Replace the NIC card

Is it possible to replace the card Realtek RTL8111E NIC in a PC Touchsmart 520-1000z?

A Realtek diagnostic program showed the following:

Status of the link - disconnected

On a test, loopback MAC, PHY loopback, IRQ, FIFO all failed.  Wake up LAN, enter the IP address, nothing happens.

I guess that the card is dead.

It does not appear on the Device Manager.

Unable to install the drivers.

Thank you

Hello Hotbowler,

I understand your Realtek NIC does not work any longer and you are curious as to whether or not you can replace. Unfortunately, your NETWORK card is integrated and therefore integrated into the motherboard. This would make it impossible to replace without replacing the motherboard together. I got this information from the HP TouchSmart 520 - 1000z product specifications and configurable Options page. It is a replaceable parts in your HP TouchSmart 520-1000 x, unfortunately the NETWORK card is not one of them.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

From your description of the error, this really sounds like a malfunction of the GPU (graphics processing unit).
Unfortunately, it is a serious offense and if a replacement of material you will not be able to fix this :(

It is a case value because you can not only replace the graphics card. You need to replace the whole motherboard because the GPU is soldered on the Board and cannot be removed easily.

There is nothing to my buddy.
Seems that you need to contact a support technician.

    Hi samuniv,

As you can read in 100 other threads, it of not possible to replace the graphics card because it s fixed/soldered to the motherboard. Therefore, an Exchange is not possible.

No, it is not possible given that the graphics chips more are part of the motherboard.
In some cases, it of possible to remove the graphics chip on the motherboard, but in this case that it must always use the same GPU for this motherboard.

  • Is satellite A200 - possible to replace the grapchics card?

    Hello!

I've had my Toshiba A200 - 1 M 8 for two years now and everything was going well until one day, while working on this subject, it is just went down. The arrested LEDs had any, even when not connected to the power supply and the laptop wouldn't start. I checked the habit - power cable bad, trying to see if the leds are gone or the laptop start with and without the battery in. Then I checked if all the cables are connected to the mother board the right way - they were. Know a little of material and to be a student of applied computer science, I thought that the problem was probably with the motherboard or something related to it.

So, an I unplugged devices connected to the motherboard to see if this allows the flow of power through the Commission. Long story short, it turned out that when I disconnected the graphics card (radeon HD2600 256 MB) the LEDs showed once again, and of course, the laptop started, but only a sound signal once or twice, which is normal when there are essential, as the map, missing. After a further inspection, I found that two blocks of memory on the card have burned completely, which explains why it did not work.

So now, here's my question: 1. is it possible to buy a replacement directly from Toshiba? If not, how can I specify what I seek, when searching through stores online and how can I check if it would be compatible with my laptop? 2. If it is possible to replace the card, it would be possible to replace with a better model (like hd3470), this means that my laptop would be able to manage the best card and is it still possible to find a better card, mounting my laptop (physically, I mean, it's pretty tight in there: P)?

Thanks for any helpful answer in advance, if more information is needed to answer my questions, I would be happy to provide it.

    Hello

    (1) an authorized service provider can replace the VGA card to you, directly from Toshiba. There is a list of the ASP on the Toshiba site, in the support section.

    (2) Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the VGA card in most laptops because there is no common standard model, the BIOS is coded to work with a specific VGA card and the cooling system is designed for the dissipation of the heat of this VGA card.

  • Replace the video card on Pavilion m9450f - what "s the orphan?

It probably doesn't matter, except that it is driving me crazy.  I just replaced the graphics card on a m9450f.  The original was a GeForce NVidia 9800 GT with 512 MB of memory, I do not know the manufacturer.  The other, a PNY NVidia Geforce GTX 550Ti jumped to the (yay for empty arrays!) and seems to work very well.

Here's the thing.  The old card, in addition to the connection of normal PIN on the bottom and the normal power at the end of the map, a connection two sons near the front of the card on the side not pinned. A twisted pair red and black fell from there on the edge of the motherboard.  I'm unable to find information on what connection did and why he didn't need to do this on the map again, more powerful. I feel that my IKEA futon will collapse because of the surplus allen screw when I finished editing.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

The two sons who came from the card would the SPDIF header on the edge of the motherboard.  This allows the motherboard route audio digital HDMI video cards that do not accept no digital audio via the PCI-E slot.

  • HP pavilion e073ed 17: you can replace the graphics card for hp pavilion 17e073ed

I have a HP pavilion 17e073 ed and I want to replace with a better graphics card. The problem is that I can't find anywhere if I can replace the graphics card. I want to replace it for the best benefits of games. I already bought an SSD and some more RAM.

    Hello:

There is no graphics removable, replaceable and upgradable 'cards' in your laptop.

The graphics quite part of the motherboard, and to improve the graphics, you would have to see if there is a motherboard listed in the guide service and maintenance for your laptop that has better graphics.

Replace the motherboard would be a labor intensive and expensive project.

  • Replace the video card and audio lost

    I have a HP m7350n desktop under WinXP SP2

    The plug: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00585745

I replaced the video card (original) with a Gigabyte GT 440

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814125366

The new vid card also demanded a new power supply, so I replaced the original power supply with a Cooler Master GX 450

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817171060

When I restarted the computer, I noticed that I had more sound. Not sure if it was important, but even after that I downloaded the latest drivers for the new video card, there is still no sound.

In the status bar system (or what is called the lower right view), I have more small icons for audio that I used to see.

If I run dxdiag and click on the "Sound" tab, everything is white with the error 'no sound card found.  If one must, you must install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. »

The audio jacks are NOT part of either the old or new video card, so I think that the new video card should not cause this.

Could I have missed feed somewhere during the exchange of food? If I remember, I have provided to:

    -2 CD/DVD drives

    -The expansion slot empty

    -The hard drive

-A long connection on the motherboard (it was like 12 x 2 pins)

    -A small connection square to motherboard (2 x 2-pin)

Any suggestions on what I can is dead wrong, or what I need to check? I am a novice at this stuff, so it could very well be something stupid.

Also, I suppose, it does not matter, but I also added memory 2x1GB sticks in the empty slots (who does not see the PC, but that's a separate post)

    Hello:

I see an HDMI port on the map output...

Why what happened?  The answer is that your video card has HDMI that requires a separate HDMI audio chip on the video card. So yes, your videocard DID cause it happens because the PC has picked up map video, disabled the car video (if you have an onboard video) and also disabled the audio system integrated, take on it for audio HDMI on the video card.

The solution is simple, but almost no one knows about it, so I wouldn't say it's something stupid...

Go into your BIOS. Looking for an embedded audio setting. It will be either disabled or Auto. Change the setting on " Enabled".  Save the setting here where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS.

When the PC restarts your integrated sound card needs to be restored, and you will also have the use of your audio HDMI when you plug an HDMI cable to your TV.

  • You can replace the graphics card on an Acer Aspire 5920?

If so what card would be compatible? I currently have an Intel GM965 Express Chipset, and unfortunately Intel stopped supporting this video card in 2009. I am running windows XP Professional service pack 3

My computer lists the specifications as:

Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU
    T5450 @1. 66 GHz
    1.67 GHz, 2.99 GB RAM

It is not possible to replace the graphics card.  It is part of the motherboard.
