Rename personal folders

My personnel file has been accidentally renamed - how to fix?

You should treat the account as a corrupted user account.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  To make the new account the old username (change current account to something different, if not yet the famous name).  Once this is done, your new need account have the correct name and all data and files and information.  You can delete the old renamed account and you're done.  Unfortunately, it is not really an easier way to do because of the links created between the username and the files.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • Cannot rename personal folders on external drive

I have an external drive WD Passport that I keep my personal files. After having a virus deleted, I find that I can not rename one of my files due to the read-only attribute being degraded.  I am running Windows XP Home Edition.  I tried to restart in Mode safe and by changing the attributes it - didn't work.  I tried to change the attributes by using the command prompt - did not work.  I need to get this shady read-only out of my files so they can be renamed.  Any ideas?

I'm sorry that apparently you won't believe me - or Microsoft.

Other things to try/test. I don't know if you have tried these things or not.

    1. are you able to rename the files/folders on a drive different from the system external hard? If not, then maybe some infection had damaged you Windows files. If this is the case, then you can try the (sfc/scannow) System File Checker or a repair installation, or do a clean installation of Windows. There is no way for me to know the exact state of your computer from here, or what would be best for you to do.

    2. can you rename the files/folders on the hard disc of origin if it is attached to another computer? If Yes, the problem points to your original operating system is damaged by the virus. If not, then the virus probably damaged files on the external hard drive. It is not uncommon, especially if you have been infected by a kind of ransomware. Again, I have no way of knowing that you have been infected.

    3. If you can rename the files/folders on a different hard disk, you can also try to move the data off the external problem, formatting and see if you can rename the files now.

And that's all I have. Good luck in your efforts. I have nothing else to add about this.

  • Update of the absent or invisible e-mails in personal folders from Sierra

My emails have disappeared from personal folders in Mail since macOS Sierra update from the previous version of El Capitan, indeed personal files themselves seem to be absent or invisible.

New e-mails that arrived later, for which I put rules in place to move the email to a subfolder in my personal files seem to re-create or reveal part of the hierarchy of folder necessary to reveal or recreate the destination magically subfolder AND reveal not only the new email but also all other emails which were previously contained in this file. However, enamel and her sisters in this subfolder are actually visible once I left and reopened the Mail App.

    Very weird.

Repaired permissions, restored from Time Machine - still do not work. Discovered yesterday that some of my mailbox folders were empty, some had old messages, but not recent. A vain another senior tech and reported it to the engineering team.

I have since discovered that the missing messages are there, but they are invisible in the boxes to the letters. When I do a keyword search, 'invisible' messages are returned in the search results (list as being in their appropriate folder), and I can read the full message of the search window. But if I open the file, it does not show.

Also, I read in the Inbox of messages disappear after I read the. Demented.

  • Personal folders not visible in Thunderbirds after the migration to the new computer

I moved my computer to a new Thunderbird profile (and edited profiles.ini to point to the saved profile. Now, in Thunderbird on the new machine, I have the records box receipt, feels Local, Trash, but file folders with my registered and categorized mail subfolders is not visible in the left panel. It seems to be intact in the Mail/Local folders/Personal Folders.sbd/Archives.sbd folder, simply not visible when I run Thunderbird.

What should I do to get these folders and their subfolders again.

Windows XP MS Office 2003, all installed service packs, xp Pack all. Processor AMD x 2 with motherboard Gigabyte.
Professional Outlook allows me to specify records personal on my e: drive, not in the Documents and settings folder, but continues to put the Imapi gmail Inbox there after that I told it to use the folder to the E: drive.  Pop3 e-mail accounts allow me to use the E; the player in the form of personal folders folder, but that one email can only be sent or received.  Is it possible to use all email accts a personal folder where I want instead of the default value. Where is the default definition that requires him to go into the Documents and Settings folder, and why should I have a personal file for each email account?

No, if you have an imap account configured, they must all be of pop email accounts, then you would have a unique set of default folders.

In your current configuration, you would have one set of personal folders (for pop mail) and a second set of Imap folders

  • NAS200 - cannot access personal folders of Windows

Live chat with Linksys re: NAS200: my side of it.

On a NAS200 I install a user called 'jon' with a personal file and a password. Problem is, I don't see how now to access folder Jon of Windows XP in the same way that I can access the public folder.

I get "\\Nas200_9792de\public disk" Windows and files read/write without problem, including several subdirectories, I created it there.

After you create a user, I guess I would then be able to access the file with something like \\Nas200_9792de\jon for example. I tried a drive letter of mapping, but get an error message

on "network folder is mapped currently...... try a different username. But

    nothing alse is currently mapped.

If I try"add a network place" I get "the folder you entered is not valid. Please choose another. "

I've updated the firmware to V3.4R75, but this made no difference

I searched throughout the "NAS200 User Guide.pdf" and he gives no explanation on how to access the personal folders of Windows.

I searched also Linksys FAQ but could not find a help there.

    Sincerely, Shaun.

  • Default personal folders

I changed the location of file to one of the personal folders by default 'music' so that it transferred to an external hard drive. its now not working and now I cant find it to restore its original Traghetti. Help muchly appreciated!

    Twinks

Changing the location of the default programs is not made as moving to any other folder.  Here is the procedure: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/11/25/move-or-change-vista-documents-pictures-music-videos-games-and-other-personal-folders-location/.  If you do it this way, it will not work.

As much as to be unable to find the moved folder, do a THOROUGH of all readers search (a) using the following procedure: to search the entire C: drive under Vista go to start / search and type in ' or '. As you type, you'll see two hyperlinks appear just above where you type and we'll search everywhere.  A click on it.  Who will do a fast indexed search and bring up a dialog box.  Click on advanced search.  Click the drop-down location and find the C: drive and click on it. Check the box "include not indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow).»  Then click on search.  You will now search your entire hard drive to the specified file.  And Yes, this isn't a very effective way to search the entire disk for a file but it is how it is done in Vista.  Then do the same for the external drive and the other disks you may have.

If you still can't find the folder, we will have to treat it as a lost file.

If you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky.  They have so-called saves shadow copies, which are deleted or modified files that can be recovered in case changes/deletions made by mistake.  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx more information about how to use this feature to: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=145.

If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, shadow copies is not available; However, there is an alternative that is free and the shadow copies feature called Shadow Explorer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/recover-files-with-shadow-copies-on-any-version-of-windows-vista/.  Although it will not help you this time, it could very well save you in case this happens again.

In case this does not work (not all files are available through shadow - it occurs periodically), here are some additional free recovery programs that might help:

The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace the data that you are trying to recover.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some or most or even all files - it's a matter of luck).

Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they generally offer no guarantees.  The decision is yours.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • How to create personal folders?

    Hello

I was wondering if UCM has all functionality out-of-the-box for the provision of personal folders for each connected user, and which is set in a way that no other users can search the content of a user sort documents (may not be available or browse-able).

If there is no STANDARD components, which is the standard guide line to achieve this functionality.

I am aware to use CRMI to create folders for each user and also, I know that I can guarantee the content using security accounts - but in this case, I will eventually create a dedicated user account of security to secure personal file.

    < edition-here >

I forgot to mention that I'm looking for a solution in the folders_g scenario.

    <>/.

    Thank you

    Vyas.

    Hi Vyas,

I think that Yes, the option is there, but need a few adjustments, either using a profile or a custom component. Logic will be:

1 set the dry group for the folder to an ACL enabled one - SpecialAuthGroups =

    2. set the ACL on the user name

Any folder that is created with UAL ACL defined for the user himself will be personal folders. So, you will need to create the logic where the user logs on first will run the file create service - COLLECTION_ADD - Services Contribution - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1) files and set the dCollectionName = , group s folder to and xClbraUserList = &(RWD). This will ensure that the created folder will be visible and editable by the user and any other users.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

  • SAFE TO RENAME/MOVE FOLDERS IN LIGHTROOM?

I recently had a few corrupted images (creation date has changed to 31/12/69) and when I spoke with applecare they told me that I got should not rename/move folders in lightroom itself, I should move them using the finder, then lightroom point to them after the fact. is this true? This seems to be an annoying extra step, but I don't want to take any chances. (although could be bc I've renamed the external drive itself, who knows).

I also move large files my internal drive my drives in lightroom because I like how it removes from inside (source) instead of just copying the most. is it safe or is there a better way?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Tai

Move files and folders of in Lightroom on THE SAME DISC seems to be ok.  Moving files and folders in Lightroom of ONE CAR to ANOTHER could be a problem.  He has had several discussions on lost files from it.  There seems to be a rare and obscure bug that Adobe says they have carefully studied, but can not find.  This has been the case for several versions.  I will move the files on the same drive but would use the technique of "move outside of lightroom/repeat" if I ever moved the files from one disk to another to avoid this bug.

  • Send an email to some non-visible personal folders {solution}

A search for this problem led me to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1002714 , but the solutions proposed in this thread do not work.

An update of XP (outlook express) to 8.1 Win.

On old machine imported Outlook Express with success in TB, moved profile new machine to win 8.1 where this problem occurs.

(Redirected the .ini file, but only discovered a) of many files, while showing, containing no e-mail, and b) some files have no subfolders. Check using Explorer directly in the profile shows that all e-mails are in their correct place.

The consistent factor is what folders that have any Japanese text in their names (TB is the English version) are those who do not show e-mail (or display all of the subfolders if they have). i.e. the folders display correct Japanese names, but they are empty. Any file written entirely in email fine English poster (also subfolders content display and fine).
E-mail written in Japanese display well in these cases an English name, so it seems to be just the names of files that cause this problem.

Moving files with Japanese characters in their 'Outlook Express Import' folder to subfolders of Inbox on TB on XP PC, then the new transfer profile has no effect.

I don't know if it's a question of 8.1 to win but it seems that more than a bug in TB?

First attempt at solution is to rename the Japanese records into English and see if it works. It will be tedious if anyone has other ideas, please advise.

    Thank you very much.

As I suspected, change folder names to English (or enter on a single byte ascii?) has solved that problem.

I'm marking as "solution" found as I always believe it's a bug any.
