  I am looking for alternatives to the standard battery U200 (PA3356U-3BRS). Some online retailers offer a battery high-capacity third they say is compatible (for example, try Froogle). The specifications are:

  You should be very careful with 3rd party batteries. Incorrect battery may damage the laptop!
  So I do not recommend the use of accumulators that are not specifically designed FRO your laptop!

  As far as I know for Satellite L650 exist no high capacity batteries but only one original with capacity 4400mAh.

  Do not use other batteries which are not compatible to your laptop model and this largest battery does not fit into your laptop.

  What you should try is to reduce power consumption. Use the power saver Power plan. Reduce the brightness of the display, close all unnecessary applications and disable all devices that you don't need.

  It's very strange to say, how long your unit can work with battery power.
  For example: If you watch DVDs or play games, so you can use your laptop about 1.5 to 2 hours. On the other site to normal use with say MS Office applications, it is possible to use the machine more than 3 hours. The battery power is therefore highly variable.

A couple of merchants said that it is no longer available and has been replaced by PA3285U-1BRS, the amperage is a little higher at 4400 MAH, but declared voltage is now 11.1 VOLTS.
