  • A neighbor's wireless network is more powerful than mine, so my MacBookPro selects every time.  How can I eliminate the network of neighbour from the airport to the research?

Wireless network from a neighbor is always "found" by my Airport first, then my MacBook links to it.  But I want to find my own network, of course.  Question: How can I remove this neighbor of the network function research network?  Is it still possible?  In other words, I want my laptop to ignore this network around when I wake up from my laptop.

    On your Mac laptop...

Open the preferences system (gear on the dock icon)

    Open network

Click WiFi on the left panel to select

Click Advanced in the bottom right of the window

Here you can see the list of networks that 'remembers' your laptop and connect to the network at the top of the list first.  If you want the laptop to connect to a specific network, click the network name to highlight, and then drag it to the top of the list.

Now, click to highlight a network that you do not want your laptop to 'remember', then click on the - (less) button at the bottom of the list to remove the network. Do the same for other networks that you no longer need.

Click OK at the bottom right of the window

Click on apply in the next window that appears

  • Pirrit - how Custom to restore your data without infecting a MacBookPro erased?

May 31, 2016, I started to get pop-up windows.  The next day because the problem has gotten worse, I bought Bitdefender and downloaded MalwareBytes, which found and removed adwares/malwares.  However, as CJ706 says, Bitdefender has continued to find malware Pirrit despite detecting and defusing it and restarts.  I continue to receive advertisements and discrete words in the articles I'm reading are link highlighted in green sand for ads sites.  My MacBookPro works much more slowly and regularly freeze Web pages.   Re-launch of Safari with the SHIFT key down has stopped at least advertising pages new opening.

I am now back up my data on newly bought external hard drive so no risk of corrupting my backup disks standard and will perform an erase and reinstall.   Someone can tell me how to migrate my data and applications and applications on Time Machine without an automatic reinstall that would bring the malware through?

Also, I have been informed (of those who do not know Macs) to install Bitdefender and MalwareBytes before you migrate all the data.  How can I get these in front of my time Machine before migrating to other data?

Finally, I think I downloaded Pirrit when you try to play a video in a report by the BBC or the Daily Mail.   I had repeated pop-up windows saying that my version of Flash is not up-to-date, and I had to repeatedly download Flash of what I thought, it was Adobe's Web site.  The video has not yet played after that I had downloaded Flash.  What I read Pirrit is via a fake pop-up Flash Ad.  Is it possible I could have downloaded Pirrit malignant ads pop up on these sites that I thought I could trust?

    Thank you

  • 15 mid-2010 "MACBOOKPRO renovation tips

I got a MacBookPro brand new and don't know what to do with my old. I guess I could sell it if my drug dealer wants to be paid earlier than expected, but for now, I am now. Love having two monitors on my desk makes feel me important. In addition, I hardly used the keyboard, I've kept this Mac on a stand of M and used a magic mouse and keyboard magic. If the Mac still seems pretty sweet.

What can I do to my macbookpro refurb more old?

I've attached screenshots which show the specs.

I guess the first thing would be a HD SSD? Keeping in mind that I will change the parts myself (and I'm not particularly tech-savvy) can you recommend a specific HD? Also all other parts replaced, as the graphics card?

    Thank you very much!

    Johnny Chacho

A 2010 MBP accepts up to 8 GB of RAM.  This will help especially if you run a 10.9 OSX or newer.

If the bank account is fat, install an SSD.  Even if the 2010 MBP has connectivity SATA2, current SSDS are retro-compatible.  You won't get maximum performance on their part, but it will still be much faster interpreter.

For the RAM and SSD, OWC and Crucial are my recommendations based on reputation and personal experience.

    Ciao.

  • AdressBookSourceSync uses permanently more 1 GB of RAM

    Hi all

AdressBookSourceSync uses more 1 GB of Ram on my MacBookPro, running on EL captain in 2013.

Questions that I could find on this forum refer all to OS X Versions and I have been unable to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Kind regards

    Felix

Please test after taking each of the steps that you have not already tried it. Back up the data before you start.

    Step 1

Leave the address book or Contacts application runs.

Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select this option:

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBookSourceSync

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

of the contextual menu.*, a file must open with a selected item. Move selected item to the trash.

Repeat with each of these lines:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.AddressBook
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.AddressBook.ContactsAccountsService

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

    Step 2

If you use iCloud, uncheck that box Contacts in the iCloud preferences window. Press return to confirm, or click on store on Mac in the dialog box that opens.

If you synchronize contacts with other network services, disable synchronization in the preferences window accounts Internet.

    Step 3

This step applies only if you can launch Contacts. In the list of groups on the left side of the Contacts window, select all on my Mac. If this group does exist or is empty, skip this step. Otherwise, in the menu bar, select

Exporting files ▹... ▹ Contacts Archives...

Save archive exported to the desktop.

    Step 4

Exit Contacts runs. Reveal the next item in the Finder as you did in step 1:

    ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook

If you know when the problem started, and you can restore this folder from a previous backup without losing the contacts, make and test. Otherwise, move the folder to the desktop, leaving the window open for now.

    Step 5

Launch Contacts. Your contacts and groups will be gone. If you followed step 3, and then double-click the file created in step and confirm that you want to import from it. Your contacts and groups reappear.

    Step 6

If you followed step 2, reverse it. Test. If the problem is resolved, delete the address book folder and the file to archive on the desktop, and then close the open folder window.

Otherwise, exit Contacts again and put the folder AddressBook back where he was, by crushing the newest that will have been created in its place.

    Step 7

Back to step 3, but this time choose export vCard... in the menu export. Continue as in steps 4 to 6. All contacts must be preserved, but you may lose some metadata such as membership in a group.

  • The Message text on maybe more big Mac box?

The Message text on maybe more big Mac box?  Is it possible to increase the size of the message text box (the window you type in) when using iMessage on a Mac?  I find it weird that even when iMessage is open to full screen on my Mac, the area or window in which I type my message is tiny and located at the bottom of the screen.  3/4 of the screen is literally not used.  I wish I could enlarge the size of the box, or at least move it to the top of the screen.  Is this possible?

    Hi Chris,

Just to be sure, have you saved your iPad in iCloud and iTunes?  Always a good idea before update of iOS.  You have activated iCloud photo library?  The adjustment to optimize the choice will be to transfer your photos and original videos to iCloud and free up significant space on your iPad.

If you need more space for an iOS update

When you update your iOS wireless device, you might see a message that there is not enough space on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. These steps can help.

During an update wireless, you might see a message that says that the update cannot be installed because it needs more space you have on your device. If you see this message, there are several ways you can update your device:

    • Connect your device to your computer and to update via iTunes.
    • Delete the contents of your device and try to update again manually.

    Update via iTunes

To download the latest version of iOS through iTunes, follow these steps:

    1. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your device to your computer.
    3. In iTunes, select your device.
    4. In the summary pane, click check for the update.
    5. Click on download and update.

If you see a different warning message during an update, Learn how to solve it.

    Delete the content manually

If there is not enough space to download and install an update, iOS 9 trying to put more space. It temporarily removes some downloadable parts of installed applications. You can't remove or move any content. But in some cases, it is necessary to manually remove some content.

In the settings menu to use, you can see how much space your apps use and delete those you don't need. You can always re - download your purchased applications or any content later. Follow these steps:

    1. Tap Settings > General > storage & use iCloud > manage storage.
    2. Select any application to see how much space it uses and tap Delete App to remove it. Some applications, such as music and videos, allow you to remove parts of their documents and data.
    3. Reinstall the update of iOS. Tap Settings > general > software update.

You can also reduce the size of your library in turning on iCloud photo library and optimization of storage of your device. Learn more about the content and storage app.

Also, take a look at your Messages application.  Several times the attachments in conversations can occupy a lot of space.  You can remove individual attachments.  Should you need a conversation, deleting it will remove attachments as well.   If you need back up an individual message before deleting, you can copy and paste the content in another application such as Notes.

Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    Happy new year!
