Report DB using DG and Oracle 12

Hello

I have set up a physical database ensures running Oracle 12 and backups and switch on it will work perfectly.

However, I'm just a 'bit' more.

The backup database must be used for the porposes declaration, too.

As far as I know, a physical standby can be opened for reading, however primary updates are not applied. It is the same for a snapshot.

If I use a logical standby database, I can't use ist as a backup source.

Is this good? Or is there a way to make the deal?

Thank you

Christian

From oracle 11 G, phyiscal relief database can be opened in read-only mode and continue to apply again in the primary, but it requires dataguard active licensing.

  • The using Excel and Oracle SQL Developer data import - I need help

    Dear friends,

    I use Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.1 and I need to import an Excel file into a database table. If I try to import this file into XLS format, fields and headers are properly presented and separated, but if I press the button 'Next', it does nothing - it remains stopped.

    I did some research here in this forum and it seems to me that when you try to import a file via the XLS format, Developer SQL has bugs. Is this correct?

    If I save the same file in the CSV format and try to import the same file, it moves forward, but SQL Developer is not separating headers and fields correctly. It includes all CSV fields into one - say Column0 and fields 1. TEST; 01/01/2000 under the same Column0.

    Save the file in the CSV format is not a problem, by taking a little time. But I don't know how to make Developer SQL import correctly. Could someone help me please? Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Franklin

    This is a known bug in 1.5.1 so use 1.5.0 to import from Excel.
    With respect to the CSV, make sure that you have the right setting in the Preferences - Database - settings of export of genres - delimiter of export custom .

    The verbal and demo explanation does not use the original location/Oracle HOme of the previously
    installed for the binary PFRD base.   It probably should.

    In addition, for some steps to follow to patch binaries PFRD, I'd put it:

    Step 4.  I am guessing that the patch will establish an another sub dir Disk1 and don't want to overwright
    installation of the initial PFRD, therefore, moves the Group of hotfixes as follows.

    CD/opt/web/install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd
    960 ls - ltr
    Group of hotfixes mkdir 961
    Group patches 962 mv p11060983_111140_LINUX.zip
    Group patches 963 cd.
    Unzip 964 *.

    RE: of course, having unpacked the group created patches another subdirectory Disk1 with his own runInstaller

    I guess, all we are doing is patching of binary files, nothing should be running.
    Maybe an environment set in same, as when we ran last the PFRD install, however.  There we / I had
    run. / set_mid_clean after making sure the files property was oracle: oracle.

    Yes, VNC gui and

    . / runInstaller

    RE: Get the message again on this screen "installs the software only. After said is finished, use

    Specify the installation location.  Always to
    Oracle Middleware homepage: / opt/oracle/Middleware
    and
    An Oracle home directory: as_2 # I bet it must be as_1 because that is where the initial PFRD install binary files has occurred.

    NOTE: The summary of the Installation in the video screen escape the Oracle Home is the previous specified during the initial installation. That is to say. PFRD_Binaries.   I guess I should have named that instead of taking the default as_1. At least I would have to have done that.  Well.  Maybe this story might help the next guy.

    Also

    NOTE: The Installation screen is not "from" group of patches as in the video where it says
    Install Oracle Portal, forms, reports, and discover the Group of hotfixes.

    Hi Charlie
    I'm a little confused by this feedback. Especially when you say that you see the option "install - do not configure. Should this option is visible only when you run the Basic 11.1.1.2 PFRD the software installer. The Group of hotfixes 11.1.1.4 has his own 'runInstaller'... and this will display what you see in the viewlet. You definitely run the installer from the directory of stage in the Group of hotfixes? (I'll do my own validation test - if I find something strange going on... I'll report.)

    I now take the following action

    1. I will put the Viewlet so it is clear that the Group of hotfixes is staged in a different place from the base 11.1.1.2 media
    2. provide that nothing must be running (because at this point, no instance of 11 g of construction has been configured)
    3. There's a "slippage" that illustrates the Middleware and Oracle Home entries in the screen "Location of Installation to specify" IE

    Middleware homepage: / u01/alca_portal/middleware
    Oracle home: PFRD_Binaries

    However, you will see that this slide for 2 seconds (which is an error) and if you miss it probably.

    Just FYI - the House of Oracle 11 g correction is in general the same procedure as patching a mid-layer House AS10g i.e

    -You set the Oracle Home base using the installation of the basic software program
    -You patch the Oracle home using the installation program of the Group of hotfixes

  • Exception when using tnsnames AND ezconnect resolution methods with managed Oracle ODP 12 c rel.3

    We are looking at upgrading to a web service to connect to Oracle using the unmanaged to the ODP ODP managed (12 c module 3).

    We use tnsnames and have the following configuration in the sqlnet.ora file: NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZConnect).

    The resolver EZConnect is necessary because we use an OracleDependency object for database update notifications.

    When moving to the managed driver, a SocketException exception is thrown when you try to open a new connection. Looking at the call stack, I can see that the managed Oracle driver, actually a 'OracleInternal.Network.EZConnect' object, calls System.Net.Dns.GetAddrInfo to get an IP address, but with the alias tns as a parameter. Of course, it fails with this exception "unknown host".

    So it seems to me that there is a problem combining tnsnames, ezconnect manned ODP managed!

    Someone else who has experienced this and found a solution, or it could be an error in the driver?

    This problem seems to have been fixed in the version of 12 c 4.

    Hi Leopold,

    Then today is your lucky day :-): sysdate is the same for all the DML. Even if it takes more than one second:

  • Keystore of JKS and Truststore, and Oracle Wallet

    I'm configureing Oracle Forms and reports 11 GR 2 incorporating OID/OIM/OAM webgate/webtier.  WLS use JKS Keystore and Truststore, and Oracle HTTP Oracle Wallet. I have all of this on a single server. Do I have to keep two of them? I asked a certificate with OWM. It can also be used by JKS Keystore?

    What should I do?

    Thank you!

    Oracle Wallet is used by OHS, while WebLogic uses based JKS keystore.

    So if you have the OHS and WebLogic and there is a requirement for SSL, you need both.

  • ADF set (true) disclose to showDetailItem using javascript and pass event

    Hi all

    We strive to integrate oracle ADF and Oracle Forms. We use integration javascript to call/interact with oracle forms

    Presentation of the ADF:

    Activate us or disable the appropriate showdetailitem based on a link.

    To enable forms indicating technicality (with id formssd1) and the javascript event passes to the forms, we use the code below

    function refreshReport(evt) {
      var formsLayout = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteLocator("pt1:r1:0:formssd1");
      if (formsLayout != null) {
       if (!formsLayout.getDisclosed()) {
       formsLayout.setDisclosed(true);
       }
      }
      var reportLink = evt.getSource();
      var reportID = reportLink.getProperty('reportID');
      alert(document.forms_applet);
      if (document.forms_applet != null) {
       document.forms_applet.raiseEvent('refresh', reportID);
      }
      else {
       window.setTimeout(invokeReport(reportID), 20000);

      }
    }

    Problem/question:

    The forms showDetailItem is it disclosed (true), it works fine. The javascript event through to the form and the form refreshes the report

    If the forms point showDetail is not disclosed, javascript allows the showdetail.  But the document.forms_applet attribute is not set.

    ADF: 12.1.3

    Forms: 11g R2

    Can you please let me know, how to reach the attribute (document.forms_applet)?

    I was able to solve the issue myself. I used a combination of clientListener and serverListener. I called the "document.forms_applet.raiseEvent" of managed bean and it solved my problem

    Ok

    I tried and I can't say how it works, but there work ;)

    step by step for r12
    -create a XXAND17 cp

    See o9915626.out open it and it isn't xml
    It looks like word doc

    At startup, the evening only replicate with the error above.

    My question is:
    Why is an update performed at Target.Directory table with the WHERE clause used in the SELECT query to my SNIPPET, which in turn, was intended for the SOURCE. TEST and SOURCE. CONTACT tables?

    Published by: MadhuGopanna on October 14, 2012 23:25: fixed select query. Same recurring error.

    "to replicate (exlisitly give source.test as a source)-
    Question: If I mention only source.test as a source, would have extracted ignore changes made to source.contact_no?

    Stating that -

    MAP source.*, TARGET target.directory

    sandbox say GG to you that you have what it takes to replicate all tables in the source schema in target.directory. -So, it's nonsense.

    "to extract (add section TABLEEXCLUDE to exclude the replication source.contact_no) -"
    Question: I want to reproduce the combination of test and contact_no of source data in the target.directory table. In this regard the TABLEEXCLUDE of source.contact_no will provide the desired result?

    TABLEEXCLUDE clause do not exclude the possibility of using the table in queries in SQLEXEC or anywhere else. He just exclude the table replication if you use wildcard characters.
    For example -.

    TABLE user.*;
    TABLE user.TEST;

    each user of schema table would be replicated except user. TEST.

    I think it is the right way to say what you want-

    EXTRACT ext1
    --connection to database--
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD xxxx
    --hostname and port for trail--
    --rmthost db-dev-2, mgrport 7809
    --path and name for trail--
    --rmttrail /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.12ogg/dirdat/lt
    EXTTRAIL /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.12ogg/dirdat/ss
    SEQUENCE test.*
    --DDL support
    DDL INCLUDE MAPPED OBJNAME test.*
    --DML
    TABLE source.TEST, SQLEXEC (ID query2col, QUERY "select b.phone as phone from source.test a, source.contact_no b where a.sno=:sno_params and a.sno=b.sno", PARAMS (sno_params = SNO)) TOKENS (TK_PHONE = @GETVAL(query2col.phone));
    TABLEEXCLUDE source.CONTACT_NO;

    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
    --source and target definitions
    --ASSUMETARGETDEFS
    SOURCEDEFS /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.1.2ogg411g/dirdef/sourcedef
    --target database login --
    USERID ogg, PASSWORD xxxx
    --file for dicarded transaction --
    DISCARDFILE /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.1.1.2ogg411g/discard/rep1_discard.txt, APPEND, MEGABYTES 10
    --ddl support
    DDL
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP source.TEST, TARGET target.DIRECTORY, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, PHONE = @TOKEN ("TK_PHONE"));
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;

    Just tested - works fine.

  • Oracle Weblogic server and Oracle Application Server

    The Bea weblogic and Oracle application server have been combined in a product-viz Oracle Weblogic server.

    Please clarify - because Oracle Application Server is always available as a separate offering

    Thank you

    Yes, since version 10.3.4 the product called Weblogic Server provides the two "BEA WLS' and 'Oracle AS' characteristics (namely, support for forms and reports, ADF, etc..)

    Existing customers of Oracle ACEs can move to Weblogic Server to get its benefits (for example, JRockIt JVM). For the new Oracle AS it is no longer available.

    BTW. This is not a good forum for this kind of questions. You must use these: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=193
