 6, Update 13 instead of Version 6, update 26) in the list programs.  These work together.   I shouldn't have to download both, I have to, or I should.

And one last comment.  I've been running for a few days now without any Java installed on my machine and do not encounter problems or errors due to the absence of the code.  I know that many of the Applications that I use, use javascript, which I think is a little different that the standard Java code.  So what's the problem here.  Have I just not met a Java-application or is there more parts left Java in the machine I don't know or Windows excuting part of the said code.  I need to Java, I don't.

    roninrr

Yes, Java is bad enough to remove all its files when uninstall you it but things left to do no harm. You can remove them if you want.

There is no relationship between Java and Javascript, with the exception of confusion as well as the fact that both languages look a bit.

You can probably do without Java. Java has become one of the biggest goals for malware recently. I uninstalled Java of my computers a while back I found I was taking more time now know to use it. I was only access a Web site regularly used and find a substitute for it. I could leave uninstalled, and see if you hit what he really needs.

If you decide to reinstall, the 32-bit version is all you need unless you use Internet Explorer 64-bit (which you shouldn't).

  • Where can I find norton 360 removal tool?

Also, how can I repair the Windows Vista Ultimate x 64 operating system when it is already infected with a BUG, and you do not have the disc to reinstall the OS?  BTW, I bought the HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook HP Home & Office 3 years ago, and I wish it would come with a disc of BONE for situations of this kind.  I know, they say that the customer can make a system backup/restore disc, but after spending $2,500 for the laptop, I thought that HP or Microsoft it would with other software pre-installed.  Really? Do it now, Mr. gates.  Anyway, I don't know exactly what is the corruption, whether a horse of Trojan, worm, spyware, or malware, but my system is infected with malice.  I suspect thye nuisance comes from Windows Update from Microsoft.  This is the second time in 2 months that I had difficulties to install automated updates, important Microsoft recommends so that your computer will not acquire a virus, spyware, worm, or malware.  It comes in the form of a Korean media player.  Unfortunately, once I was able to install a 'little' updates, I happened to see, for the 2nd time, a Korean Messenger Center & a Korean Media Player Center was installed back on my computer. Everyone knows that Windows Media Player 11 is infamous for having a bad reputation which is one of the most corrupt that has Vista, and I believe that when you install the Windows Media Player update, is when your PC is compromised.  As I said I don't know what it is.  As far as I know, it might even by Rogueware, but according to, just like Microsoft would have happened on a patch or an update to fix this annoying I wish.  Not to mention, I had to spend over $ $350 to repair my PC 1st go round.  After the GEEKS have finished all the 'IT' they do, it was $362,37 to be exact, and he was gone for 8 days.  Anyway, back to the WMP 11 problem, at the very least leave, consumers install WMP 12.  With the software/programs as usual for an OS that WMP is, you would think that it would be available on XP & Vista.  But hell no, WMP 12 is only compatible with Windows 7 at the moment.  I am absolutely stunned and really disgusted Microsoft allows my computer to install malware on its pilots through its own update system somehow.  I hope I'm wrong on this problem completely, but it's just the way it looks right now.   I really don't want to continue buying the PC/Microsoft, but after this test, I might go with the Apple Mac (k)!  But if I'm right, and that Microsoft is it negligently, then the Microsoft, which is FAXED to the TOP!  You should be ashamed to call you an engineer!  WOW, WHEW, ok, I feel better now that I have that came down my chest.  Sorry folfks, but return to be in this forum.  Can someone help me to foinSo where I can find the Symantec/Norton 360 removal tool?  I plan on installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, SpyBots and MalwareBytes for a bit of extra protection for the software and the spyware malware trasj!  Wow, really, I feel better!  BTW, if anyone knows some tricks or tips to help with the issue of the update of Windows, I would be very grateful!

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

Microsoft does not record the OEM brand computers, HP, Acer, etc.

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/contact.html

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

With the machinery HP normally pressing F11 at startup to start the recovery process to factory settings

and here are all the Options of HP recovery including how to do the recovery disc, reinstall vista from the recovery Partition, etc.

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

  • Looks like Firefox has saved a huge field of incident reports that goes back a long time... Scan of Norton 360 takes about 30 minutes to scan through them... can I remove the

My windows7 home premium system seems to work well (I keep very current, the updates of windows every morning and installation of all the most important immediately) as well as java and adobe updates and of course, all firefoxupdates, automatically)

I have firefox occasional accidents--maybe two months or thereabouts - but few attended and they have never created any big problem I see.

HOWEVER, recently while watching closely and time a Norton 360 first Full scan system, I noticed that for more than 30 minutes, Norton 360 ran through Firefox and landfills error reports. It resembled a large number of report of Crash of Firefox with file system objects. As an accumulation of a lot must have been everyone since I bought the new PC 3 years ago! Is this normal? Can I clean out / erase all those? How can I do?

You can clear on crash reports if you wish, they are especially useful if you have a reproducible crash.

  • Norton 360 5.0.0.125 v: indicators of site security Web no longer work with Firefox 4.

Is there something I need to do to activate it or just Norton should catch up with Firefox 4?

Symantec needs update their Firefox Add-ons to make them compatible with Firefox 4. They indicated that, for Norton 360, they plan to release a update of Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early may - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web & docurl = 20100720113635EN & ln = en_US

I don't know about the time scale for the updates for other Norton products. Waiting for the update by Symantec, if you want to use Norton modules, you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.

Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.
