Replacement of with El Capitan Yosemite.

I have a MacBook Air with 83 free GB to 120 GB of storage. (OS X 10.10.5, 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3). Replacement of with El Capitan Yosemite use lots of storage, or is replaced by the new old OS?

It replaces the older operating system.

I use Yosemite for the moment but soon, should move to El Capitan. However, I bought a 2 TB external hard drive to use with Time Machine, because my computer says that I'm at my limit with the 1 TB harddrive that I currently use. Box 2 to hd came says it is compatible with Yosemite, Mavericks, or Mountain Lion. Will I have a problem with this 2 TB hd if I'm moving to El Capitan?

You will not have a problem with the drive itself; If it contains a software, which may not work with El Capitan, but you don't need any additional software to use a regular external drive.

  • MacBook Pro comes with El Capitan will not work with Yosemite?

You just bought a Macbook Pro (15 ', i7, 16 GB, 512 flash ") which comes with El Capitan and apparently I can't install Yosemite.

I have the audio hardware and software which is more stable on yosemite by many accounts... After spending $ 3,500, I think I should have the ability to run the previous operating system (Yosemite)... very unhappy about it... as I use my rigging professionally and it's for me real time waster

Is there a real physical limitation or is it the IEF / SIP / MSC?

Well, the line official company has always been that you can not install older software OS on a Mac than the version it came with.

That said, I can say that I have indeed to install older versions of the operating system on some computers, (the Mac Pro towers). You will find very little written on the question of whether or not you will succeed. I make a backup of everything, the partition of the hard drive and try.

It has been my experience you can usually return at least a version of the OS, but there is no guarantee.

  • Install Yosemite on a macbook comes with El Capitan will void the warranty?

The it Department at my job have an image they put on work computers. We rent a new designer and they refuse to buy a new computer because they state that their image can be put on a new mac comes with El Capitan.

If you ask if they can just roll back the OS X in Yosemite, they said that this could void the warranty on the machine. Does anyone know if it's done?

You should not use an OS more old than what the computer shipped with.

  • Nikon is not compatible with El Capitan

    Hello

I hope someone can help me with this...

I have a Nikon D3200. I just got a new Macbook Air with El Capitan, and he didn't have problems trying to use the two together.

I could not install View NX2, who, after some research, I discovered is a common problem with El Capitan. I found links on other threads that led me to download View NX - i and another link to download View NX2. It seems that View NX2 is now installed, but when I connect my Nikon, it is not recognized. In fact, I have another point and shoot Nikon camera and it does not seem to recognize that no more. Problem is that I can not even use Photos as the importer on my Macbook Air because my camera just is not recognized at all.

Side note: I have connected my D3200 to my old Macbook that runs on Yosemite. View NX2 and Photos seem to work well with the import of images. They both open up when the camera is connected. But I did not have enough space on this laptop to import the pictures anyway...

On another thread regarding this issue, the user spoke using the Image Capture to import the photos. BUT my camera is not recognized by the Image Capture either...

I'm not sure this is a Nikon problem, or a problem of iOS with El Capitan compatibility - I foresee contacting me Nikon too.

    Thank you!

I also have a D3200 and it can connect with the latest versions of NX - i, of Apple's Image Capture (found in Applications),

Photos (I've disabled this) and Adobe Lightroom.  with the exception of the pictures, they don't open automatically.  It comes

with 10.11.2 of an end 2013 27 "iMac to start 2011 13" Macbook Pro.

Select this check box, plug in the camera and then turn it on.  Then in the Apple menu, click about this Mac...

Then click on the system status button.  On the left side of the box of the report, expand the material (if it isn't already)

then select USB.  You should see somewhere under the tree of the camera "NIKON DSC D3200".

If this is not the case, there may be a few odd hardware problem.

That's what I get with transfer of images (nothing to camera when I did):

With Nikon Transfer 2 provided with NX - i:

And just to smile and laugh:

So the connections work, just need to understand why it does not work on your Macbook Air.

NX2 is borked and will probably never get it fixed because it is replaced by NX - i.

You must also remove all Nikon software and re-install NX - i.

Also check the version of the firmware on the camera. Mine are listed as C-> 1.04 and L-> 2.009.

  • IMovie 09 with El Capitan will not otherwise pictures/iphoto or itunes - projects lost forever?

Simple (I hope) questions on imovie and iphoto/photos/itunes... Well simple enough...

I use imovie 09 with El Capitan. As you know that el Capitan not including iphoto, imovie 09 can no longer access to iphoto.  Pictures is the replacement for iphoto and imovie 09 will not otherwise be. Finally, imovie 09 access is more itunes.

I have so many projects that are now useless, like all pictures and external soundtracks are more accessible.

IF I update to imovie 10 version (a snip at £10.99 apparently)...

    (a) my imovie 09 projects will be viable, IE. will be links to the (ex-iphoto, now photos) images and itunes files to recovery for my old projects are not lost forever?

    (b) the new imovie will be able to access photos and itunes as good old imovie 09 used to before el capitan burned its bridges for her?

This may be academic, because in some things I can't access my old projects in any case. What is scary and sad.

But any assistance gratefully received. Thank you!

I use imovie 09 with El Capitan. As you know that el Capitan not including iphoto, imovie 09 can no longer access to iphoto.

Have you tried updating iPhoto version 9.6.1? This version works well on El Capitan and iMovie 9.0.9 shows iPhoto libraries in the photo browser. The screenshot below is from iMovie on OS X 10.11.5 9.0.9: I don't have older versions of iMovie, if they are still able to see the iPhoto library.

You can update to iPhoto 9.6.1, if you have a version of iPhoto 11, which shows the history of your purchases on the App Store in, see user Barney'a trick:

Can't update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store.

    Your question (a)

I migrated libraries iMovie 9.0.9 to 10, some time ago, and the conversion was lossless. But I can't test what will happen now.

    Your question (b)

iMovie 10.1.2 shows me all the libraries of my picture in the Media tab - the iPhoto, Aperture, photo library library library, also a long time that you have installed the compatible applications.

And the iTunes Library will accomplish in the Audio tab.

  • The CD/DVD does not work with El Capitan 10.11.5 on Macbook Pro

Hello everyone, I spent the time to research on the here and the other site on why the CD/DVD does not work with El Capitan 10.11.5 on MacBook Pro mid 2009. This discussion forum has said that he will not work with the El Capitan software. Any idea or suggestion? Back to Marverick or Yosemite? I tried to use SMC reset, restart, recovery and still the same issue.

    I thank in advance.

    ~ Mike

I have my doubts that the (10.11.5) software is the problem.  Are you sure that the DVD player is simply not defective?  Have you tried to clean the lens?  What is the State of the disc?

Your best option may be a date at a bar in engineering of the Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

    Ciao.

  • Audacity works with El Capitan

I currently have Yosemite 10.10.5 and use Audacity to record my DJ Mix. I'm afraid to go to El Capitan because I afraid of bold no longer works. Does anyone know if Audacity will work with El Capitan?

I used the last bold (2.1.0) no problem for various projects, including the recording of the different inputs and sources, and I'm running 10.11.4. I keep a 32 GB flash USB 3 drive fast to install and test drive new OS which is quite practical as no reinstallation of my main system is necessary if I am having problems.

  • External screen flickers and snowy with El Capitan

I have an intermittent problem on a new LG Display.

LG Display 27MP58 27 "connected to the Macbook Air 11' with El Capitan (10.11.4) flickers and the picture goes snowy. This happens about 10% of the time.

So to determine if it was the connection, the display or the computer I plugged in the screen of a Macbook Air with Yosemite and it was very stable. This convinced me that el Capitan is the culprit.

Given that I'm reluctant to downgrade the OS to Yosemite, is there another fix for flickering with El Capitan.

    Thank you

    Hello senorbill2000,

I understand that you have a problem with an external display connected to your MacBook Air. Have you considered as reinstall OS X Yosemite, but want to discover some additional troubleshooting options before you go down this path. I can help you with that.

At any time you have problems with the display, I always begin with ensure the connection between the two. Start by reseating the cable and also check that your Mac is up-to-date with it's software. Another thing to try is to reset the SMC and the NVRAM. Take a look at the article below and it will be presented in more detail on what to do when you encounter problems with your external monitor.

  • The version of iPhoto installed on the Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. How can I find the compatible version?

When I try to open iPhoto, I get this message

The version of iPhoto installed on the Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version from the Mac App Store for free.

When I search the latest version of iPhoto in App store, I get nothing. How to make compatible version of iPhoto for my OS X Yosemite.

Mac OS X 10.10.3 and newer include Photos, which is designed as a replacement for iPhoto. If you want to go on the use of iPhoto in addition to or instead of switch to Photos, click here and try following the instructions; you will only be able to do if you got before where associated with iPhoto on the Mac App store.

  • Can I use an SDXC (512MB) card as a drive hard primary (such as startup HD with El Capitan) on my iMac 5 K - end 2015? It will slow down the performance of the iMac?

Can I use an SDXC (512MB) card as a drive hard primary (such as startup HD with El Capitan) on my iMac 5 K - end 2015? It will slow down the performance of the iMac?

    I did it with a 32GB SDHC UHS - I Transcend

I do not recommend under OS X from such media, but it works very well. I was preparing for my review of the CPHA Yosemite and did not want to mess with the internal drive of OS X.

  • ScanJet G3110: New G3110 Scanner does not work with El Capitan

I just bought a new ScanJet G3110 and can't make it work with El Capitan.

    > Device does not appear in the control panel and can not be found by Easy Scan.

    > Device does not appear in Adobe Acrobat 'create from the Scan... ". "option

    > BUT device * fact * appear in VueScan and works fine - but I don't really need to buy this package.

Can someone tell me what could happen?  I must return this scanner?

    Thank you.

Yes - I found a post on the HP website - "HP can't stand this product."

This is unfortunate, because I just bought the machine two days ago.  If you are indeed working with where to HP, you can hire a query regarding WHY they sell products that you will not endure.  Needless to say, it will come. Also needless to say, when I looked for a replacement, I don't even consider another HP product.   Who knows if those who are still in charge, even if they are sitting on the shelves in stores.

  • Vs El Capitan Yosemite

    Hello world

I understand that mainly El Capitan is reported as for most of Yosemite, with performance improvements. However, I just bought a new MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5) with 256 GB & 4 GB RAM and I don't know if would be a good idea to upgrade!

Should I create a new partition with El Capitan to consider what options should be adapted with respect to the slow and performance wise? or should I just do the upgrade?

    Suggestions pls...

    Did you buy this machine?

Then the former owner may not have given it to the factory settings.
