Repressive registry missing or corrupt file.

When I try to start my computer, I get the message below on the registry file.

Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt

Here is the extended message I receive:

1. Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause

2. to correct the problem:
a. you insert the Windows Setup disk and restart.
b. Select language settings, and then click Next.
c. click on repair your computer

3 status: 0xc00000e9

4. Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

5 file: \windows\System32\config\system

I tried to do the steps described in number 2 but when I click Next after the languages I don't see an option that says "" click here to fix your computer ".

I tried to reinstall the OS a couple of times, but I get the same message.

I have an Extensa 4420 Acer laptop.

Thank you.

Normally with Acer, you won't get the Option to repair.

He's going to do a restore to the factory settings; How you bought.

If the problem persists with the settings reinstall, contact Acer; as it is their recovery process, not Microsoft:

If your data is not backed up, then at some point that the data will be lost.

Your Sony are delivered with a hidden restore partition or recovery disks, but I do not think that the Sony recovery allows to repair an installation of win, only pure install.

You must remove the drive and it slave on another PC in order to retrieve the data, or take it to a decent repair shop for them to do it for you

    Hi WEBERSCHLOTZSKY,

    1. When you receive the error message?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    3. what happens when you try to copy the file from the Windows XP CD?

There are several reasons for this error message to occur.

This problem is often caused when the boot.ini file is missing or misconfigured. This problem often occurs when a user has recently added or removed from an operating system on the computer or added or deleted hard disk drives in the computer.

The file that is missing, is a Windows root folder called > System32\hal.dll

Since this computer Dell was bought for our children used to use, I don't have any Windows XP disk to install the missing file of root or reinstall Windows XP software.

So, how can I get this missing windows xp root file, in order to exploit the windows xp software?

I tried to re - start the dell computer, but nothing works!

If someone could help me, I would appreciate it a lot.

Is is extremely unlikely that the hal.dll file is really missing or damaged.

It is extremely likely that XP can't find it either because the file system is afflicted or XP is told to find the file in the right place.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

We should first check the inetegiry of your file system and then see what then to do.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

    Hello

Were there any changes made to the computer before the show?
Since you are able to start safe mode, remove all external devices that are connected to the computer. Access tools for system recovery and in the command prompt, run the disk check. See the link.
    Steps1:
What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?
    Step 2:
    1. Select command prompt.
    2. Type chkdsk/r (note: there is a space after chkdsk)
    3. Restart the computer and allow to run the disk check.
Important: When running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area so all available data on this risk to be lost
    Step 3:
You can even try the option system restore which is available in the system recovery tools.

  • Files missing or corrupt error message

    Pavilion g4 with Windows 7

Try to open Microsoft Office library files, I get the following error message: "this program is unable to run because of missing or corrupted files.  Contact the manufacturer of your computer. "Also, seen in the library, Microsoft Office files do not display their characteristic icons (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).  All cultures view the Red page, icon.  However, when I open the files of their respective programs, i.e. all first open MS Word and then open one of the files affected by the program, they open without difficulty. I would be grateful for views on the resolution of this problem.

By 'Library' you mean say Windows Explorer instead, or you want to say in the Documents folder in the library section?

What version of Microsoft Office is installed?

Icons expected loss means that files have lost the link with the program which aims to open. It is quite easy to repair.

Follow the tutorial found on this external Web site to associate Microsoft Office files with MS Office programs.

  • How can I check and delete the corrupted files?

I was told that my laptop performance could be carried out by missing or corrupt files. I can't find the system check in the Panel, and it is not found when I try to kick it and run. I don't have the original recovery or installation disk disk.

According to the page I've linked in the other post: Hard Drive16 GB (Solid State Drive Flash Module).  Solid State Drive SSD =

    You can always do another:

Check and repair corrupt files is to open cmd in the start menu, then right click "Run as Administrator".  Then type chkdsk c: / r

    • If you get an error "Chkdsk cannot run", type in, ChkDsk runs on your next Windows startup

Who will eventually fix any corrupt system files, but not others.  You suspect corruption in the other or all of the files, then probably the SSD is having problems.  That can be fixed with conventional methods, as far as I KNOW.  Maybe time to replace it with a new SSD or hard drive classic, if possible.  Don't know how HP implimented the SSD in the mini.

Since there is no DVD/CD drive integrated into the unit, get an external hard drive or USB key and backs up all data that you consider important before things get worse.  You can buy 16 GB flash drives or bigger, so that would be my suggestion.  Just copy everything on a flashdrive before anything else is done.

BTW: I found a recovery here media: http://www.computersurgeons.com/SearchProducts.aspx?sbt=hp%20mini%201030nr%20&bkm=Results#Results
