Replace a B key on my keyboard

The B button seemed to have debris under it (crumbs of cake?). I he took off and now can't turn back. What's the trick?

Did you remove key PAC only or dismantled small plastic mechanism too?

  • R850-169 - key on the keyboard to replace satellite

Hi, I dropped my iphone on my laptop (of less than 30cm, I might add) and in some way he hit the right CTRL key and the key on the keyboard is popped! a whole little plastic broke from under the key (the mount under the white key is fine, just the black key is damaged)

I was basically wondering. Is there anywhere you can get replacement keys for this laptop?

Theoretically, you can try to find the defective keyboard, remove the button even CAP and set up on your laptop keyboard.
To be honest I don t think you can buy these caps key as unique pieces.

Check ebay. Maybe you can find defective or used the keyboard for a few euros.

  • Replacement of "scissors" Satellite Pro 6000 keyboard keys

    Hello!

Please, is it the instructions available for replacement keys on 6000 SP?

I have the Windows key, on the top line of the 2nd from the right button, totally broken/lost, even the "scissors"...

I have another keyboard with a fine touch Windows and got the hood detach easily, but scissors, is a hard nut, I was several times was trying to find a way to loosen it, but so far do not succeed at this, except maybe somehow break it and to do so unusable...

Is there a way to loosen and had then re-installed on another keyboard?

Scissors other larger keys seems to be easier to loosen, but scissors these small upper row keys do not...

    Hello Pete

Sorry, but I must ask you something: just damaged plastic or there is no key functionality at all?

To remove the plastic is very simply. Just the move from bottom to top. The new plastic cover should be just properly placed and pushed down. All that s.

The principle for all keys of the keyboard is the same. I really don't understand what is the problem in your case. Two keyboards are exactly the same (for the same model of laptop)?

Replace old hard drive with an SSD.  Now some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working.  Ex 'e' and 'b' keys no longer work?  Any idea what could take place in the disc replacement?

Probably nothing, it's probably a fluke. Try resetting the SMC and the PRAM by iMac Intel SCM and reset the PRAM. If this does not work, try a USB keyboard to test, if it works then your original keyboard has failed and must be replaced.

  • Satellite A300-15J - keys on the keyboard

    Hello

I got my laptop about a week now. I liked it carefully, the brilliant keyboard did irritate me at first, but... But to my surprise... this morning the left low corner command button was loose... it seems that one of the "connectors" broke up.

Of course, I know what to say, I broke it, and it's probably true, because I type on my computer and so to put pressure on it... BUT, I have a respect for computers, I don't hit my computer and I have typing skills...

I called a local computer company and they said that I need to replace the entire keyboard... because Toshiba will probably not fix it under warranty because they will say I did damage... I had a toshiba A100 for 2 years, the keyboard still works fine...

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions or comments on this topic?

    Thank you very much.

Well... sad story, but the fact is that the key on the keyboard is broken and the keyboard needs to be replaced.
I don't know why it broke... maybe you used really too much pressure while typing... who knows. ?:|

I have two Toshiba laptops different... one is 5 years old and the other is about 2 years old and I never noticed any problem keyboard or buttons...

So in my opinion, you had a bad luck... that's all.

Good luck with your keyboard replacement...

  • Replace the unique key on Satellite L500-128

    Hi all

Today, I removed the key from my computer toshiba laptop +. When I tried to replace it, I saw that the clip under the key has been broken. So now, I want to know if I can buy the clip so I can connect my key with the keyboard again. I don't want to buy a new keyboard. It's a waste of money, because the rest of the keyboard is in a very good state. I'm from the Netherlands.

    With sincere friendships.

    Hello

Maybe it's hard to hear but I think that Akuma is good and you can t replace individual keys only. Only a full keyboard is available and can be ordered and no Exchange, no unique key. The authorized service provider in my country told me that the information

So I think you need to order a set of keyboard of an authorized service provider.
But don t worry not about this. Keyboards are not so expensive. ;)

  • Satellite S2410-504: keys of the keyboard have fallen

    Hello

I recently encountered a problem where 2 of the keys on my keyboard have fallen and were irreparable and so I find myself with 2 keys "spongey" who are still working fine, but are obviously without key.

I was told that I can buy a replacement online keyboard (E - Bay, ideally), but I have no idea what model specific n ° I'm looking. Can someone help with the correct details and also as a guide what price I have to pay. And further suggestions other than E - Bay for its source.

    Thanks for your help

If the key is broken and the keys do not remain in place, so in my opinion, so there is no other solution apart from the replacement of keyboard.
Of course, it of possible to order the keyboard online.
On the Toshiba page, you will find a site Options and accessories:
    HTTP://EU.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/JSP/OPTIONSANDACCESSORIESHOME.DO?SERVICE=EU&ID=ONLINE _ SHOP

Here I found only the Satellite S2410-S403 but I guess that there is not much difference between these units.
Under options based on the desktop, you will find keyboards supported.

On this path, I also want to say that all the pieces that are supported and compatible, you can order from the Toshiba service partner in your country

  • Re: How to fix the keys on the keyboard on Satellite L40?

    Hello

I wonder if you can help me... my friends cat sitting on my keyboard, the key 'b' stuck and fell. I have a series of Satellite L40. I have the blue and black hinge and press 'b '. I need my laptop for different assignments. Please help me! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

It's that you can't fix a unique key. We can then remove the CAP and can visit his profile at the small plastic mechanism but I don t know if you can fix it.

In general, when there is a problem with the nonworking keys the whole keyboard must be replaced.

  • Satellite P205 - hit ANY key on the keyboard opens the default browser

Very strange problem with our Toshiba Satellite P205.
Hit ANY key on the keyboard opens the default browser. For example, type a ten letter word ten browser windows opens. We have replaced the keyboard but the problem persists. Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).

Works very well without any problem using an external keyboard.
It came with Vista, but we installed XP with the same results. Also tried upgrading the Bios.

    * Water was spilled on this computer laptop previously.*
    * It is out of EMCO.*

Is there maybe a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
Anyone has any ideas on this one?

There is a 'hard' switch just above the keyboard that opens the browser. I guess the connectors or printed circuits are corroded or damaged somehow so that any input on the keyboard also triggers this hard switch.

Possibly a hack software to disable or block the button "Open browser" would solve the problem. How to turn off or reassign these hard buttons?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    > Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).
Looks like you need to replace the motherboard if you do not want to use the computer's internal keyboard correctly
You said that the water was reversed on this laptop previously, I think that's the reason why this keyboard problem happened

    > Is it may be a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
It s unclear not for me if something like this is not possible, but in my opinion has nothing to do with the software (register), but with the hardware problem caused by spilled water
You could try to reinstall the clean Windows operating system in order to check if this will help you
But if the new facility doesn't help then you should use the external keyboard because I doubt a replacement of the motherboard would be an option due to high costs.

  • Satellite L735 - some keys on the keyboard do not work

  • My Acer Aspire V - 123 Windows 8 keeps freezing and some keys on the keyboard are not working

I'm currently using a netbook ACER ASPIRE V - 123 with Windows 8 as its operating system and it is not yet updated to 8.1.

At first when my computer laptop while boots 'seems' to agree, and whenever I try to open a file without any content it took me about 30-45 seconds, opening a program would take me almost 45 seconds to a minute, and I think that something is not right with my laptop and when I try to open a website via my web browser and my laptop would just FREEZE and I can't do anything about it , but I hate to do HARD reset. And to add to this unfortunate scenario is that some of the keys on my keyboard are not working the letters like R, T, I, O and backspace and many others (which I don't remember exactly one by one).

I try to read some forums on different sites and some posts to the community of MS and did several tests like starting in SAFE MODE w / NETWORKING and downloaded the software like MALWAREBYTES to find potential infections, but nothing found. I also did the start-up in MINIMAL MODE, but again, the situation was the same, but when I'm the boot without failure the filling and freezing are only decrease and I don't want always starts in mode safe.

From now my laptop is booting in a start-up in MINIMAL MODE and I don't know what to do next, what to try next. I hope someone could lead me to the solution to this problem, I would be eternally GRATEFUL.

Please do help me in a step by step process and if possible please guide me with pictures or screenshots because I prefer to learn things when I Visual effects on what to do.

Thanks for patiently reading this post.
