Remove obsolete

Hello
I write a rman script to remove an outdated backup.
When I run the Remove "obsolete" in the script
rman target / << EOF
delete obsolete;
EOF
The script fails because:

• remove obsolete don't kick in my scripts to backup... or did it?

Here is the shell script I use to back up our test database.

------
#! / bin/bash

ORA_USER = oracle

known - $ORA_USER - c "target rman / nocatalog" < < EOF
backup as a tag to compressed backupset incremental level 0 = "WEEKLY_FULL" database.
remove obsolete;
output
EXPRESSIONS OF FOLKLORE
output
------

It seems that "remove obsolete" part does not work. When I come to work and do
RMAN > obsolete report.
....
There is always something to delete.

Once a week we do INCREMENAL LEVEL 0 and every day INREMENTAL LEVEL 1. They are made at 02:00.

Sorry, that was a controlfile autobackup I wrong was a backupset archivelog.

You can include the archivelogs in the backups with the following:

backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 tag = "WEEKLY_FULL" database plus archivelog;

• Remove obsolete entries "icon" of those listed in "Customize icons in the Taskbar" (CP) or the show hidden icons "Customize..."(taskbar)? ' ""

On the Notifications tab & icons, is there a way to get rid of obsolete icons and programs that collect there? You can access to this through Control Panel or by clicking the link to customize after clicking the arrow display icons hidden in the taskbar. I tried a few CPU temp programs that they are listed still here monitoring. If they cannot be deleted, then any program that is to want a time display in the taskbar will be there forever and list will grow and grow!

Interesting. The download at this link is a .reg file that makes the following changes:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify]
'PastIconsStream ' = -.
"IconStreams" = -.

Fair enough, it removes the two values of a key.

What is interesting, is that these values contain binary data streams, apparently encrypted. Mine are more than 64 K bytes in size! Foreign to the notion of normal registry operations... So bad that same RegEdit is struggling with its small dialog to display all that data!

Who, in their minds at Microsoft's storage of large chunks of binary data in the registry like this?

Why is it not these data in a file instead? No one listened when all these millions of people are complaining about bloating and demanding of periodical Vista reinstall?

• remove obsolete entries from backup

Hello!

Under Microsoft Backup & restore, I have obsolete entries in the backup directory. The backup file that contains the original entry has been removed. How to remove the entry date in the stock of backup?

concerning

If you have a retail version of Windows 7, I believe you get two free calls. If you have an OEM version, you are supposed to get help from your manufacturer. MS provides a tax service.

Thanks for the comment that they should pay me. If they wanted to send me money, I'm sure that I wouldn't turn it down. I'm not holding my breath well. :-)

Good luck.

• How to remove obsolete device of PSE WIA list?

When the address IP of one of my scans changed (because of failure), two lists of the scanner now appear as separate devices with the same name in the list of PSE9 WIA - one of them with the old obsolete IP address. The same device is also listed with the new address and it works. How do I remove the WIA listing with the old IP address?

Only one entry per IP address for this HP printer/scanner appears in the list of printers in Windows 7. This list of WIA is therefore a remnant of the past. How can I get rid of him?

Problem solved!

I was able to remove the obsolete scanner by removing device drivers in the Manager of imaging devices.

Additional information: the scanner in question has been installed by using a specific IP address because it was not otherwise discoverable on the network at the time of installation due to a firewall issue. After a power failure, the router assigned a different IP address to this scanner, making the old IP unreachable.

HP support was nonexistent, but probably would not have been useful because it is one of these problems of interface between the security software and scanner installation software. Sigh...

Thanks to both of you who have offered their help... very appreciated.

• Remove obsolete updates from Microsoft? Safe to do?

When I open Add and remove programs, I noticed that I had scads of updates for windows XP in the list of programs. What will happen if I deleted the old updates and kept more current? Some of them are a few years old.

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.

• RMAN backup location must change and remove obsolete

Dear Experts,

I'm working on the following environment,

Operating system: Windows server 2012 R2

Oracle version: 11.2.0.1.0 release

Type of RMAN backup: Cumulative (preferred by the direction and I can't change it in differential backup)

My current situation,

I set up RMAN and H: drive for purposes of backup and G: for Archivelog.

Recently, my city was covered by the flood waters and the server works not for a week so that we delete obsolete level 0 does not work.

Currently there is not enough space to run a level 1 and level 0, while I should change the backup location.

My Question is,

(1) I need to change this location of drive H: to G: drive backup backup correctly without error not enough space.

(2) after having taken a level 1 and level 0, depending on my 1 redundancy, RMAN mechanism should delete obsolete backup disk without failure G: and H:.

Kindly help me how to get to my need. This will help me, thanks in advance

You can

1. replace the DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST G:

2 run backups

3. wait for the DELETE OBSOLETE delete obsolete backups of H:

and then

4. change the DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST return h as it was more early

In this way, you don't have to use the FORMAT or CHANNEL of CONFIGURE commands (I was referring to CONFIGURE CHANNEL, not ALLOCATE CHANNEL) to change the destination of the backup

• vRA7 - Remove obsolete machines / orphans of managed Machines

There was a problem with virtual machines in bulk imported, but I'm unable to remove them

I know there is a KB for vCAC / vRA 6 but I doubt that it will work for vRA

It is amazing how many versions, we have this problem (4-6) - and now 7 as well...

Are there troubleshooting procedures known to vRA 7 to remove these machines? It is not only aesthetic as machines do not place the booking.

I had the same problem with machines in bulk matter.

You can use the customer Cloud vRealize to clean up the orphaned machinery in vRA.

In the documentation on the page the customer Cloud vRealize or this direct link, unzip the documents, go to plugins > vramachines - api .html. It shows you how to force unsubscribe computers using the command 'vra machines forceunregister - name [ComputerName].

• RMAN: remove obsolete & sbt_tape backups?

Hey;

After several months of separation, I'm finally studying oracle backups. I try to get my database backups small test cleaned before trying again everywhere. I'm running into a bit of a snag, however:

RMAN > list backup;

Backup list
===============
S LV TY Device Type delay #Pieces compressed #Copies Tag key
------- -- -- - ----------- --------------- ------- ------- ---------- ---
5. A 10-AUG-09 SBT_TAPE 1 1 no TAG20090910T115704
6. A 10-AUG-09 SBT_TAPE 1 1 no TAG20090910T115730
13. A RECORD JULY 21 10 1 1 no TAG20100721T133933

I want these two to 10-sep-09 backups go away. How they got there is a mystery because it is a small box of linux on intel. Is not a tape drive and never did; but this isn't the issue.

I tried:

RMAN > delete backup tag = "TAG20090910T115730";

allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
channel ORA_DISK_1: sid = 139 devtype = DISK
allocated channel: ORA_DISK_2
channel ORA_DISK_2: sid = 129 devtype = DISK

but the backup is still there because it uses a disk instead of a band channel channel.

Can someone tell me how these two backups disappear?

Thanks for your tips/advice/suggestions

Doug O'Leary

Allocate a fake tape channel and try again your deletion:

RMAN> allocate channel for maintenance device type sbt
parms 'SBT_LIBRARY=oracle.disksbt, ENV=(BACKUP_DIR=/tmp)';
RMAN> delete obsolete;

I have a virtual machine that has several installed on OSCartdiges, he has also agents customized.

What would my topologies?

https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?ID=SOL64596

Your topologies will have the name of your agents customized them.

Create a support group Foglight, then open the instant diagnostic file. In the file will have a list of all topologies.

Search for the string "Effective Num" to locate the section where topologies are listed

Note: There are other ways to see all topologies as entering the Script Console and listing topologies
