Remove Vista update files after installation

Hello
I'm new to Vista. I have Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I have all the updates that are installed for a while now and the system works properly. I want to remove the installation & uninstall files. In XP, files were located in the Windows folder and blue color for easy identification. I think I found the folder in Vista, it is, is the right folder C:\Windows\Servicing\Packages? Is it safe to delete all files in this folder the same as in XP. I know that I won't be able to uninstall the updates later.

Thanks for the help.

Malcolm

Malcolm, we can not defend deleting the files found in the Windows directory unless they are part of a process of solving problems, is there a reason to delete the content of your package store? If you are running low on space, you must use the cleanup utility disk (found in the start menu-> all programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> disk cleanup). Rami

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.

  • APEX 5 - problem with static files after Installation

    Hello

I've updated my development environment of APEX 4.2.6 to 5.0.0 with REST Data Services.

Whenever I enter the Administration Services login page or run my application, I get the following message:

There are problems with the configuration of static files in your environment. Please see the section "Configuration static file Support" in the Guide of the Installation Application Express.

In Administration Services everything looks and works very well, but in my application there is no static file from the workspace loaded (for example CSS-files, images,...). The links "broken" to these files are translated in this way:

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="lets/static-files-not-configured/files/static/v1Y/lets.css" type="text/css">

After some research, I discovered, that static files normally appear in my workspace in the Administration Services - I can access it and download it. BUT: When I compared the scheme with APEX_050000 APEX_040200 in the database, I discovered, that static files were not copied to the new instance (in the view APEX_WORKSPACE_FILES are just a few files...).

Does anyone have an idea what the reason would be so?

    Thank you

  • Removal of WAV files after you create AAC version in iTunes

I recently deleted about 5 GB of iTunes WAV files after their conversion to AAC files. I chose to "move to trash" and then empty the trash. When I rebooted my computer, there is about 5 GB of free storage added to my HD but not the Audio storage, which has not changed. I forgot to check the free space came as I thought it would be audio.

I tried manually deleted WAV files and they do not appear on my HD, only new AAC versions I created. I'm curious to know why the Audio storage did not change at all, even if the files are audio files and seem to have been properly removed from my HD. I wonder if they were not stored somewhere else and if so I want to make sure that they have been deleted. What worries me is that my iTunes library is 94 Go yet my Audio storage is 126 GB. I understand Garageband, etc. takes place, but the gap seems to be excessive. Please help/explain whether you have any ideas!

    Much appreciated!

You'd better ask about the way in which the information system is referred to in the forum system for your computer. If it were me, I'd be just glad if you removed 5 GB of files 5 GB have been released.  If you want more details, try a specific tool like OmniDiskSweeper: https://www.omnigroup.com/more/

  • Windows Media Player will not play the .mp4 files after installation IE10 - BEX error message

Hello! Recently, when I tried to read a file .mp4 on Windows Media Player, the player would immediately stop working and tell me that he could not play this type of file, even if the day before he could do so without any problem. I had an option to close the program or click to more information, so when I clicked for more information, he gave me this:
    Signature of the problem:

Back to a system restore point previous fixed the problem and I could again play the files in Media Player, but during the night that Windows updates installed and the morning I could not play these .mp4 files once more. So I restored to a point earlier, changed my updates so that they are is more automatic and by installing each day at a time, I finally isolated the problem in Internet Explorer 10. If I install that, just Windows Media Player will not play these files.
I tried a manual update of Internet Explorer 10, turn off all the options of toolbars shit and everything, thinking that when it automatically installs those who may be included, but that has not helped. Had to go back to my previous IE10 restore point. So no matter what, Internet Explorer 10 kills my ability to play .mp4 on Windows Media Player files.
I don't have toolbars running on IE9 at all.
I know that's obvious answer is 'do not install Internet Explorer 10' or if I do, download another player for .mp4 files. But the fact is, it shouldn't happen, it is indicative of something being wrong, and I would like TO be able to install Internet Explorer 10 AND use Windows Media Player to play these files. If someone else has had this problem, or know a way to fix it?
    Here are my system specs:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    Intel Core i5 - 3350P @ 3.10 GHz CPU
    ASRock H77M LGA 1155 motherboard
    8 GB DDR3 240 - Pin SD RAM
Diamond Radeon HD 7870PE52GV 7870 GHz video card
And all my programs are installed on this:
SAMSUNG series Pro 840 MZ-7PD256BW 2.5 "256GB SATA III MLC internal Solid State Drive
I'd appreciate any help you can provide! Thank you!!

It sounds like your question. I think you should uninstall this update and

I tried myself after experiencing the same problem and error code. I uninstalled the KB2670838 update, and then my Windows Media Player finally worked again. I also found that IE 10 must be uninstalled as well. Installation of IE 10 also automatically installs the update of KB2670838 platform. After uninstalling KB2670838, IE 10 automatically uninstall with it, better you hide two updates so that they do not install again. From the link in the previous post, I learned that the platform update is having problems of conflict with the AMD drivers. Good luck to you and hope this helps.

  • Flash Player missing files after installation

I followed the instructions posted here by eldnolb in response to Re: still of the problems.  Here's my situation. I have installed and uninstalled the player at least 8 times today.  After each installation, I think IE7 has ver10 plugin and work well, but the flash player is missing from the Program Files folder. Also when I use the control panel for adding and removing the flash player 10 software is listed, but the size of the file is missing, because the player folder and its files are missing have been created during installation.

Now my current status is I uninstalled the drive by using the uninstall program on my office. The player recommended by eldnolb Setup fails and returns the error message that it is not the latest version (given that I had previously installed the version on the adobe download site). What should I do now? Should I download the latest version on Adobe and run it from the desktop? I use windows xp home version.

It's normal.  Flash Player is not an executable as a stand-alone player, but a web Player / browser plugin, which consists only of a DLL or OCX file, respectively.

  • Windows 7 frozen on updates shortly after installation

Hello, I'm new to this forum, and Windows 7, please excuse my ignorance.  I just finished building a new computer today and I bought Windows 7 Home Premium from Newegg.  I ran all the tests that are appropriate from the bios and started from a LiveUSB of ubuntu so I know that work all parties.  When I installed Windows 7 it says I need update, 11 of them.  The thing was I didn't no card card or internet wireless to the computer and the motherboard does not have a wireless card built in, this confuses me because how he could know? (I guess that windows knows everything!)  I plugged in an Ethernet cable and connected to a modem.  After that I tried to install the updates, but he was slain on the 5 to 11 hours (5 OR 6) update now and I don't know what to do.  If anyone knows what to do please help!  In addition, just if any Microsoft Manager is reading this, I use Linux for years and move to Windows 7 and have problems on the first day is amazing because it's a product of $200.

What are the KB numbers for these updates? Have you tried to download them manually fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads , and then install them?

    Also try the following fix:

Fix with difficulty WU Utility http://bit.ly/a49XCo Windows updates

Regarding problems with Windows, its small compared to Linux. Only 2 weeks, I tried to install Ubuntu 10.04 on four different offices, failed on two, unrecognized two video card. My email will not download evolving and there are all kinds of problems and inconsistencies. 64-bit Windows 7 is running on all of these systems and I didn't have to install something or to go to Windows Update. Lets not even get into networking. I can't even access a shared directory of a Windows on Ubuntu system, its asking me to go to the command line, run #ifconfig etho and still do not show or give me access to my Windows System. On Windows 7, all I had to do was change my workgroup name and all my machines have shown, created a working group and was immediately share music, photos and streaming videos of different machines in different parts on my wireless network. I even installed Ubuntu in a virtual machine, and it still gives problems, because it's a particular configuration for Ubuntu. I installed Windows 7 in a VM and I got Aero Glass and everything works. I can't even turn on the effects in a VM and Windows 7 this is out of the box. Even installing VMWare tools in a Windows 7 vm is so much easier. In Ubuntu, I had to go to the Terminal, type sudo-s to join the root account, type in different orders just to install some added functionality.

Come, Linux is nowhere near usable compared to Windows, and the problems you are experiencing are simply of a small group of people pass through box configuration scenarios.
