  I have some problem with vcops 5.8.2, we have about 6 vcenter configured in it. According to the report of vCops 80% of the virtual machines are oversized, I don't know why.

  I checked the use of some of the virtual machine, but I have not seen that the virtual machine are not oversized. Please suggest what values I can use VM optional oversized in vcops (no operation).

  What is considered be oversized is based on policies.  If you use default policies in all areas, you may not see what you want.  You want to put in place so that it meets the criteria that you would consider to be oversized.  For example, if a virtual computer uses less than x % CPU, for x time, based on x number of intervals.  (Sorry, I have not used vCOps 5.x in awhile, so I don't remember the names of specific setting).  You can do the same thing for undersized.

  Unfortunately, this is not a very easy and simple process. But here's what you can do.

  Transfer Super-metrique involves the following steps:

  • Create package great metric attribute and assign it to the resource type. For more information about the metric development super pls. refer to the documentation of great metrics available in the custom user interface.
  • Ensure that the metrics super created appears in the section "all measures".
  • Find great key of DB alivevm metrics.

• vCOps 5.8.4 not reflecting is not some changes to the VMS in vCenter

  Number of things I've noticed since this new facility.  I'm a bit new to the product so go easy on me.

  When I make a change recommended that a computer virtual based on an oversized VM report, for example, the change is not reflected.  The changes took place 24 hours ago, I expect to see that, in a new report, I would think.  Also, if I migrate virtual machines from 1 host to another host that the change is not reflected in the tree.  The only way I could get this show had to restart the GUI admin vCOps.  I have waited days after the vmotions and don't see anything.  Any ideas on that?

• 6 oversized report VM VROPS

  I just upgraded a few weeks VCOP 5.7 to Vrops 6.0.1

  In VCOPs, we had more than 400 virtual machines listed as "oversized".  In the new Vrops with migrated data, we show that 30?  It is quite a difference.  Even if analytics has been tweaked, I don't see how he could say that we have 30 VMs together in our overall environment that are "oversized".   All works in this, or have any ideas about radical change?

  Everything depends on your strategy...

  The default policy to vROps only the list oeversized if the recommended savings is greater than 50%.

  Example:

  If you had accrued 10 GB of RAM recommended should be 5 GB or less so that it appears in the report.

  The default policy to 5.8 has been brutal with his recommendations as usually without adjustment you'd end up chasing your tail with resizing.

  The vROps policy is much less aggressive and more realistic.

  Explain to me, Please, how does it work?
  

  Reports settings do not change the data at all. The period is the time you want to report on, and the intervals/granularity in the fact that you want to display the data interval. So if you have a monthly period, you should usually have a weekly interval or daily... giving you 4 data or 30 points based on selection of the interval. If you have time of the month and the month interval, you would just get a point of analysis data. So the data is avg would be / normalized to a degree of interval... It is not just a random data of some point of this interval.

  The hours of work of this particular workload won't have any special "reporting" setting, however as a note aside, in the config of this virtual machine workload policy you can set hours of work to influence the undersized/oversized/effectiveness analysis.
