Since getting my new laptop Toshiba in October, I had endless problems. It's going to be big, but I guess that relevant to the cause of the problem.

My first problem with him has come to uninstall McAfee. I was able to do a full restore (it was new so had nothing to lose but time) and got a tool to get rid of everything that McAfee.

All very well for a while, using AVG free antivirus. It was December before when AVG does an update that causes Windows 7 crash, usually when you sign off the coast. I was not using the machine a lot like Christmas and it seemed to work ok if I turned off, went in safe mode, normally closed then loaded windows normally. At this point, I knew not that the problem was of moy. But due to start working again, I needed to make it work properly, so I spent some time searching online (on my PC) and discovered the problem of the AVG. He had a so bad I could do nothing even in safe mode. By clicking on any AVG associated icon or file crashed the entire system. I found a fix to keep AVG running by renaming a couple of exe.bak of exe files. It worked and the computer was working normally, but I had to get removed AVG that proved impossible because I still couldn't get everything what key of AVG to do anything at all.

I installed a free trial of an uninstall program, RevoUninstaller. It took most of the day, but finally it has deleted everything. One of the steps is to run the uninstall program of the selected program where he stopped for hours and the next step in the list of all the remaining files showed thousands of hundreds of other files and registry files, so I guess that the uninstall program does not work at all and revo removed all.

The next day, the computer went well. I installed avast and everything was going well with one exception - the product preinstalled toshiba update program.

The day after BSOD. I tried startup repair, you have 20 minutes to a black screen with a blinking cursor, possibly a pointer of big white mouse and nothing else. Tried safe mode, when it is run through the list of files, just to stop for a while and had no further. Dug my disk to repair windows 7, put that in, start from it, has had the same problem with the Startup Repair tool, empty large needle on a black screen.

So what do I do next? I have the windows XP restore disk came with the laptop. I try to boot from that? If I have TO I could still do an another factory restore but I have some files on there and I'm pretty p off would be constantly having to bother with this machine.

It was suggested to me on another forum that the problem could be with the machine, such as Windows 7 should not have these problems with the antivirus. It is still under warranty.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello

Yes, you can use the Windows XP disk to install Windows XP on your laptop, but then Windows 7 is removed and t, you can use it, you can expect you reinstall Windows 7.

Did you create the Toshiba recovery disc to install Windows 7? Using this disk, you can restore Windows 7 to factory settings. This means disk HARD will be deleted and with all the tools and pre-installed Windows 7 driver will be installed automatically.
Just check your manual for more information.

But the problem is if Windows doesn't boot you are not able to create this disc
You can use the recovery disk as described here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

If not and you want to return factory settings you can order a new disc of Windows 7 here:

The best way to solve this maybe just create a new user account, transfer your personal data to this account, and then delete the old account. Make sure that you perform the system restore after you did the new account and everything works fine. To purge the system restore, simply disable it then again. Be aware that the creation of a new user account is not the means to get rid of malware. But it is perhaps the best way to get rid of some of the after effects. However, I recommend you scan with Malwarebytes before running these instructions. After scanning you may not create the new account.

In addition, Jose is correct. Good number of new forms of malware prevent the start in safe mode. Trying to force booting in SafeMode with msconfig, you end up with a boot loop.

  • Repair Windows installation will not continue beyond the mark of 26 min during fill the stage of installation

Hi there all your PC gurus

PC fails to complete a repair of Windows XP installation. It does not go beyond the mark of 26 min during the installation phase ends. You can still move the mouse around, however installation is not continue beyond this point.

PC is a Dell Vostro 1510, it is only a couple of years.

    Can someone please?

The initial problem was that the PC did not go beyond the page of Windows to start upward. So I had to do an installation of the Dell windows XP disk repair. But I couldn't boot from the CD, (even after changing in the system BIOS boot order) to work around this problem, so I had to disable the boot on the other upward options being - HDD, USB etc. so only if it start from the disc.

After completing the first part of the repair facility, the PC restarted to complete the second part of the installation, however I got an error message "the Kernel32.dll file is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

After some research, I solved this problem by using the windows recovery console to extract a new copy of the kernel32.dll from the windows XP disc. It seemed to work. The second part of the window repair facility restarted successfully, but now the problem is it will not complete installation, it gets stuck/not will not go beyond the 26 minute mark during the phase of "complete installation."

It has been full of hiccups. I'm not a person of computer tech at all, but have managed to get so far at this stage.  Can someone please please help, very much appreciated.
    Thanks :)

repair Windows XP file system, lost files, and the sound card does not even if the drivers are installed. Themes are absent and some programs don't is not loading, connection WI - FI will not charge. System Restore does not work.

    tonythesiskolee,
I would like to get some clarification.  When you say 'repair Windows XP' what talking you?  Did you run the System File Checker or that you are trying to make a repair to a XP disk installation?  You get an error when you try to run the system restore?

There are two ways to restore your system.  If you have set up and run a backup utility, it would be the best way to restore.  Or you can reinstall XP.  This article covers the different installation options available.  Or if you have an OEM drive or restore partition, you can then follow the instructions to do a factory restore. • Repair Windows Vista Home Basic

My laptop cannot install Windows updates and recommended corrections have failed. The final recommendation is to repair Windows Vista. However, the version of Vista on the disc of the operating system provided by Dell has only the possibility of a complete reinstallation. I had already made the mistake of thinking that I can do a repair and ended up with a complete re - install which of course erased everything on my drive. Anyone know how I can repair Vista when that option not on the disc?

    Hello

You will need to borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD from a friend to do a repair upgrade installation.

Recovery discs are generally not those 'repair' options on them.

    Hi leonardhurley,

Since when are you facing this problem?

You did changes before this problem occurs?

What is the exact blue screen error message you received?

    Method 1

I suggest that you perform the last good known Configuration

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/using-last-known-good-configuration

Method 2: disable automatic reboot in order to collect the Blue error screen, so in case the blue screen just flashes and dries on.

    Method 3:

I suggest you to follow the article below for the Blue error screen.

  • Start loop repair, Windows 7, RebuildBcd said that no Windows installs?

Windows 7 - ASUS G50 Vt - X 1 - after an uninstall of big, Windows will not go beyond the start screen. Given the possibility of using the Startup Repair, the console tells me that it cannot solve all the problems. Windows asks me if I want to use SuReP Console, it starts everything straight through. After using my installation disk to use other tools to repair, the function RebuildBcd tells me that there is no installation of Windows. I need this computer to work. WHAT I DO?

    Hello

    Start with a Windows disk.

At the command prompt (press on enter after each)

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

    Bootrec /scanos

    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

Very often, after the foregoing (and similar methods of bottom) you need to run
Repair system TWICE - then run beboot towards the Windows disc and run again.

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

It is a serious mistake and "may" not be fixable without a professional technical support
a real computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other BigBox stores) or your

This is the troubleshooting methods to try to resolve the problem:
