I got a call saying they were technical support from Microsoft, they called for my pc was hacked and sent error messages. I was not too su re, but they had me enter a code on the pc, and it showed a list of more than 50 error messages, they said that they had received. Then, they control that is given to them for the mouse and seized a lot of information showing me the problems. Then he said warns me on; those pirates I needed a special program. "Alpha PC maintenance" and for 3 years, it would be $ 135. Now I don't know if it was the real scoop or I fell for a big pile of *! Yes, it is a complete and utter scam. Assuming that you don't give them access to your computer, you're probably pretty course. They are the so-called "canvassing" - selection of lists of random phone numbers and try to sell services and/or access to your computer. You did the right thing, hang up on them.

I would not grant him permission until I have check this. Everyone is aware of this company and it is legitimate?
It is most certainly NOT legitimate. There are a great many scams running right now, in many countries around the world, with similar claims. None of them believe. Microsoft never call unless you called first and made arrangements for a recall to work.

So I recently received calls from this guy who claims to be with Microsoft Error Reporting service, but I thought something was fishy when he couldn't tell me anything specific on my computer, which he would be able to know right away. Also, he couldn't speak a lick of English, which makes it really difficult to understand what he wanted originally.
He told me that he and his 'business' received my computer error messages, and that we should "follow the simple steps to get rid of these problems.
He told me to go to the computer management console and find the 'filter' in the display options, but being an avid user of XP, I know there is no such thing.
He then told me that it is an effect of a virus that "we need to follow the steps to get rid of. He directed me to the console to Run and had me type in this web address:
So now, things get sketchy. A free host for a supposedly serious company? I do NOT.
(Why he wanted me to use RUN to access a Web site, I have no idea, only adds to the superficiality...)
I went on the site, which lo & behold, very professional. There are four links to download files .exe with weird as names:
-' Ammyy v3"(AA_v3.exe)
-' Ammyy v2"(AA_v2.exe)
-"Croosloop" (CroosLoopSetup.exe)
- and 'ShowMyPc"(ShowMyPC3105.exe)He said click on the first and hit. He said SAVE or CANCEL. Now, I'm not naïve or stupid or gullible, and I am computer illiterate.
I smell something fishy here. Technical support does not call you about errors, you call them.
Research in the comments left on their FREE site, I have seen that all FOUR were short and had similar spelling/grammar mistakes. Typical supported false reputation.
I did a google search, barely found anything on this "business" and the guy hung up.
This is the site that this guy directed me to: http://xinfinitytech.webs.com/quick-help/
IM asking for any information about whether if it's a scam, an attempted theft of identity/data theft, an attempt to spread of the most recent virus, or some guy who tries to help. My gut tells me that it is one of the top three.
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!So I recently received calls from this guy who claims to be with Microsoft Error Reporting service, but I thought something was fishy when he couldn't tell me anything specific on my computer, which he would be able to know right away. How to check Microsoft's unsolicited calls are genuine
I received a phone call unsolicited, claiming to be from Microsoft. The person led me through a process to show that there are errors on my computer. She asked me to open a free software - ammyy = to enable it to take and to fix things. She gave me a number 0870 8753141 who do not get an answer. She called back twice. Should I trust it?
All unsolicited calls security and support phone Microsoft are fake.
It is a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

If you gave them access to your remote PC or any software installed, then you should consider the security of your PC to be seriously compromised. Passwords, coordinated banking, etc. can be in the pssession. Consider making a clean Windows and tell your bank, installation etc., depending on the case. Change passwords by using a separate PC until yours is clean.

No, Microsoft NEVER made unsolicited phone calls.
The Australia has agency that you can contact about this, given that your do not call does not protect you from the way it is supposed to be?

error messages from Windows vista backup company
I just got a laptop with Vista Business replacement and no system disk. I downloaded and installed all of the 200 + windows vista updates including Service pack 2. Now I'm doing a system recovery on DVD disks before starting the arduous task of reinstalling all my programs and data files, but I keep receiving the error message 0 x 80780119 not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on the storage location... and storage 0x8004231F insufficient to create either storage copy shadow file or other shadow copy data.
Following the advice I found on another forum of Vista, I resized memory Ghost by using this command, vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage / For = C: / On = C: / MaxSize = 30 GB, who apparently has apparently solved this problem for others, but does not work for me.
I try next? Be explicit because I'm not very familiar with this flavor of operating system Windows.

About Microsoft Windows unsolicited calls
I receive MANY phone calls unsolicited from a few different numbers which indicate that they are calling about an error message that is related to Microsoft Windows on my computer. I tried several times to inform the appellants that I don't want to talk to them, but they continue to remember over and over again. They clearly want a foreign country and I don't know what is the concert. Who are these people and how can I get rid of them?
SG
They are crooks, and once they have your phone number the only effective way to get rid of them is to change your phone number. You can probably contact your phone provider, and they MAY be able to help.
