Rescan the folder user.lib w/o restart LabVIEW?

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this so that the tool palettes are updated if I place a new VI in my user.lib folder?

Thank you!

I'm in LabVIEW 2009 SP1

There is a method of the Application class, which updates the pallets. I think it's available publicly, but if not, you should be able to access it by installing the script API.

    1. Please select from the menu bar Terminal

If the run command box is checked, uncheck it or enter the command to run automatically (if any), each opening of a Terminal window. Note: this is not how you define a default shell.

    2. If step 1 does not resolve the problem, see below.

    Back up all data.

Copy and paste the following line into the text box that appears, and then press return:

Close the Terminal window that opens. Repeat with this line:

    /bin/mv .profile .bash_history .bash_profile .bashrc .inputrc disabled_shell_files

History Shell and former initialization files will be saved in a directory named "disabled_shell_files" at the top level of your home directory. It is normal that some of these files do not exist, and therefore, you will get error "no file".

Close the window and open a new test.

You may already know that files with name starting in '. ' are not visible in the Finder by default. So, if you open the folder that you created in the Finder, it will appear as empty, even if it is not. If you need to recover a portion of the data in the files of the shell, use a shell such as nano-based text editor (1). Make sure that you're not recreating the problem. Otherwise, you can delete the folder.

I have only access to the folder users and subfolders.  Everything I tried was "access denied."  I can't get to the root of c:.

    Hi, Scrivmark

The default C: drive system is not intended to access directly by users and therefore users have restricted access to its root in the premeditated or premeditated damage prevention vital system files. If you are an administrator you can allow full access to your account to all or specific files on drive c (including a root folder) by editing its ' authorization of the lists by right-clicking on a file and choosing "Security."
If you are not an administrator, you should ask another user whose account is Administrator (or equivalent) privileges to access the interesting files to your account.
In both cases, you must understand damage system files, you can do.

  • Change the name of the folder "User".

I changed my account from Xyz to Abc name, but who has not automatically changed the name of the C:\Users\Xyz to C:\Users\Abc. Then I spotted responses in the latest discussions in this forum and a suggestion created a new user account called 'for now', made "at this time," the administrator, converted my old user ("xyz") account to a standard user, disconnected Xyz, logged on to 'for now' and tired to rename the folder C:\Users\Xyz to C:\Users\Abc... but it wouldn't let me not - says "this action can not be performed because the file or a. file is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again. "I had closed all the files and folder... When Windows gave me this error message, I even open the Task Manager to 'for now', opted to show processes from all users, and there was no open process account Xyz... So why am I still not able to rename Xyz? Most frustrating. Why cant Windows 7 at least tell me what file or folder is open in Xyz?

    Hello

You can't rename a user account records. You can rename a user account, but it will not rename the files. The reason is that each user profile is associated with a specific security ID and there are many places in the system who wants to say that SID and the names of these folders.

See the following article for instructions on the replacement of an existing one with a new profile user profile. This information allows to replace your original account.

WARNING: Be very careful when changing user profiles. Always ensure that you have at least one administrator created account to use when creating/changing of accounts. If you remove the single administrator profile, you may lock you out of the computer that requires reinstallation of the operating system to retrieve.

After you create a new user profile, you must disconnect and connect with the new profile to complete the creation of the profile.

    I hope this helps.

Not available in the Notes, as far as I KNOW.

    Hello

The research under your user account folders are virtual folders.

These files are only a few KB in size.

The files that appear in the all folder shows all files on the computer. It is simply a list of the files and not the real, physical files.

You can click right on the all folder and select properties to see the actual size of the file.

  • Dependencies in vi.lib and loading of the wrong place user.lib

    Hello

I'm having a weird problem trying to load a LabVIEW project in 2013. Whenever I open the project folder, it keeps looking for files in vi.lib and user.lib in the wrong place. Instead of search in files (x 86) C:\Project \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\vi.lib, he look in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\Targets\vi.lib

I have manually browse for each file in the directories vi.lib and user.lib and point each a return to real folders. But in the project folder itself, all the files I have loaded just said that it is still in conflict. When I try to resolve conflicts of files, they disappear for a second then come back.

I can't make LabVIEW for functions in the directories user.lib and vi.lib normal, it keeps adding targets in the destination.

I tried to do a recompilation of mass, and which does not at all help.

When I load the project, select a few dozen files vi.lib and user.lib, do a save all, close the project, and then re - open, I need to reconnect every file again.  It still seems for all... \Targets\vi.lib instead of just \vi.lib.

This isn't the case for all projects, just this one it seems.

The files are in the right place based on the path under "loading". If she says it's in : \Waveform\WDTOps.llb\WDT number of waveform samples DBL.vi, it really is. The path on the top is right, I don't know why LabVIEW is not find anything.

Any idea how I can get this project to stop looking for vi.lib in the folder target?

    ng1902 wrote:

I managed to get the errors to stop copying vi.lib and user.lib files in the subfolder of targets.

This could be dangerous and cause problems.  If it's possible after your project.

When I saw this sort of thing in the past, it was usually because of a broken dependency I got didn't really need.  I would say through your dependencies (in project) and search for the odd elements glyphs showing errors.  Try to find out why those are dependencies and remove unused code, or links to the missing code.  Resolve all conflicts and then make a backup of all.

In the past, it happened when I tried to copy a project as a new project, and then changes the code snatch which was unnecessary, but there was always a code in a disabled structure that could not be loaded causing a kind of problem of linkage project.

  • Lightroom CC "User permissions error" - cannot change the permissions for the folder Preferences

I noticed that Lightroom was running slow so I thought it was time to take stock. (I was using Lightroom 5.7). Yesterday, I downloaded the last LR update, which is Lightroom CC [1067055]. I thought that Lightroom CC would replace 5 Lightroom but apparently they have downloaded as separate applications. When I tried to launch Lightroom CC I got an error message indicating "Lightroom has met permission issues. I followed the directions from this link met Lightroom user permissions problems. I was working off of Yosemite, so I hope that the error can be corrected if I updated my operating system. Today, I downloaded El Capitan and Lightroom CC will not always open - I get the same error. I went to manually update the read and write permissions for the folders listed, but some of them don't make changes. The preferences file gives me an error saying "the operation cannot be performed because you don't have the necessary authorization." I don't have the "Adobe" folder in this route Caches

    @laurawielos,

    Try this:

the Macintosh HD > users > [your user folder... click on 'Go' on the options bar at the top on the desktop (Menu bar) > then click on the 'option' key > mouse down to the selection of 'Library' that should appear > click on it to open the folder /Users/ [your user name] /Library/ ' "]

You should now find the appropriate folders to change permissions. Just give your user name of the read/write permissions. I don't think you want to give everyone the read/write permission as some authors have claimed.

  • Could not find user.lib screws

Hi there and thank you in advance for any response.

I'll take a semi-manufactured project for an outside contractor in India who did some LabVIEW Development. Everything was left on a desktop computer. The computer has an executable and a screw with a LabVIEW project file. Executables seem to work but LabVIEW 2011 is not installed, so I can't watch the EIS. I copy and paste all of the LabVIEW live in my laptop and open the LabVIEW (.lvlps) project file. I try to open the high level VI and it tells me it cannot locate three specific screws so I looked in the error to see if I could get more information and found that these 3 screws located under the user.lib folder. I have search the whole computer these screws and the file user.lib but did not find anything. It seems to me that the user.lib folder is created when the LabVIEW development system is installed on a computer. If I install LabVIEW on this desk, it will help me to get these screws or they are lost forever?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Serge

    Yes, you're right RavensFan.

The company is called Accesio and I just got the LabVIEW drivers, they sent me.

It was the screw that I was looking for!

And creating Dir VI was indeed part of the openG libraries.

    Thanks again.

  • system cannot access the folder

I have two files that appear to be unaccesible.

    1. all users/Documents

2 Program Files/Microsoft Security customer... (created by my first installation of Security Essentials)

I don't know when the 'Documents' folder has become inaccessible, but the Client Security folder was withikng last week... It is not stopped Security Essentials to work, leading to a virus attack (AMSECURE), OR something else has stopped working and rendered virus attack it the inaccessible folder... (Don't know who)

I discovered the problem with the "Microsoft Security Client" folder, when I tried to re-installed Security Essentials, while recovering from the virus. Installation has failed every time.  Once I discovered what the problem was, I was able to rename the folder 'Microsoft Security customer', so that the security essentials installation then ok...

I searched on the internet a solution to the issue of file access and nothing that I do allow me to access the records...

Both files are displayed as READ ONLY I change, but he returned immediately to READ ONLY. I started in safe MODE and checked the property and everything seems OK, too... all folders and files in the folder have assumed the same properties and are not accessible...

I finished a full disc and all check/scan that found a few bad sectors, it does not solve the problem...

I can't open the 'Documents' folder at all... However, I can open the "Microdoft Security Client" folder, but can't open the files it contains.

When I try to delete it, I get the meesage that a folder it contains is not empty... However, the top folder and the files it contains are all shown as "empty".

Thanks JW... He has solved a part of my question...

The folder users/document all is now available...

  • How can I remove the "Noge" of the computer user?

    Original title: Noge user

    Hello

My computer is controlled by a user called "Noge", and makes me print documents that are not mine. The folder of the user is always placed in the folder users on the C:\ drive and it cannot be deleted. When I print a document the computer also prints the copy of the document called a new Microsoft Office Word Document created under the folder of Noge in disk C.

Can someone help me? This is the second time my own Launcher Progam Windows detects the problem, which means a virus or a person who is called Noge is controlling my system. I created this tool to be used to luanch most of the Windows administrative tools primarily by system administrators.

Please help me soon on Noge.

OK, here is what your report tells me:

    • Logged in under your own account (A.B.)
    • Your profile folder is C:\Users\A.B.
    • You finally connected to 16:24
    • Your account is an administrator account.
    • Noge user finally connected at 16:14
    • His account is an administrator account.
The strange thing is that the password for the account of Noge was exactly as the opening of session took place, in the second. This suggests that the account is used by an automatic process. If it is legitimate or not, I can't say. I now do this:
    1. Create a Windows restore point.
    2. Burn a CD of Windows repair.
    3. Use the CD to repair to start the machine in Repair Mode, then check whether you can see the Windows restore point, you created in step 1.
    4. Click the start planet.
    5. Type the three letters cmd into the search box.
    6. Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    7. Click on "Run as Administrator".
    8. Type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
NET user Noge / active: No.
(to disable the account of Noge)
      NET user Noge
(to check if the account is disabled really)
    9. Reboot the computer.
    10. Re-issue the net use Noge command to make sure that the account is always disabled.
    11. Repeat step 10 at regular intervals.
    12. Communicate the results here.
If step 8 has the unexpected side effect of making bootable machine then you can use step 3 to restore it to its previous state.
    Note: steps 1-3 are important!
Also note that running a machine with one admin account is a way very risky to do things. If you have only one small problem with this account, you will be in diabolical trouble.

I am trying to create new users on my computer windows 8 but it dosent open, I get a message "the service user profile service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded. "and new users are not created in the registry, that is it please help

I had the same problem.  Get the «user profile service has no user of logan...» "I tried everything I found online and nothing has worked.  Then I reinforced to the back and looked at the whole picture.  It turns out that it wasn't a computer after all problem but a question of the user.  Under folder C:/users/default in the end I managed to delete all subfolders except appdata.  So when you went to create a new user he could not find the correct files to copy to the new profile to store information in.  To ensure that I had a correct records back into the C:/users/default folder, I went on another computer and just copy paste the new default folder from another computer in the folder users on my computer and erased mine.  Of course I could create my comments and new users account once again.  Finally.
  • Windows Mail reset / delete the contents of the folder when you restart

After more than a year of use of Windows Mail - all my messages and account information is missing.  I have rebuilt them, only to see them disappear after restarting my computer.

Contacts and mail rules are still there, but my files and mail is gone.  Show rules with a red X because the destination folder is gone.

It seems that the content of the: Mail C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows

are deleted and rebuilt at some point during the restart process.  I tried to change the location of storage in Windows mail, but that setting gets also brought back on reboot.

I don't know if this is normal, but the folder where messages are supposed to be appear in blue.

Thanks a lot for all ideas.

You can also consider trying to create a different user account and see if Winmail works very well under that user.

These steps have not solved the problem.

On other experiences - it looks like all the content of the

    C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Microsoft

are getting deleted on reboot - that includes information from Windows Mail.  If I change the storage location of e-mail to something outside this directory, it records everything.  But is not really solve my problem because I think there are other things stored in this folder that should stay around.

    Any ideas on this issue?
