removed the damaged but greatly reduced operating system the remaining disk space

My xp computer has constantly repeated before installation.  I added a new operating system and removed the damaged one, but my disk space is now lower than it was 17 GB. It seems that removed OS has not deleted from memory to disk.

How can I find to remove it?

When you add / install the new OS, you format the drive hard until you install?

  • Can start at Saint Martin of ISO but not install operating system ISO

I have many ISO files for installing OS geust, who have been tested and used several times on.

I have a new installation of vSphere with no local DVDROM 5.1, so I downloaded some ISO in the local data store.

The guest VMs can boot these ISO files, but OS installation fails with various errors of each different operating system.

Windows 7 installation fails because the drivers for the CD-ROM drive are not available.

I've rechecked files as well as their reuploaded to the store of data one or two times with the same results.

I mounted the ISO of Windows 7 file on my machine local and then used to connect to the client device for the ISO mounted and installation it works, after dismantling the ISO locally so I downloaded again and tried to install another VM of him with the same results.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

  • How can I remove an unwanted operating system to free up space on my HARD disk almost full

The drive is about 75 GB and has two partitions (C: and D readers :). There is a version of Vista on each partition.  My ultimate goal is to reformat the drive as one partition and reload the operating system, but I have found no way of formatting of disks, holding Vista. Help, please.

    Hello 771,

I don't understand why Windows Disk manager would not allow a partition deletion or reformatting. I use this option during all this time without any problem of "system folders" etc.

Take a look at these two links to my website and see if they help you:

    http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/format_partition_using_vista_dvd.htm

    http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/delete_a_partition_using_the_vista_dvd.htm

Otherwise, you should eb able to erase/format the partition by using a part of htird partitioning application as Paragon Hard Disk manager or something similar.

    Hello world.

I'm kind new to the ESXi.

When you use ESXi5, I am facing a problem with disk space.

As you can see in the image below, I posted 600Gigs for my guest OS (CentOS).

But I have found that the OS actually uses only 90Gigs as seen in the image below.

  • Removed the HARD disk with MBR/BCD who installed Vista x 64 Business on the new HARD drive

I have vista x 64 business installed on a HARD drive, but it was (and still is) installed on an older HDD aswell and the smallest, the result being that when I removed the old hard drive to put in another computer, I was unable to boot the copy of vista on the new HARD disk as the MBR or the BCD bit that allows me to choose what vista start is on the old HDD. Using the installation DVD I can get up the command prompt and run Bootrec.exe without the old HARD disk installed, which can find the vista installation, but fails to solve the problem. I'm not an expert so I can't properly use Bootrec.exe, and startup recovery also does not work, although it seems to say that something to do with the startup has been fixed. Is it possible that I can get the computer running without the old HDD without having to reinstall vista on the new hard drive? Currently, I put the old HARD return drive to start the new installation of vista.

When you move an old hard drive to a new computer, the installed operating system will find new hardware (motherboard, etc.).

A clean install is a normal requirement, as no drivers are installed for the new hardware on the operating system.
    Thus, it will not start.

How to do a clean install:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Remove the OS disk

    Dear all,

We plan to do these operations. Currently, we have two groups of disks for FRA:

-FRA - two members FRAVOL1 and FRAVOl2 drives

    -FRA1 - drives a FRAVOL3 Member

Disk groups "FRA" is a former flash recovery area volume which is corrupt - clerical errors. We have created the second disk group to move the flash recovery area to it. Now we want to remove the FRAVOL1 and the FRAVOL2 system (FRA disk group is dismantled and removed), but we have some doubts about this operation. The FRAVOL1 is the disk/dev/sdb, FRAVOL2 is the disk/dev/sdc and FRAVOL3 is the disk/dev/sdd. One wonders what will happen if we remove/dev/sdb and/dev/sdc (Oracle Enterprise Linux) OS disks? / Dev/SDS rest as/dev/SDS and more importantly if the DSO will always see this drive as a drive of ASM members and we will be able to start the database.

    Thanks for any help.

    Best regards

It seems that you have defined the ASM starts as EXTERNAL redundancy.

To eliminate the disks, you must properly DROP DISKGROUP start.  Make sure that the DiskGroup is longer in use!  Check that you have correctly reset db_recovery_file_dest

As or if/dev/SDS home/dev/sdd, Linux can relabel discs to reboot.  That's why asmlib is used to label privately within the DSO OR udev rules are used (my guess is that you need to update your udev rules, if you delete/dev/sdb and/dev/sdc)

  • Operating system on one disk of switching to another

I recently bought a new and faster HD and tried to reinstall Windows Vista on it since a recovery partition.  The options are very limited and to choose my new drive is certainly not one of them.  My computer did not come with dedicated disks, so is it possible is 1) burn a DVD to the Windows operating system or 2) specify a new drive for Windows Vista?  I'm a novice, but learn fast.  It's just that the software automatically installed at HP seems to take a lot of the options normal out of my hands so that the other information I found online does not apply.  Thank you.

    Hello.

Yes, you are right, we will not be able to perform the recovery on the new HDD through F11 (recovery Partition) to replace the operating system on the original HARD disk.

However, you can create Recovery CD Kit (operating system Windows + drivers for the hardware and pre-installed software HP) on your PC and use it to reinstall Windows on a new HARD drive after removing the old HDD.

    Here are the steps:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00882383

Remove the old PC Tower HDD, connect another in its place.

Perform a system recovery using the RCD Kit.

  • Can I return my computer to this original operating system with a disk. Was Windows 98, XP Home Edition

I bought a HP Pavilion6355 Top Desk of a former employee and it runs Windows XP Home Edition.

I found that these computers were originally under Windows 98.

My question: can I go back to the original operating system without disk.

Nothing I tried to perform a destructive restore worked, thinking that this is because the o/s has been upgraded.

    Need your help.

    Thanks in advance

Outside of why you would like to go back to Win 98, it's probably not possible without getting a CD.

You don't say how you attempted a "destructive recovery".  As far as I KNOW, performing a "destructive recovery" on the HP PC of this vintage required a set of recovery CDs HP.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07141&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen&lc=en&product=59328

As far as I know, HP no longer provides these CDs.

IIRC, the practice to have a hidden partition on the hard drive that could be used to restore a computer provided that "cost-of-the-factory" did not start up Windows XP.  Although there used to be such a partition, it is likely than anyone to install Windows XP removed as part of the upgrade process.

There is always the FleaBay, Amazonand similar sites.  Do not get a 'upgrade' version unless you have an old Win 95 CD lying around.

  • All Documents and files of Desktop/shortcuts will miss - restore but still - missing but the properties of the folder indicates the used disk space

I use Windows Vista Home Premium.  I am the only user and gave me administrative prvileges.

I was working on my computer when I decided to look at some of my data to the application.  I have come to C:\Users\MYPROFILE but don't see the AppData folder.  However, all my other files were there (office, Documents, etc.).  I have a click with the button right on my profile and click on the attributes Hidden and hit apply.  He took a few moments he went through all folders of files (you can tell by when it indicates the size).

After this happened, I tried to go back in C:\Users but my profile was gone.

I restarted and when the office came, all my desktop files had disappeared and the shortcut to IE.  When I click on my profile, it was empty with the exception of the default folders.  All default folders were empty of all my data.

I did a restore system a few days ago and my profile came, but it was always empty.  However, when I go to c:\users and right click on my profile and press properties, it shows size 11.5 GB as well as the creation date of February 17, 2009 (which is correct).  However all my data are still missing.  Any ideas?

Display your user folder by deleting a hidden file attribute can be set on the access property page when you right click on your user folder.  Let the net of new low for subfolders and files not hidden attribute when the option is available to you.

To see the hidden files and system under normal circumstances, go to control panel / Folder Options / view and uncheck both options so that they are visible.  This is not your main problem, however, you must remove the attribute hidden in your user folder.

  • How do I change or remove the password disk HARD on my Tecra A9

    Hi all

I looked for where I could, but didn't find any indication at all, so I'm asking here.

Maybe I should add that since the original installation of the PC it was years ago and I don't remember not the 'Administrator' password.

No, what you want to do is to point Lightroom on the new disk.

In Lightroom, right click on the top-level (Parent) of your photos on the old drive folder, select find missing files and then in the dialog box that appears, select the top-level (Parent) of the new disk folder. • Remove the node text spaces

    Hello

We are in the process to migrate our 10.2.0.4 db to 11.2.0.3 and discovered a problem with one of our requests - basically, extract us from the text of a node as a number and if this node consists of a space only, he is now back a 0 in 11.2.0.3 rather than the NULL value, it allows to return to 10.2.0.4 (and earlier versions).

Here are examples I've worked with:
    select extract(xmltype('<root><test> </test></root>'), '/root/test/text()').getnumberval() from dual;
    select extract(xmltype('<root><test>
    </test></root>'), '/root/test/text()').getnumberval() from dual;
I raised a SR with Oracle, due to the difference in the behavior of our 10 g database, but in the meantime, I need to work around this problem. If there's an orderly way to remove the whitespace node text? I would rather have to convert the xmltype to a clob to do a replacement, or the extraction of the node as text and then cut and replace and converted to a number, if possible.

    Hello

I can reproduce the 'new' behavior on 10.2.0.5 too:

    SQL> select * from v$version;

      3  from dual;

        RESULT

On 11.2.0.3, if you can invest time in refactoring, I would say that rather use you no deprecated features:
