remove hardware icon safely begins in taskbar each time computer is started.

It is said that the material can be now safely deleted (F drive mass storage device) even if no external device usb is connected

I hope it's the last word on this...

I, rather than shut down Unit (as usual to disconect it) tried "turn off the device" on the pop-up window. I just rebooted and the icon 'Remove hardware safely' did not appear this time!

Can be - cross your fingers - it's settled.

Thanks for the time and all, it was certainly a few days learning because of your starters... Thank you very much

  • Problem with the Flash Player and safely remove Hardware icon

I'm a casual pc user, so it's not very technical!

I bought a new computer from Dell Studio One desktop in July.  I use it once or twice a day in general.  When I use it, I usually insert a flash drive so that I can save my documents, etc.  I also use the safely remove hardware option before removing the flash.

Here's the problem: these days, the little 'remove hardware safely' remained in my taskbar with the green check mark on that.  When I click on it, it shows an option to safely remove drive F.  Until this problem, when I want to insert flash, Windows would label it drive F.  Now, all of a sudden, when I insert the flash, it becomes the G.  And I have this ghost f.

It's not a huge deal, I don't know, but I do not understand what has happened.  Furthermore, I use Vista, and when finally, I guessed my way, I found the Code 47 as the cause of the problem.  Of course, Code 47 indicates that I left something trendy, but obviously, I have not.

    Any help out there?

  • Date and time system continues to change each time the system starts.

I noticed that the time and date of my home PC gets changed every time the system is booted. The default date is set for Jan. 2008, when in fact it should be July 2014.

Also, my PC became slow death. I use Windows 7 on 1 GB of RAM, 250 GB PC. I used last my home PC 2 years back, but there has always been someone to use it.

It shows the OS disk to 7 GB of free, when in fact I never installed or anything unnecessary stored on the disk of BONE; Whatever unnecessary programs were there, I uninstalled them recently, keeping just a few essential ones. After uninstalling, it shows to 7 GB of free, when in fact it should be more than that.

I use Avast anti-virus, which I think is unnecessary, that its not to protect my PC and as other programs, too, is quite dead slow.

The system is infected by viruses? Manually, I checked the system for viruses and clean the system of all unnecessary and, program files, but I'm still not sure whether it is a virus or a PC problem.

I am a COMPUTER analyst, and's just done it 2 days that I use my PC at home. I could format my PC, or where applicable be buy Windows 8 with a new processor.

    Please advise.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Hello

You really need a minimum of at least 2GBs of RAM to run Windows 7 well enough.

As you have only 1 GB of RAM, which seems to be one of the reasons why it is slow.

Increase the physical RAM or try ReadyBoost:

Looks like you have some problems.

  • Windows Defender appears each time computer is turned on

Everytime I turn on my computer windows defender appears saying that it is turned off. Windows Defender, I opened and he was selected to be marketed. So I checked the box that said turn on windows Defender but whenever I have turn off the computer or restart it, it says that windows defender is stopped. Why this is happening and what can do?

    Hi Babyblues221,

From your description, it seems plausible that another program can be disable Windows Defender.  You use a different type of antivirus/security software?  These are often the causes of Windows Defender turned off.  You can try a "clean boot" to verify that it is or is not caused by another application.  To check this, reactivate Windows Defender, follow these steps:

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

    1. Click on launch , t
    2. Type msconfig in the box start looking for and then press ENTER.
    • If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    • On the the general tab, click on Selective startup.
    • Under Selective startup, turn it off box load startup items.
    • Click on the Services tab, select him hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click on Disable all.
    • Click on OK.
    • When you are prompted, click on restart.
    • After the computer starts, start the program or game and see if the problem is resolved.
If Windows Defender is on, there is another program that starts and stops this return.  You may need to try to reactivate each non-Microsoft service individually to find the app problem.
    • Some services may temporarily lose functionality when you perform a clean boot procedure. When you restore the settings, the functionality will be restored. However, the original error message or behavior may return.
    • Be aware that if the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from complete the clean boot procedure. You may need to contact the aid system administrator if you cannot perform a clean boot.

  • Yosemite sound out problematic, unless I run "sudo killall coreaudiod" each time after I start up.

I'm running OS X 10.10.5 on an end 2013 27 "iMac 3.5 GHz with 32 GB of RAM.

I have no idea what caused it, but start within the last week, OS X has problem when switching between audio output devices. Sometimes I use output built-in, and sometimes I use one of the two audio devices USB different. But even when I manually pass the output device, either from the right or in the preferences system-noise menu bar, it does not always correctly UNLESS I run the terminal command "sudo killall coreaudiod" after which it immediately works perfectly again... until my next reboot.

Yes, a fresh user account works FINE. It is only my user account that I used since I have this computer that has this problem. I know that I could create a fresh user and migrate files to the new user all my life, but I really don't want to do that, unless it is absolutely necessary. Something almost a year ago caused this problem, and the migration to a new user was the only solution. I don't want to do that again if possible to avoid for many reasons.

I want to do is ask - someone ' one know a way to solve this without having to always run "sudo killall coreaudiod" whenever I start?

I tried just about everything I can think of without success. I have:

-Fixed the permissions normally, while the boot without failure and during the recovery Partition boot

    -Reset the PRAM/NVRAM and SMC

    -trashed Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/Audio/com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist

    -trashed Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/Audio/com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist

    -trashed Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist

    -trashed Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemprefs.plist

    -trashed Macintosh HD/System/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod.plist

    -trashed MyUser/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist

    -trashed MyUser/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.InfoHelper.plist

There are probably other prefs that I've trashed, I don't remember right now.

Because a fresh user does not have the problem, I really feel like the problem MUST be somewhere in my user folder library. Perhaps a cache or a preference that I have not thought. I wonder if just a reinstall of the OS X Yosemite (while keeping my user intact and NOT completely clear) would help.

Can anyone help? I don't want to deal with the migration of my user and I don't want to have to run "sudio killall coreaudiod" whenever I start.

Thanks to all those who can help you.

I FIXED IT! And remember that this is how I fixed it last year, too. Apparently an update of my software Native Instruments, a couple of weeks ago secretly put NIHardwareAgent in my list of connection.

NIHardwareAgent out of my login items and restart completely solved the problem.

So happy. I hope this can help someone else that I couldn't find this answer anywhere online and of course could not remember how I fixed when this happened last year.

I just reinstalled Win7 X 64 business but found that the icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area when I plug a USB key or external HARD drive (they don't work either by the way, I can view files in them no problem), I tried the solution of workaround suggested in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1?page=1&tm=1299855382970#footer , but it does not resolve the issue, I don't see the USB stick or external HARD disk in the dialog 'remove hardware safely '.
