  Unfortunately, you will find that it is "almost impossible" because of the effect of the wind on the microphone itself and the next amplifier.   More than likely if this started after you upgrade to Windows7 then you might have to update your hardware drivers.  Go to the websites of the manufacturers of hardware for your PC and get all the latest drivers for Windows 7 (video, sound, chipset, etc...).  If they don't have Windows 7 drivers you may have questions until they create them.  You can also try to boot your PC and also right click on the game .exe file and change the compatibility mode to Vista or XP.

  Windows 8.1 is better than 8 buggy, horrible but if I'm tired and want to go back to windows 7, where it does not crash and is just so much more stable.

  I have a HP Envy 700-230ea. It will not recognize a device to boot to other operating systems, so I can't wipe it off and replace it becomes prety frustrating so why I am here now.

  I also noticed that the bios is pretty much non-existent saddens me also!

  I spent £900 on a computer I should at least be able to put the operating system what ever I like about it.
