After downloading RealPlayer to view a particular item, I decided that I didn't want RealPlayer after all. 5 plugins associated with the download are listed in the Add-ons Manager and I managed to disable all the. But there is no apparent ease to remove them from my browser. Can they actually be deleted completely from my system?
You must activate the plugins on the tools > Modules > page of Plugins to make them appear on the topic: plugins page.

I use Firefox 10.0.2 on an iMac with OS X 10.6.8. I discovered this problem when deleting cookies from Yahoo in response to an announcement on the Yahoo site that was tapping into my position, even if I was not connected to Yahoo. All the other cookies for Yahoo, I was able to remove via Firefox preferences except for the above two. I would appreciate any information available as to what these cookies are for and how Yahoo could prevent me to delete.
Of course, the cookies.sqlite file has been altered as trying to delete all cookies from the Tools menu doesn't lead to a possible script error asking me if I wanted to leave the script running or not. I then deleted cookies.sqlite with the only other files cookie, that I could see, cookies.sqlite - shm and cookies.sqlite - wa.
After you exit and restart Firefox, Yahoo's two persistent cookies were gone. Thank you.

I removed the check mark to "Accept cookies from sites" in the Privacy tab, but when I restart Firefox the check mark is back! This problem started with version 3.6 and so I upgraded to version 5, but the problem remains. Any suggestions?

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.
'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:
- Firefox > Preferences > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
If the deletion of cookies did not help, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies has been corrupted.
- Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete the other files of cookies as cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

Delete Cookies from security?
I am trying to access my account online utility provider but it comes back with an error number and when I used the online support I was told that the "reference number indicates your security cookies should be removed. I said thanks and I'll try it, but then realized I don't really know what that means!

I was always able to delete cookies in Firefox. With the latest version, I don't see a delete button or move the slider to display a button Delete. How to delete cookies without a button actually remove visible?
How do you remove usually cookies? In the Firefox Cookies dialog box, there are two buttons at the bottom: all delete and delete the selection. If you're used to a button Delete, it could be that you used an add-on to delete cookies.
You can access the dialog box Cookies for the current site using the Page Info dialog box. Either:
- Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
- Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".
In the dialog that opens, the site current is automatically entered in the top search box, so you can delete cookies from the site individually. If you want to see all THE cookies, you can disable this dialog.
Does it work?
